I read on another post about marauders, but it was quite old so I wasnt sure if that was still true. I dont mind having to work towards a set of gear. I am going to go look into that now :-)
I changed mine to fit my reach, tiny hands :-)
Auto attack is on my mouse, a side button
Skills 2-5 I changed to QERT
Utilty/elite to 1-5
The F keys I left as is for now, but Im thinking of moving them down to ZXC or something. Maybe.
I like my autoattack or main attack (depending on the game) to be on my mouse. I can’t use the crazy 20 button mice, but my two side buttons are useful for the autoattack and push to talk. It just makes things a bit faster for me. Also having everything else where it is makes it much easier for me to find and not have to stretch or jump all over the keyboard.
Moving, i have those keys as default, and just use my left mouse to steer. I still occassionally use A/D on jumping puzzles to get the angle i want or doing midair direction changes. I have found its easier for me than strictly mouse for that sort of environment.
Ok so im gathering zerkers is what I would do better with, but my soldiers set isnt as bad as I was told. Well thats good. I have already purchased an Ascended Amulet, and one ring, which I should have enough in the next day or so for a second ring. Ok well, looks like I will go get some Zerker gear and supplement it with some of my soldiers.
Thank you everyone, I appreciate the responses :-)
First I am relatively new to the game, I know I am still learning the profession as well as the game. I only have one 80, and it is my beloved ele. I am still working on her personal story. I am not new to MMOs, i have a long love/hate relationship with WoW, and over the years have played most of the bigger titles. Then in November I started playing guild wars. So yes, although I have been playing almost daily since november, i still consider myself new. I have never been one to fly through leveling to get to end game. I enjoy the ride. Grinding… ugh… not my thing. The only reason I think I made it to 80 already is because the scaling feature.
I like to do everything. I enjoy pve- my story, jumping puzzles, fractals, world bosses…, i enjoy ebg making peoples walls suddenly not so safe as i rain firey presents down upon thier annoying arrowcarts they mistakenly placed too close to my range. I even enjoy an occasional roaming/havoc. I have not tried dungeons yet, but that is something I plan on doing soon.
I have gotten pretty good at changing my build for the situation, i run mainly staff air/fire/arcane, although ill swap arcane for water if the group needs it. Im not interested in healing but I know sometimes its needed and have no problem swapping and helping out. I mainly did healing in Wow but here, im enjoying breathing fire in someones face. Its very rewarding lol.
What I am having problems with is choosing gear. When I have asked others in the past I get vague responses like “full zerk”. As helpful as that would be to someone who has been playing for the last few years, that doesnt help me in the least when bezerker isnt an option for what i am choosing. Or my fave “power precision ferocity” ok, so this gear this vendor has has all of those.. ill get that. Nope. Wrong gear apparently. So now I am running in gear that isnt right, and I cant for the life of me figure out what i do need. I am working on my tailoring so at some point I can get ascended but until then I need something other than the soldiers gear I thought would be fine and isnt. This is the one major thing I cannot seem to figure out with this game. I am a little too used to wow in this area, main stat intellect and im good. Here… not so much. Not that I dont trust who I have asked in the past, but thier advice was vague so I figure asking here I may get a straight answer.
So my actual questions, am I going to need multiple sets for all the different game types I enjoy? Or is there one set to rule them all? Id like to get this settled before I get to the point I can make ascended anything, so I dont make the wrong thing. Right now I have Soldiers gear. Im managing but not as well as i know i can. I like my ebgs but if i get stuck one arrow cart can basically take me down. Also my personal story has gotten very difficult to get through. Ive been dying repeatedly before finally passing basically every part. Some of this i know is mechanics, i do figure out what is going to get me past it event but I feel like my lack of gear is a contributing factor. Back to the original questions, what gear would help me best, do i need multiple sets, if so what or can i get by with one set? Thank you in advance, I appreciate it alot :-)
Also, any suggestions on another profession I may enjoy long term? I have tried most of them but none have peaked my interest as much as ele. This would just be another character, hopefully one i can use in the same capacity as my ele, across multiple game types.
Thank you! I was worried about spending my points, in case I wouldnt have enough to get what I needed :-)
I recently started playing and am having an issue figuring out how to spend my hero points initially. I am speaking of the skills you can buy before level 30. I can see how they are built after that, but the first group still confuses me since most builds focus on the traits after that point. Now that I have decided which of my characters I am going to focus on, knowing how to spend her points correctly has become important. So how do you spend your points in the first section of skills? Do you buy everything or only what seems neccesary? Or save them all for the next section after lvl 30? I am using an Elementalist if that is any help.
