Culling will be fixed soon according to ANET. My prediction is that this will add more skill lag, which will then be fixed by ANET. So we will go from complaining about culling to complaining about skill lag.
Personally skill lag is far worse to me than culling. I can AoE the air to deal with culling, I can’t AoE at all with skill lag…
Good fights on KN BL last night, but skill lag was horrible. I think some fights were won by who could spam 1 more and maybe get off an aoe… Personally, while I know they haven’t fixed culling, if this is on the road to that fix, I would rather have culling lol…
I do notice an improvement in our EU and NA time. I am not sure if its due to transfers or our crews putting in overtime and skills improvement. If its from our crew, please don’t burnt yourselves out. The fight ahead is long. If its from transfers, allow me to welcome you. I look forward to fighting beside you. ^^
FA pushed real hard over the weekend during those times. We haven’t really gained anyone, just there are less FA out at that time now.
Golems are easy to stop if you have scouts. They do eat up paper gates fast, but a few superior arrow carts and they are doomed.
If 80 people show up, they don’t need golems and are just zerg bored with nothing better to do.
Personally, I think towers and keeps are too easy to take overall.
This already happens with doliaks, but with players it would be a bad thing? I dont see warbands defending a doliak to prevent the enemy realm from getting X points gain.
Neither would people stop playing to prevent enemy point gains, because the desire of playing the game is superior to that, and “half” the wPvP playerbase doesnt really care about scoring in its current form.
At least this way half of what you do in wPvP would actually matter, instead of just pvp door and time coverage.
Dolyaks favor the underdog side. If you just killed dolyaks and never flipped a camp on a map that was completely the other sides…..
And after playing a pvp game that had a rating system based on deaths/points, yes, people would stop playing due to dieing. “Don’t feed them” will be the new battle cry. Right now the best people can come up with for not fighting is the repair bill.
Now that the weekdays have rolled out… maybe you’ll start to notice the population declines… especially during the morning hours.
The lot of half empty servers of “wvwvw” players, not players in total will start to lose interest without the proper player balance.
Until there are only a few servers concentrated into the top tier of remaining servers oblivious to their surroundings.
Claiming their thrones out of default instead of balance and challenge.
This is the doom of every MMO with poor management and planning.
The END GAME is scattered, bugged with culling and unrewarding for #1.
Hate to sound like a troll, but the players and devs seem to be blissfully ignorant.
They do need to do something with the WvW reward structure. There is really no reward at all for most after they finish the 500 badges for a legendary.
Honestly, they really haven’t done squat for WvW since launch.
This only promotes more zerging and the higher pop/better coverage servers will just get more ppt for it.
I never understood why ANET divides the servers by NA/EU, but not Oceanic/Asiatic too. Seems to be the same thing to me. But then again, we had the same thing in DAoC. So it must be a deployment/financial decision.
It forces you to leave scouts and actually keep an eye on things you have taken. We rotate people in and out of objectives (keeps and towers) during our raids, so no one person has to sit there all night.
Learn to not wear Beserker gear in WvW….
Maps need to be larger and more spread out objectives. Most modern MMOs (post WoW) try to allow you to get back to the action to fast. Would people sit for 15 minutes like we did in old frontiers DAoC to port back to a BL after a wipe nowadays?
Second HB video from this matchup is up, showing first 5 hours of last nights reset in BG bl vs. guilds such as TL, RUN and TSL.
Your guild wrecked us, plain and simple. I think all night we won 2-3 fights out of god knows how many. I could be like others and make excuses, like culling, outnumbered, you are all bots, etc, but I don’t think it would of matter that much overall to the outcomes. It made us really internalize what was going on and how to improve and what to strive for. Thanks for the free lessons!
After you guys were gone from the map, all the fighting seemed kind of easy in retrospect.
We let solos go unless they are right on the path where we are heading. Not ever worth it to chase one guy down.
I have noticed that pugs, regardless of a commander tag or not, are like a group of sharks smelling blood in the water. They tend to attack whatever they can see….
DAoC didn’t break up the zergs, the community broke up the zergs by rolling around in 8 mans on the center island (new frontiers) and staying out of Emain (old Frontiers). Zergs still happened all the time and probably still do.
Zergs will always happen as long as the perceived rewards (currently Karma I guess) are easier to get in a big pile of people.
Honestly, if you want small group stuff, they have it, it is called SPvP…
Basically, more people would transfer to a winning server than a losing server. People want easy mode, path of least resistance. Only diehards like to be on the underdog side.
It should just be taken out. Anything that detours people from pvp is a bad thing. Especially on a lower pop server that has trouble being zerged. It is hard to get people to come out and defend/attack if you end up dieing most of the time and just paying a repair bill.
