Switched to 64bit client. Same problem as 32bit client – freezes & crashes when updating client. Finally managed to wrangle a crash report and send it to ANet. Usually it doesn’t even load one regardless of which client version. Recently updated drivers again and still the same problem.

PC Specs:
*Lenovo Z400
*Windows 10
*64bit
*INTEL CORE i7-3632QM
*4GB RAM

  • NVIDEA GeForce GT 645M

I posted a couple of pages ago with my issues and PC specs. I’m going to try the 64bit client soon but I’m feeling a bit wary about that. Currently, every time my GW2 client crashes when updating it doesn’t give me the option to send/save an error report. It just freezes and quits unexpectedly. As previously mentioned, I’ve followed instructions to find crash logs but there don’t seem to be any. Is there a way around this to get the error report/crash log so it’ll be easier for ANet? I’d like to know if this is a problem from the game or a hardware issue (with the 4GB RAM) as some players have mentioned. I’ve previously had no problems before my hiatus with the game on the same laptop so I’m not sure what’s happening.

whoa it’s a relief of sorts to know I’m not the only one having issues with GW2 client. I came back to GW2 after a year long hiatus to discover I can’t even log in because the client keeps crashing every time it’s updating. I’ve tried deleting .dat files, running the client repair + clean uninstall & reinstalling as mentioned in old posts but nothing seems to work? I don’t know if it’s relevant but I didn’t purchase HoT.

Lenovo Z400, 64bit/Windows 10/4GB RAM/Intel® Core i7-3632QM/NVIDEA GeForce GT 645M

I’ve tried to follow the FAQ instructions/instructions in forum posts to find the crash log but I can’t seem to be able to find it though
