Same feeling, so much risks, no reward and no utility in wvw
Zin: are you serious? it would be stupid and a really bad mechanics!! it would makes peoples with barrier unkillable that’s so stupid XD
and for people that doesn’t click you do what? xD double the F skills? x)
but yeah the mechanics doesn’t feel nice to play, maybe just a sec less cooldown and as Zintrothen said, making 1 sec cd to go twice in the same attunment! would be better.

I’d like to share my experience as a wvw ele player. I only tried sword/dagger, dagger/dagger and my beloved staff.
Weaver is useless in wvw.
I’m really sad to say that cause the mechanics you created is interesting and imply eles to relearn completly the class and that could have been good BUT:
- some skills lock us down, wich is the best way to get killed in wvw. For exemple, pile driver lock me down and that’s a skill that should work like lightning surge so I should be abble to move. Mud slide stops before leaping in d/d. And sword is worse! Earten wortex .. ok I can eventually understand this one but even so, rust frenzy > wtf, hundred blades with so less damage and more than double cooldown than warrior?
At least, if I have to take risks, I want a reward! Sword skill, as a mele weapon, you should never stops moving cause not moving is dying in this game mode (wvw).
- The mechanics of half my skills switch at a time doesn’t allow us to react! we have to predict since all our survival skills are on 3 and 4 skills. I mostly think about staff magnetic aura, the geyser, windborn speed and burdning retreat. So, at this states, it feels terrible if I’m in a awkward position as you can easily be. I always have to equip unravel and so that lowers down my dps while making me easier to kill. That’s sad but it’s the mechanic
- the general cooldown feels really damageable. I think I can get use to it as I did for tempest but if so … make 2nd skill cd lower and makes AA better :/ The classic skills CD doesn’t really work with such a mechanic. Maybe lower the attunment cd down to 2 or 3 sec?
- I do not have anything to help my party. That’s manly the reason it doesn’t have a place in wvw even if you managed to bested the gameplay and work around the cooldown. In wvw, everyclass need to be usefull to the group. Guardian are man stability and the core of the group and tankyness and some healing, War will come back thank to your work since now it has a purpose as a great debuffer, necro has always be great thanks to debuff and damage now it debuff even more and grants barrier, mesmer toolkit is unique and makes it uselful wathever build you run, druid heals re quite appreciable, tempest heals and mitigate damage thanks to his aura. What does weaver do? It’s a selfish class, that doesn’t do anything special to enemies and grant nothing to the group. That’s the main reason staff ele and now eles in general are disapearing from wvw. A long time ago, we were masters of the combo fields, now there’s so much ways to gives boons and heals that no one care’s about combo and even if … too many better classes can grant our more or less unique field we had (guard is stronger and gives fire field, lightning fields, WATER field and light field (that we can’t give))
- Damage: I thought it was the purpose of the class. But from what I tried, it’s the lower dps elite specialisation you made. Holosmith and necro are once again far better at damage that ele has ever be. The main problem is that you balance your game based on pve. Classic staff ele has dispear cause you nerfed our staff so much and gave other classes so much that now we feel useless to comanders. In opposition to mesmer, we have nothing unique and end up as ranger and inge have been for years: not bad in every aspect but great in none. There’s always a class that does better or as great but with more survivability.
My point is ele is fun to play but you makes it always harder and harder to be usefull in wvw. the weaver mechanics is really interesting and your work could have been so great and fun to play but it ends up 100% more ocmplicated to play that any other classes with no utility. It’s a class where you HAVE TO take risks (as thief) but with absolutly NO REWARDS.
In the end, I think the only spot that the weaver could fill in is dual pvp and counter periphery (focus party) that .. doesn’t exist anymore cause no one plays with ranged classes anymore. Maybe PoF will change the meta but I don’t think weaver can ever have a place in wvw. Weaver cahnges the gameplay but adds nothing to our kit, classic ele is the same but less melee (if you know what i mean)
and slightly a small note about why you didn’t open this spec beta to pve maps? we couldn’t play since they were so many pve players that wanted to try skills on mobs that we couldn’t correctly entered map and once on it no coms and peeps bashing mob close to spawn? Oo same with pvp, too many peeps that wanted to try the specs on golems that none was abble to try it properly :/

