Armor and the way you equip it will not change. However you will have an additional Wardrobe button where you can change the appearance of what you have equipped. After the patch you’ll just have the option of using those armor models in the wardrobe.

Same I transmuted a T3 set with phalanx, would be nice if it would be unlocked anyway since its tracked by achievements…

You’ll actually be fine mate, read the update closely and they addressed this:

If you currently have items that have been transmuted, you will unlock the appearance for both the first item used for stats and the last item used for appearance in your final transmuted item. This means that if you have only transmuted a given item once (for example, if you’ve used a single Transmutation Stone to combine the appearance of Dawn with the stats of another greatsword) you’ll unlock the skins for both items in that transmutation.

Description in image.

Additionally, because I am a math geek on the forums (and a troll ingame, wait what?)

At the current market price of Gold -> Gems of 3.61g per 100 gems, it will cost 28.88g to buy this.

The item it mocks costs 88c for 25 uses, meaning 3.52c per use.

At the rate of .52c savings (yes, 0.52c savings per usage), it will take you 555384.615 salvages.

So yes, just like all the other infinite items, this is a convenience item, but it’s much less of a convenience item than the other items (since they pay themselves off a lot faster).

Better get salvaging, folks!

EDIT: Adding comma’s so you can tell just how much: 555,385 (rounded) salvages.

Very nice! I just did the math myself and used the far more conservative bet that someone would just buy gems rather than convert from gold and I did not use the actual exchange rate just assumed 20 gold per 800 gems which I admit is usually 1-2 gold less than you would receive. I came out with 399,872 uses before breaking even on the cost of not just buying basic salvage kits using a very conservative exchange rate.

Full disclosure, I did round the savings down by dropping the .02 of a copper and calling the savings .5 copper. Obviously I am grossly inaccurate but I gave up on total accuracy when I didn’t check the exchange rate. My math is close enough for me to say this isn’t worth it.

Honestly, unless this gets a pretty good buff there is no way I can ever see buying it. This is leaving aside that if the description is accurate and it has no chance to recover upgrades at all where even a basic kit has a 10 per cent chance… no thank you.
