is this kind of bad memory covered by warranty?
i build a whole new pc for gw2
only a few hours befor gw2 launched i installed a fresh windows 7 x64 home premium
windows updates came in one after other and i spend more time playing than updating.
at one point sp1 appeared in the update list but i didnt install it for some more days…
at one day i decided its time to install it.. already then gw2 didnt work anymore.. i submit a bug report and revert to old windows.. lucky me it worked after that… so whenever new updates came out i had to deselect sp1 so it wouldnt install.

now i think its time, i installed a bunch of other things and sp1 is a must-have… but gw2 is not working with it… i wanted to buy w8 today but my cc has some issues…

i really dont think i have bad memory.
using corsair vengeance. but just in case ill check …

i did run more updates after sp1.. i think 4 hotfixes
hdd issue, hm maybe, i know there is a new firmware for my ssd
but why only guildwars, everything else is fine for now…
disabled virtual memory.. no changes..

1. i cannot start my client
2. i cannot start my backup client
3. a fresh downloaded downloader downloads a new version and crashes

why? i installed service pack 1 for windows 7 x64 home
fix: nothing but revert to old version and dont install sp1

i did this two month ago, not doin it again.
maybe windows 8 can fix it.

other things i tried:
combatibility mode
admin mode
driver update
checked writing permissions.

its true, it has a long learning curve, but really, it isnt that hard.
ive tried 2h untill i finally figured out how to jump.
you need to jump at the right spots at the right time.
i did it on the biggest norn and had 1 and a half turns around the tower time to enjoy the view and time the last jump. actually after i knew what to do i finished it with all my 9 characters in less than 30min. i liked the challannge and it kept me pumped and on adrenaline. i think you did everything right. if people cant figure out how to jump there they dont deserve the slippers. and if they think farming candy was a better way to kill time then they made the wrong decicion at first…

also its called the mad tower and people really got mad for not beeing able to make it.. i think it was just perfect…

i dont think its possible to make 10g in 3-4 days for at least one recipe by normal playing so there is a high chance that you can always craft them the recipes with mf

problem is they didnt even mask it..
make 50% bl key sale, add bl keys to drops,
sell more + happy customers

currently i feel they try to kill the playerbase xD

i really hope there is stuff to come,
because currently im also not happy with the results.

someone in chat said if they sell the weapons for $10
everyone is goin to wear them and diversity is lost..
i could see that happening unless not something even cooler is added.

however…
$1000 weapon skins (not stats/ no different skills)
money eating slot maschines.. i dont know.. maybe ncsoft fault?

still, very greedy and ruthless…
i dont see a reason for that…
if you need content creator, i have free time…

finally i can log in, it was about time..
first of all, lol jihoko you clearly have no idea what your talkin about…

legendary weapons got introduced shortly before launch and after the mystic forge appeared the first time in bwe2. they are the current endgame. the word “legendary” doesnt say that only a few chosen people should ever be able to own them.. what kind of philosophie is that? not the one of a great game. so you are wrong, everyone should be able to obtain everything. its a game! the only things you cannot have are owned by gamemasters and developers.

legendary weapons were never intended to be in the game.. thats why ghastly weapons look better at night than most legendarys all the time. but how do you keep people interrested in the endgame if they dont want to level another char, run dungeons all the time or zerg in wvw.. they need a long term goal…. and so the legendary’s were born.

actually while doin my story quest my sylvari npc friend owned a legendary weapon which is not obtainable by any player… dont know the name currently…
however.. at first the idea was that legendary weapons reflect the hard work you did and that you spent some quality time ingame…

now the current system is clearly quickly put together.. the receip at bwe for legendary were different, more easy, too easy… but actually, there is nothing (but legendary) ingame that will take you more than two weeks to obtain.

how do you make it that people need more time than two weeks?
two weeks for a legendary was not long enough..

i have an idea.. make it need 2000 token of each dungeon…
but then we have a problem, those items only stack in 250
too much inventory, or not? would be only a little sacifice…

however.. the current system of GAMBLING i cannot support.
there is nothing legendary about it.. why not open a casino?
let us play poker and blackjack..
lol send out yearly emails and one in a million gets a legendary.

my normal daily income is around 2-4 gold a day, maybe sometimes only 1 gold (which are 2-4 dungeon runs! no failgroups included) and yeah i dont farm in cursed shore, maybe i should.. but why? to destroy everything in the forge for a chance?

ill only reply to the first post as i have no time to read peoples opinions on that, need to farm alot more now..

you forget that level 80 exotic gear is a must have to matter in the game, if its dungeon running or pvp.. you should not run arah if you are not full exotic, it will make things unnesseary hard, with exotic gear your able to enjoy the full dungeon.
it still wont be easy.. but its way more comfortable to do.

same with wvw, people now do have exotics, ull have a hard time in wvw if not in a zerg with exotics, because ull get wiped…

so you finally reached level 80, what you now need is exotic gear..
so you have to start farming it…

now i dont see whats wrong with a 15min cof run.
i can make AC in 30 min, but only get level 60 gear.
i always can farm the first boss only wich gives 5 token in 5min

i saw cof as a starter dungeon, everone who reached 80 wanted to run dungeon like arah, get the best things, but nobody was able to defeat lupicus, noone had exotics.. untill we figured the fastest way to farm our first set (to finally matter in the game) it was cof.. 3-4 days, full set… now we could keep on farming it for the money, or anytime we need some cash..

or just concentrate on all the other stuff to do, dungeons to farm and sets to collect, cuz now we are full exotic and only have to worry about looks.

now let me talk about your “fixxes”:

reduce the reward of story modus?
-sorry but the reward of story modus is salvage or vendor material basicly it already was trash, the rare set that you introduced shortly befor launch do suck, i bet noone ever has spent any token on that, i dont know if you noticed, but they all look the same, now you even reduced the rewards? i mean cmon…. you NEED TO make the player want to play the game, give the boss a great sword, at the end of the fight let the player loot the sword, that kind of stuff, make it rewarding to play the game.. currently we dont see any rewards, thats why we speedrun, to get the real rewards which you put a incredible amount of time needed to farm it anyhow..

it is not right to run a dungeon for 3-4h and only get 20-30 token where you need 1300 for a full armor set.. it is just not rewarding enough

too much other things to do in the game, too much other characters to play… so people will always use the fastest way to get what they want..

sure i see your problem, if people farm 1 set in one week, after 3-4 month they got them all.. but i think its up to you then to introduce more set, more weapons, now you can start make them hard/long to get.

stop trying to stop people from shortcutting, work on ways to keep them busy after they reached the goal of the shortcut.

like i looted exactly 1 moten lodestone while farming 1000 token in cof…
and i need how much? 100 stones? now it will take even longer…. i mean cmon, give me a reward for spending the time playing….
