So my 50 unused points will be converted to Hero points. That would be great.
It seems that only skill points achieved outside of leveling and doing skill challenges will be converted to items after the core changes go in. So if I have a lvl 80 character who has 50 unused skill points, but all those skill points were acquired thru leveling and skill challenges, will I just lose those? And ultimately have a character with hero points to spend as though I only leveled up? Or will my hero point pool take into account the skill challenges I have accomplished while leveling?
press a button, wait 20 seconds. over and over.
it’s been over a year.
I’m not sure but if your saying players will be selected on tab first, but if I deselect and start tabbing again I get whatever is closest? Not good enough.
I DON’T WANT TO EVER TAB A MINION.
I’LL MAKE THIS BOLD CAUSE I’M F’IN kitten ED!
WHEN I TAB THRU TARGETS, I SHOULD NOT TARGET ENGINEER TURRETS OR NECROMANCER MINIONS! JUST PLAYERS!
I HAVE TO TAB 5 TIMES TO GET TO THE NECRO, BY THEN I’M HALF DEAD.
Night of 9/14. Jade Quarry/Blackgate/Sanctum of Rall Eternal Battlegrounds.
So much lag is not doable at all.
It’s been a year.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. The mmo that understands solo players still need the mmo environment for markets and dynamic events, deserve a presence in the mmo and the ability to progress without having to team up with other players as a requirement, is going to be the next big mmo.
Give me the ability to take npcs into a dungeon or fractal similar to the npcs who assist me in my personal story. You started a great game around your changes to how leveling works, but fell short with the same expectations about end game that other mmos do. In gw1, you had something you should not have let go of when it comes to instanced play. Wise up, stop wasting time with adventure boxes and bring back the hero. You’ll have a huge hit on your hands eternally, instead of just pre-release.
The Living Story content, vs the claim made by Anet about how the Living Story is developed and presented is discouraging. The claim ‘was’ that gw2 ‘is’ the most active mmo in the presentation of ‘new content’ by offering it up bi-weekly. Ok this sounds great. Time to play again.
So I get involved in the Scarlet invasions. Finish the Vorpp achievement and then everything is taken away before I get a chance to experience the Fun House. This is similar to the other content ‘added?’ in other releases. THIS IS NOT ADDING NEW CONTENT. It is temporary stuff to do and often the end result is either half filled achievements (also taken away) or plainly, the content is removed.
I understand the invasions had to be temporary due to the resources required. But this type of content generally is a precursor to a permanent addition of substantial new content. In gw2’s case, it’s a bi-weekly series of events that lead basically to nothing. Same game as before. I didn’t get to participate in some of the other living story content and now it represents nothing except memories from those who did.
The enhancements, like changing the magic find, are great to have occur frequently. But YOUR NOT PROVIDING ANY NEW CONTENT. Stop fooling yourselves and your players.
Announce an expansion, but do something to set gw2 apart. Don’t just add some zones, another race, and/or a couple of dungeons. Come up with something as exciting as the dynamic event system, or changing the face of leveling as you did in the original release.
The super fun adventure was a waste of time. It has nothing to do with the game. And all content from biweekly releases is taken away. Your NOT ADDING ANYTHING.
It’s not bugged. It’s bad design or planning.
I don’t believe they start every hour. I also can’t believe some of the one’s I’ve tried to get in we’re active for more than 10 minutes since I was watching for the messages.
Protect the quaggans from the krait needs to be fixed.
This is a level 60 heart with level 64 kraits. The return on egg collection is too small.
This achievement is much more difficult due to frequent placing of my character into the overflow where the scarlet invasions don’t exist and the message appears that I need to try again later.
If you can’t handle the volume of traffic, don’t apply the content. Or at least make sure the invasion always occurs in the overflow as well.
Protect the Vigil Team doesn’t work either.
WHAT IS WRONG WITH BLOODTIDE IN GENERAL?
Also Defeat the Risen Attackers and Defend the Quaggan Guards. Doesn’t work either.
This apparently hasn’t worked since December ’12. There are other threads here and also on the guru sight with responses from devs stating it would be fixed.
Still hasn’t been fixed. Girl stands in cave and mentions a diversion. No pirates around. What am I missing…
I never thought I would go back and play gw1 after gw2 came out…
YES lets take Dungeons and make them Solo style in Guild Wars 2 a MMORPG, which stands for Mass Multi Online Role Playing Game. Lets throw to the side that this game; Guild Wars 2, main premise is to get people to work together as a team and a group, rather than Alone. I mean I am not 100% sure here but I am thinking if Arena Net and NC Soft didn’t want this game to be focused around those Ideals they would have just gone with how Guild Wars worked.
Since Guild Wars you had heroes and you could solo everything minus the Underworld.