You know that the game is already really heavy and that there’s a lot of lags on both side. Also, shins is a kinda heavy graphic part, if all eles were changing colors and armor when there switch attunment it would kill servers basicaly (wvw servers for sure but even pve ones)
And it’s useless basicaly.
Well, their issue is because they tried to only put same native language server together. Let take a step back, why not just focus one thing, either language or balance, you can’t have both.
In NA, in off hours, there are servers filled with people that typed chinese, koreans, japanese, malay, thai, brazil and etc. It is a big problem? Do they have huge problem playing together with the western despite having language barrier?
You’re right but things have been settle by languages for 4 whole years. I can’t talk for german but I can for french people .. do you know how much they are stubborn? How much they love drama? I don’t think so! Jade sea got some international guilds in the past and it tooks like at least 3 guilds before dramas stopped. French have been so awfull to international guild that every and each have left saying this servers is horrible. I guess they are right. Some people like getting mixed up but those on national servers are there cause they don’t wanna be mixed.
If national servers weren’t existing at starts, your solution would have been great but 4 years later .. it’s a bit late to wake up and say “maybe that wasn’t a good idea”.
+ each servers have a big organisation for themself. Linking once can pass but that’s actually a pretty huge mess since it’s changing every 2 months …. That’s retared … how can you organize?
And how much this mess will be if you mix languages organisation in the middle?
it’s ok to talk diferent languages .. but building up an organisation with diferent languages that will change every 2 months is just unrealistic
Moving a tier 4 servers to a tier 1 is not making it competitive in their tier .. it’s just bullkitten .. sry
On the other side … I’m really sad for ag and drakkar.. must be really boring to be in front of dead Gunnar ‘s Vabbi. Dead + dead stay dead .. in front you have FSP problem x)
I don’t mind my server being more or less dead .. just don’t put zerg in front of us x)
ANd did you think in your calculation that it was summer break?

I got one question: Why did you made servers such as gunnar “Full”? Even if it’s linked it’s still empty as kitten. In front you have jade sea with queu on week end daytime that is not full.
Ok I have been abble to move on FoW wich is link to gunnar so I can play with friends but when You’ll “redistribute worlds” as you say in you first post.. I’ll simply be kittened. It wouldn’t be such a problem if switching servers wasn’t that expensive.
I’m not playing much and not pve much so getting money is really anoying … and gem’s price is so High …
Have you think about this kind of problems and like .. will do something about it? Like when you’ll change propose people to choose wich server they wanna stay on? (stupid cause for deo/vabbi everyone will say Deso)
Tbh I paid aournd 150 for 500 to go on FoW to play with friends on Gunnar cause It’s full and that I was sick of Non-playing on Jade sea. When you’ll “redistribute” I’ll be kittened up again cause I’ll be separated from friends again. So If gunnar is full I’ll be screwed and if not I’ll just have to pay … 500gems to get there … wich means to me … a month or more of non playing cause I don’t wanna pve all day long. (yes I’m pretty bad at doing money).

you forgot the 50% less damage on icebow XD they will not want you anymore for this one x)
- In WvW if you get the might by using cantrips instead of blasting the 2 fire fields with your friends… you will be dead really fast if focus fired or area bombed
Oh yes I forgot wvw was only scrims and gvgs when you can buff before … their’s also some ele that use blink in aggressive ways sometimes or during meteor cast time … and yes might is really appreciate at that time .
Now if you play cele staff ele as a kitten … good job

note: Heat Sync is currently over-performing in its ability to spread all boons to allies. We’ll be looking to narrow down the boons it can spread, to just the Might boon, in order to keep its purpose more clear.
Why only might? … seriously if it’s not all but I don’t know 3/4 boons that you share it’s ok but if it’s only might it become a totally useless skill … I don’t need to share might since all classes are abble to stack might easily … I prefere sharing the others boon … too me changing that just kills all the purpose .. why Having a kittening awsome boon duration if it’s not to share my boons!!

The thing is other classes like rev’s elite spec has that +50% boon duration making boon share beyond strong. Its better to go over to revs forms and say something about an op effect like this and how its going to “nerf” other classes who work too well with it.
Ok but .. remove the skill then since might is already the easiest stackable buff … I is going nowhere … I wanted to try tempest now … I just don’t wanna at all anymore cause all classes do everything better that what is proposed for ele … rip

I’m trying tempest ele since yesterday.
The first thing i could say is: good job with warhorn, I really like it. You’ve added a blast and that’s great it was really needed! I usually play zerker blackline staff ele and this warhorn really made me want to play support cc, heal, boon share.
BUT that’s all… I’ve tried shouts and only flash freeze is worth using, the elite is half bugged in wvw … and the other are ever not worth it or the coolddown freeze me so I don’t wanna play it.
Not even talking about overload that I just .. don’t use at all. bAnimation are nice but .. I can’t stay in one attunement spamming one waiting for a skill that isn’t overbuffed or anything … would it be in 1v1 nor in wvw … I’ll just get killed for a normal skill cause .. that doesn’t give me enough for me to take the risk using it … (it would be something like the warior F1 I ay reconcider but it’s not). Cause yes, you’ve powered up the damage but .. it’s still awfully a long cast and a melee attack .. any other classes come hit you, do damage to you or even interrupt you and .. you have : awful cd + not much damage done cause interrupted + you’re dead cause to do correct damage with it you have to be zerk + melee…
I may forget things … but well ..
last thing to say is .. I would add some dispel to aura or I don’t know but I really feels like .. if I wanna be the support I choose to be .. I’m really vulnerable to condi .. I heal but I hardly dispel… I could change traits obviously but then I wouldn’t heal as I want to do.
To finish I tryed it zerker and .. it works quite good it’s fun but .. not as effective as double dagger or scepter fresh air :x

