this solution worked for me too. putting both items in the starter back back (1st bag) then trying the transmute
try un-equiping both items, put them in your 1st bag (starter backpack) then try the transmute. i have seen others with this problem and that solution worked
bought a couple xp boosts and a crafting boost about 3 hours ago and still nothing.
