“Inability to place conditions or marks on inanimate objects lengthens kill time and disproportionately effects necromancers.”

I kinda wish marks would trigger on them. However, not being able to place conditions on them isn’t really a problem. If it affects necros disproportionately, it isn’t a matter of fixing so conditions can damage them; it’s a matter of fixing so that direct damage builds are more viable on a necro.

I feel like necros aren’t too bad for direct damage though. Would be a lot better if we could reliably hit them while we were in our super-high-direct-damage-mode though – death shroud & lich form just missing them is hurting us a lot more. :\

On the subject of variety in farming - What is going on here?

Now, I can understand if one method of farming up is way better than the others; more so than it should be. If this is the case, yea, sure – That should probably be nerfed.

But why is it that we’ve had an across-the-board nerf to most ways to farm at high level?

Ok, so you don’t want people to just mindlessly grind for items – So you put in the loot lockout. Fair enough, I guess. I mean, I don’t like it. If I want to get some powerful blood, and it’s the most expensive thing on the market.. I should be able to go and farm some, right? And don’t get me started on Orr, which is mostly one type of mob. But whatever. If you think that’s too good, so be it. I mean, it’s way better than the other options. Right?

Wait, what? We can’t run dynamic events, either? If we chain them, we get a severely reduced penalty? Well, I guess if that’s what you want, there’s other things we can do to go earn stuff.

Oh hey, dungeons. Look at this. They’re pretty unrewarding. But some of them are short/easy enough to make up for that! Lets try that out.. Oh, nope, can’t farm those, either.

This leaves us with.. WvW? Which is alright for money, if you’re in a zerg, staying back, playing cautious. (Which is usually not a good zerg mentality – If two equal sized zergs meet, the one which aggresses is usually the victor). Playing smart in WvW isn’t great – If you try and do anything outside of the zergs, you’re vulnerable to dying. Dying is bad for your wallet.

I think what bothers me here is, everybody justifies this with “They want you to have variety! They want you to do the other options!”, but they nerfed options across the board. They didn’t just shut down the good options – They reduced all the methods of farming anything. This isn’t adding variety at all.

Meanwhile, everybody has been complaining about how money is. Personally, I’ve not had too many problems with paying for my waypoints and such… But hey. I’m resorting to vendoring items, since they vendor for more than they can be salvaged for.

So, to summarise?

People are complaining about not enoug money.

The farming lockouts are tedious and restrictive, not allowing people to go get things they need (And some items require 250 of these ingredients, as I understand it?), and are restrictive in Orr.

The dungeon lockout idea seems pretty fair, but they are extremely unrewarding (Especially considering some of the explorables can take a few hours of work)

Dynamic event chains.. People get reduced rewards without repeating a single chain. Why do you even have this many dynamic events running, if people are punished for trying to complete the chains?

WvW: Decent income, if you play stupid.

TL;DR – Add variety by giving more options, not by taking away options. Hell, in this case, there was variety before options were removed. Now anybody feeling dirt poor is relegated to going to WvW and sitting at the back of the zerg.

Exploit or not? Will I get banned for this?

Truly, for these things you wouldn’t get banned. If anything, they should just fix it or nerf it. But only if it gets to OP so just keep doing what you’re doing :]

Well, I would have said the same about the cheap karma weapons! That’s why I’m wondering if anyone has seen any word from this from arenanet so far :P

I think these are awesome ideas, as to how you would get a mesmer into a keep, thats another story, don’ think they would be considered exploits though

Hiding! Perhaps with some engineers putting up stealths for a while. strokes chin

And yea, I don’t think they should either. But lets say for example, stealth isn’t supposed to stack duration, and I don’t know about it. Would running around permastealth with 4 engineers blast finisher applying it be an exploit? That’s my concern here.

Lets just say I don’t want to end up banned, tell people I don’t think this deserves a ban because this is all I did, and then get told “Yea, everyone who gets banned lies about what they did”. I’m wondering if it’s been adressed by arenanet somewhere. If not, I’ll probably just take the risks for now, but yea

I feel like looking at current pattern, arenanet doesn’t ban people just based on if they performed a bad action, but on if it had negative effects/was done to an excessive extent or something. While this concerns me, I’m not here to complain about my concerns on that – I’m curious if anybody has seen any info which would clear up if the following things were considered “okay” or “exploit”.

1. Mesmer portal usage. Teleporting teammates into an enemy keep, or from the start to the end of a jump puzzle.

2. Long duration stealths – They seem to stack duration. I think it’s intentional, but I’m not sure? Could a group of people with smoke fields/blast combos keep a bunch of people stealthed in a keep, and then retake it? Would that be considered okay?

I feel like these are ridiculous things, but are capable using entirely legit game mechanics (Perhaps for intended potential uses – I don’t know this though :p)

Anyone seen any word on these things somewhere?
