Kind of funny. I was thinking of starting a similar topic.
However, I was looking to transfer to either TC or JQ and trying to find out more info about both servers.
Some good info about JQ.
Anyone have anything about TC?
Looking to bring my alt-army with me.
Thx
Thanks guys. I appreciate the feedback.
Still working on gear (armor and weapons specifially..have a ton of comms for trinkets).
I have to say though, after reading the above, I am starting to shift my thoughts to what DeadlySynz and Graendall posted.
Even though I am not geared out (not even close), i can see the damage output is pretty impressive. I am starting to wonder what they would look like when I am geared out.
Just to get further suggestions, what should I be looking for on my staff, ascended that is. I’d like to get that piece going (i have the mats and everything) so I think that might be a good place to start.
Thanks everyone for the feedback.
Cheers
Thanks guys.
What about staff? What should I focus there?
Couple questions about Eles for zergs.
i recently dusted off my Ele that I hit 80 on a bit back and shelved him.
now with season 2 starting, I wanted to bring him back to life and do some wvw.
My goal is to be backline and support. I would be running the staff and full cantrips.
Build wise, I was thinking of 0/0/10/30/30
But a few specific questions.
First, I’d the ability to run backline support, but also run backline DPS (providing more damage against the zerg, mixing it up a bit.) That said, what sorta builds are recommended for that setup.
Secondly gear setup.
What should I be looking for? I have a lot of comms saved up that I need to spend. I do not want to be a glass cannon. I would prefer not to die a lot if possible.
Any thoughts/suggestions or guidelines for gearing?
Much appreciate the help and suggestions.
Best.

With the season about to start here shortly, I am looking to move off my current server to a new home.
Looking to find a server that has very guild that does PVE and WVW. (I enjoy both parts of the game, but WvW is my first love.)
Looking to meet some new friends, have a good time and rip it up in WvW.
Times availability would vary throughout the day (depends on work schedule).
I can run with a large zerg, medium group and small havoc groups. I have a couple of alts that have good gear that can fill a variety of roles: (support/heals, dps et.c)
Looking forward to it.

Hey All,
Had a question about gear for my thief. I’ve been playing around on my level 80 Thief for sometime now and having fun. I do a lot of WvW and PVE (dungeons). I had a question on gear.
I grinded out a full set of dire gear (armor and weapons only at the moment) doing CoE dungeon. I like to run conditions and find them fun.
However, i’d like to get another set of gear thats burst/power build. I am thinking of running d/d or sword/pistol (pistol whip is cool as hell).
That said, recommendations on a set to work for? I am also 450 on leathermaking so I can craft or grind dungeon gear.
Lastly, I have a lot of comms saved up that I have not spent yet. here is what i have saved up:
-200 laurels
-60 guild comms
-900 badges of honor
-600,00 karma
-little over 150 fractal comms
Also, have a mixed bunch of dungeon comms (200 per dungeon).
Just wanted to get some ideas for gearing and what to spend my comms on.
Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.

Just a straight forward simple question.
This is geared towards while zerging.
Roaming I get, but trying to find out how to play my engineer in a wvw zerg.
thx.

Thanks everyone. All great feedback and I greatly appreciate it.
All excellent points on all classes. All sound incredibly appealing.
Makes me wish I had one of everything.
Guess its time to get work, and leveling all of them…hehe
Cheers everyone.

So I have a level 80 mesmer that is my main and run in wvw all the time. Absolute blast to play. That said, I wanted to get another toon to 80 (maybe another two or three toons to 80), just to mix up the play style.
With my Mesmer, I roam a lot. Suits my play style. Zerging is ok, but I dont feel that i contribute that much outside of ports, stealth, and providing boons. I wanted to try something different, something that, if possible, contributes equally to zerging and roaming.
I have thought about going:
Warrior – Melee class, although I am hesitant sometimes to go melee because of the monumental lag that occurs when zerg meets zerg. That is my only concern.
Necro – DoT’s are fun. It apperas to be able to do both. But, anothe ‘scholar’ class.
Guardian – See tons of them. Seems tanky, can heal burst. Viable as roamer as well?
Engineer – Intrigues me. How much can they contribute to zergs? Roaming is good. healing good a well?
Elementalist – Also intriques me. Is it me, or are elementalist squishy? I know they provide support very well.
Thief – I love stealth. Its a blast to play.
Ranger – not interested. I dont like pets.
Just looking for feedback. hopefully I provided some info to help with suggestions.
Thanks everyone.

What Pyro said.
For Dungeons/Fractals I use:
Full Zerker everything
10/30/0/20/10 (usually) Phantasm build
Sword/Focus and Sword/Sword or Sword/Pistol mostly (you only need 2 swords total)
Greatsword for very rare occasions
Thanks guys. I will give that a go.
Appreciate it.