I’m sorry but .. I can’t kittening offer to pay 50 euros and not having even a single character slot … how do you want people to seriously not taking anet for … fools?
what if I only want the expansion and a character slot? I don’t mind the rest … I kittening don’t mind a finisher or anything else …. just the expansion and … a character slot .. and I hope for 30 euros (or even 50) and not 75 euros …

I would have to say that i disagree with increasing cooldown while reducing damage.
Also, I feel as though Staff needs better Soft and Hard CC. Meaning:
-Eruption needs to pulse crippling effect. The ground is literally shaking at their feet, why are they moving at the same speed.
-Unsteady ground should work even if the enemy has stability. People can walk around or teleport over it anyways :/. Hell some even glitch through it.Also, itd be cool if ice spike, summoned a hailstorm instead on a location instead of what we get now.

that eruption cripple ok, I like this idea but that our earth wall working with stab is totally ridiculous, the stab have already been nerfed so let’s it work on everything at least Oo. but it shoulb be nice if it worked like the guard like, I mean, till it’s here you shouldn’t be abble to pass without stability wich is not the case actually (after being interrrupting once you can pass … )
I mostly agree with your change. Those change does make them OP but improve them.
I only disagree, as the other people before, on dragon tooth that shold be ground targeting (less usefull in wvw to kill siege but better for other things) and I don’t think the healing rain need change. It’s a long cast but rewarded by the big area. it’s all about timing and I don’t think a change is needed here.. staff is a slow weapon so it makes the caster in danger. If you change things like cast time on aoe for lower efficacity. It would be ever to OP or totally uselss :/
It’s only my opinion obviously.
Their’s 1 things sad, and it’s true for every classes, it’s that we will no longer be abble to have more than 3 traits lines and that we won’t be abble to mix them (by that I mean putting 6 points in a trait line and use 2 masters instead of one master one grandmaster).
That’s sad but ok.
For the arcana line as it is now or it will be at the release if nothing change .. I’ll still take it out of “dungeons rush zerk without sustain build”.
If you want to nerf it by asking us to make choice between elemental attunement and evasive arcana. Well I hate that but ok. But at least give us some good trait in master.

For the “broken op ele” debate/discution. Well, before I agree, ele was really strong in wvw (since I’m mostly playing I won’t really talk about pvp). Celestial was awsome really fantastic sustain and awsome damage. After being nerfed nerfed and nerfed again, we go full zerk with a bit vitality to deal less damage and still getting os by retal or cp team. Now we’ll win what? 2 traits that for me I’ll take in water and we’ll lose our best boons incame :/
Ele isn’t really healer > it gives combo field but it’s the finisher that heal not the field so our only effective out going healing is switching water and rolls in water o/
not worth it imo.
Tanky ele is a joke .. useless and hum .. useless they’re not meant for it
AOE damage is the best things to take in ele for a build (and it’s CC but it does influence your gear). and it’s most of the time suicide to do those damage, only one mistake and your dead.
Some says ele is faceroll class but if it is, what are the other class? Oo Don’t think it’s broken but it’s true that it can be usefull in every part of the game if well played and well used. It’s also true for guard/war/mesmer/thief.
Necro lack in pve for some reason :/ inge are nice but not “as good as” or “as essential as” other class like some says. FOr the ranger it start slowly getting its place but I stilll think the up they got wasn’t the good ones..

You should always take a “soon” as an “on a release day” once the bug has been fixed. I don’t have control over when the fixes happen, I just see them in the pipeline working their way on out to live…
If this bug was as easy as “boom it happens” this thread wouldn’t be 14 pages long. There is something else happening, and that “something” isn’t clearly defined, likely because nobody knows what it is, and is the catalyst for the bug. That’s what we’re working on and it’s why I posted so you wouldn’t feel as if you’re being ignored.
I can understand that fixing can sometime be harsh but .. why not give the item to a merchant so we can have it without the succes till you fix it .. cause here it’s ridiculous .. We can’t have our succes/skins/scendent armor piece/jewel just cause of a bug …
It’s already been long enouth so you can at least do that … until the bug it fix than remove it from the merchant if you want.
I don’t need the ascendent armor piece in 6 month but now … and I’m not staying all the time in pve doing all the succes to be blocked like that .. it’s even more anoying for those who bougth it..
I’m not raging cause the bug isn’t fix but cause you don’t do anything to let the playing having something in return .. or an other way to get the jewel while the bug isn’t fix.
Their’s no solution you just have to bare with it :‘(
and going offline isn’t the solution cause you’ll not be abble to see you guild chat anymore … or being wisp by someone of your side as friend wanting to play with you ^^"
