Tome Change ideas

in Guardian

This idea has probably been posted before, so just consider this my vote on the idea.

I think we should keep both tomes as Spirit Weapons. Tome of Courage can use Purifing Ribbon as an auto attack and Heal Area as an activated ground targeting skill. Tome of Wrath can use Judgement as an auto attack and Zealot’s Ferver as an activated skill.

I would really hate to see these tomes go away. Keeping them as spirit weapons still fits the feel of being part of the base guardian lineup. And, they would benefit from builds that utilize spirit weapons traits. Finally, I just think seeing a floating book of awesomenesss giving the smackdown on my foes would be an awesome thing to see.

I like the dwarves as well. But IMHO, they have a much more interesting storyline right now and having them become playable characters would not work lore-wise. They are fighting Primordius and his Destroyer minions. They lost the sense of being mortal and have become one with Deldrimore and are immortal. But that does not mean we will never see them again. If and when we ever get to fight Primordius, I’m sure we will be working side by side with them if there is any left. If you really like Dwarves… the closest you are gonna get are the Norns. Though they are huge… they have similar personalities as dwarves in other stories. Plus… I’ve never seen a dwarven female in GW1…. or … have I…..?!?!?!?!?!??!!?!?!?!?

The first initial implementation of the living story was a complete flop. But you have been getting much better at it. I haven’t really felt that the events of the living story have any real effect on the actual world. And if it has, I don’t really feel the impact. What would have happened if the election went the other way? I do like the idea of meeting new characters. Rox and Braham are great.

So even though, in my opinion, you have gone short on your goal to make the living world have as much impact to the immersion players have in game. I think you have done quite well in giving us something entertaining to do. You are in the right direction and I hope you continue to listen to the players and improve the living story.

Side note: I hope you plan on doing something with the personal story. I know this virtually stopped after defeating our first Elder Dragon. I wish there was an actual reason to go back to my home instance besides mining rare minerals. I don’t know when you are going to do it, but I know I’m about ready to go after another Dragon.

Side-Side note: I’m still waiting for the shooting gallery in Divinity’s Reach and Polymock in Rata Sum. If you guys upgraded Polymock to be more like a “MOBA” game like SMITE. Maybe have the mobs be 8-bit versions of skritt (since the asurans view them as disposable).

This game is called Guild Wars 2. The only “Guild War” we’ve ever heard of involves infighting of early human guilds and kingdoms. It would be interesting to have an actual Guild War. Even if it involves us going into a new Fractal/The Mists via Coriolis Plaza in Lion’s Arch. Or reintroducing Guild Halls like what was done on Guild Wars 1, where matches involved taking turns fighting in each others “Guild Hall”. Guild Wars 2 is a great game in all respects. But I’d like to see some guilds warring in my Guild Wars 2.