With zerker gear, you can do any build utilizing power. That’s shatters, phantasms, mantra nukers, some lockdown builds, etc. etc. Try out different builds to see what you prefer.
With carrion gear you can do…nothing. Salvage it and get rabid if you want to use conditions.
Thanks. Appreciate it. Hmm, mantra nukers..i need to read about that.
Ya, exactly on carrion gear. I realized that and was like, great…
Hey everyone.
Just had a quick question regarding gear and builds and what meshes together well.
Working on building out my character, I initially went with Carrion gear as I was running a condition build. I quickly found out that conditions are not so good for PVE.
So, asking around a bit, some folks recommended going with berserker gear. Last night, i crafted my last piece of berserker gear, so now I have two sets of gear.
i wanted to do some testing with my berserker gear and wanted to get some ideas for the following:
-builds to try
-what runes and sigils i should give a spin.
-weapon setups
Lastly, with berserker gear, I am assuming that I can run builds for:
-shatter builds
-phantasm builds
Appreciate the feedback and help

Much appreciated for the feedback. I will head out here and do some testing.

I have many sets of gear for different things. As far as pve goes, zerker is the best choice.
Mesmer conditions in pve are really bad for multiple reasons. Firstly, you’ve got the generic facts that conditions simply do less damage, do it slower, and are vulnerable to overwriting from other classes and whatnot.
Next, a lot of Mesmer condition application is either torment or confusion, both of which are not good in pve since mobs attack slowly and don’t tend to move much. The rest of the Mesmer condition application is either sharper images or ends up as pure RNG from debilitating dissipation, which has 3 good pvp effects, but 2 useless pve effects.
So generally you’ll have zerker for all your pve needs. Pvp you can use more or less anything as long as you have the build for it (though carrion sorta doesn’t have a build, rabid is just better). With regards to runes, I use centaur on all my power based sets simply because they’re far cheaper than traveler runes, as well as better from a movement perspective. On condition based sets, I just accept being slow, and carry a focus swap at all times.
Thank you very much for your feedback.
I will work on my berserker gear. Any builds you recommend that I should give a spin?
Always like to learn new builds and learn the ins and outs of them.
Thanks again for your feedback.

Hello folks. Just wanted to ask a few questions here, hopefully clear up some confusion I have (no pun intended hehe). Just a quick note, I play PvE and WvW.
Been playing a Mesmer for a bit now. My only 80 character and i absolutely have a blast with it. Just fun to play.
I read the forums quite a bit, trying to learn as much as I can.
I currently have been running the Blackwater spec. Fun spec. Seems to work well.
Now, before I knew what i was doing, I bought carrion gear (probably go rabid if i had to and do it over again). Was saving up some gold for traveler runes for the speed boost, but open to suggestions.
To me it seems that condition damage for mesmers in PvE is lacking, but seems fine for pvp. That sound about right? .
If that holds true, do most folks have two sets of gear then? one for pve and one for pvp? Say one for condition and one for power? Just trying to get a better understanding of what I should be shooting for moving forward.
really looking for some advice and suggestions from experienced mesmers on things I should be striving for as I gear out my mesmer.
Been saving up my money: currently sitting at 100 laurels, 700,000 karma, about 30 gold, some dungeon money (ascalon tears), about 700 badges of honor. Been saving this trying to figure out the best way to spend them and not waste them
I’ll start with that for now, but definitely other things I am trying to get a better understanding of.
much appreciated.

Cool video.
I have a question though, so please pardon my n00bness.
I am still learning how conditions work and how to play condition specs correctly. But my question is, what causes, or how do you get your DoTs to tick so fast on your targets? Granted, i see you have multiple dots/conditions, but i cant seem to get my dots to tick like that. Something I am missing? Trait? Gear?
Appreciate it.

As the title states, of all the classes, which is viable as a roamer and in zerg. I think all classes have a place, but really wanted to find what others think on this topic.
Cheers.
Heyo fellow Mesmers.
Was hoping to get some feedback on a few questions I have about Mesmers in general, and mesmer play at level 80.
So far, mesmer is my favorite class to play, by far. I really enjoy this class because of its diversity and, to a degree, complexity to play. Even at level 80, I still feel like there is a lot to learn for this class.
Currently, I enjoy playing as a condition/crippler Mesmer, something like the Blackgate build, which I have used successfully. However, I was curious. I recently came back, about 2 weeks ago and it appears the condition mesmers took a hit recently? If that is the case, how viable are Mesmers as a condition build right now?
In regards to playing a mesmer, I leveled mostly using sceptor/focus, sceptor/pistol, sword/focus, sword/gun and sword/sword. I did not use Staff a lot (i think I just need to get the hang of it).
With that in mind, what weapon sets are ideal for cripple/condition mesmers? We need to keep a lot of illusions up correct, because we illusions are killed, they cripple the foe. Correct me if I am wrong.
Outside of that, I was just looking for some suggestions of builds to test/learn. I dont feel like I have mastered the mesmer style of play at all and want to learn how to better play my mesmer.
I will start with that and has replies come in, i can add more info.
i do appreciate the feedback and looking forward to responses.
Cheers,