I’m so tired of responses like this. MMO can ‘stand for’ so many benefits of a shared world without requiring you to coordinate at any time with anyone. The markets, helping each other in the open world in events, a reason for crafting besides a legendary, and so on. The mmo that understands that most people don’t want to coordinate their time and strategy around even one other person will be the mmo that runs away with the next 15 million strong player base.
The 10% of people who enjoy hanging with other people online will continue to argue against this rationale, because they like playing with their friends. So what? So stand in a city with your friends, and up the difficulty level and play with them if you want. I still maintain that solo content is the way to go, even in the mmo, as a definition of a run away success.
Skyrim is a wonderful game and all content is solo. And yet, as an older solo player who can’t stand coordinating with a bunch of 20 somethings who should be completely happy with it, I still feel empty when playing it. An mmo is about people just being there, being around, but not a requirement for me to achieve anything. And there is nothing wrong with that. Wise up anet. Don’t resist the obvious. You didn’t put in any kind of decent grouping functionality and you want people to play like they want. I’m seeing the living world stuff leaning towards grouping. Big mistake.
There have been a lot of complaints about nerfing farming. Dontain had a video on this way back in Nov of ’12. Other vets as well. So beyond scaling, it is obviously a problem.
But I think if anet is risking the backlash, there is a good reason. What if they need gem store support in order to keep a large staff to fix problems, put out new content etc… until an expansion is ready for purchase? Are we going to stop playing because we can’t farm? Or try to overlook it until the game has had time to get enough content to rate with the reigning monster of things to do…
Today we all expect a game to come out of the gate having everything a 10 year old behemoth has. Look at this game, the effort so far, and tell me anet is not committed to it. If I’m wrong, and they focus on gem store stuff more than making new content and coming up with original ideas as they have in the past, they will ultimately pay for it with their jobs.
Let’s give them the benefit of the doubt, it’s not like we’re paying subs.
LanfearShadowflame, what is missing in endgame achievements? What makes you want to roll around as a level 80? I never should have said gear grind…
Vayne, I am a member of a good guild. I’m just more of a lone player who wants to have plenty to do at level 80. And as I said, I’m not even there yet, so I can’t complain about what is here to do now. I’m just concerned with the exodus of players, if indeed that has happened. I don’t really even know that.
I just want this game to thrive.
Ok forget the gear grind comment. I would ask the developers to ask themselves the question, ‘What will make every player want to do endgame pve?’
I’ll admit I’m ignorant to alot of what is in the game. I’ve only leveled one character to 73. I wasn’t around for the laurels. Sorry about the lack on knowledge.
I just couldn’t wait to post some kudos and a few recs.
I maxxed out on gw2 around Dec ’12. Too many characters leveled from 1 to 20. And I watched alot of vids from vets who were complaining about endgame. I left.
A few days ago I played another mmo that is in open beta. I have been searching for something. ARPGs, MMOs, RPGs. I need to be playing something. That is just me, however sad that might be… As I started ‘Neverwinter’, I started making mental comparisons of things that mean the most to me. Combat fluidity for example. Leveling is something I’ve wanted to see updated and changed for so many years, only GW2 decided to improve it, I thought.
I thought about GW2 more. I went back in yesterday afternoon. And remembered why this game is so great. Ok mistakes are there. Hardcore players have problems with endgame. WvW isn’t panning out. But this game is so far ahead of anything else released in the last 4 years, and probably for the next 2 years, I said ‘How can I deny this game? this effort?’
So I’m back. The changes to the leveling process alone. The beauty of the world. The solid combat. Ever try to dodge in Neverwinter? What a joke. GW2 is the only game except WoW that is solid. And I would rather babysit my grandmother than level in Warcraft.
I’m having so much fun again getting lost in the world. Finding myself off on tangents for hours before I realize I need to get back to my story. Getting lost in it. You guys did a great job.
1) Leave WvW alone for awhile and focus on something for pve endgame that is unique. In GW1, the hero system was fantastic. So much strategy. So different than any other game. Of course it couldn’t be carried into GW2 at the same level due to the need for instancing. But who says it couldn’t be implemented into dungeons? I know the hardcore raider types will crack on this idea. But I’ve been around. And I know that if you put something in place that allowed solo dungeoning. Dungeoning? It would take off. People argue it and say ’It’s an mmo! You’re suppose to play with other people!’ Well sure. And when I’m out leveling I love the design in gw2 where I can help others. Join in on events. See people in cities. Enjoy the benefits of an economy and markets. But the mmo that decides to take on a endgame pve with solo content and advanced mercenary system will be the next great mmo.
2) Tie pvp and wvw back to the pve character some how. I love going in and playing pvp, but it seems disconnected.
3) Somehow expand on a gear grind, yes, I hate to say it, but something beyond cosmetics.
I am so amazed at this game.
This is my story. This is my mmo.
