I agree with the OP. yes, pets are a part of your damage, but what damage am i getting when pets are 80% of the time dead? Yes bears have more survivability, but maybe i dont want to always have to use a bear. Some of us dont want to reroll because we have already spent alot of time in our ranger. Some of us just like the idea of being a ranger vs playing “the best class in the game”. I would really like if a-net would implement maybe having aggressive type pets (ones that jump in bite/claw the crap out of mobs) and passive type pets (ones that stay by your side and buffs u when u activate their F2 ability) they are already in the game like fern hounds cast a regen, or brown bears clear debuffs. But the thing with them is, they run to the mob before casting it next to u, and then they immediately become aggressive and start attacking. Then u are forced to try and recall them all while ur already busy moving about attacking. And by saying “stand by my side” i literally mean, by my side and not 10 yards away aggroing stuff im not trying to aggro.
I got a little off topic but yes. I would like to see a perma-stow that persists thru combat, or at least a perma-passive that u can activate their F2 skills without them running off.

to me i feel like shortbow axe/horn is the best combination pve-wise. u never have to worry about going max distance or having your dps kittened because a mob closes in on you. both can apply slows for kiting situations, and both can apply conditional damage (bleeds) and u also get a nifty buff to u and ur group. as much as i love to see those big numbers with lb’s vulnerable and rapid fire, and barrage has a nice aoe, but it just doesnt seem enough for long battles in dungeons and such. and sb/lb combo u need to constantly move forward and backwards because they have different ranges. i understand this game is very action oriented making you move around alot, but i find myself more so strafing left and right, vs forward backwards. just my 2 cents =P

purchased 1600 gems last night, 200 was left over from my last purchase, so i had 1800 in total this morning. tried to buy a pet pack, and 300 gems were deducted but i did not recieve mail or a prompt or anything. i tried again (for reasons i dont know, maybe i was impatient and trigger happy with the mouse clicks) but as of right now, i have 900 gems, and no pets. in my recent purchases it only shows that i tried to purchase 2 pet packs (600 gems worth). so in conclusion, i have 900 gems missing with no items to show for it.
