Oh really? So you got it the first day with those zergs being a big problem? That’s odd…. Think it took me 2-3 days in PvE to get my full armor and weapon sets. Oh, and did i mention that the only way to get the cool items from the new events is to do PvE content? Guess i should let Arena net know to make it so they can change what they have been doing since start-up and make it so you can get those cool items by doing PvP.

And please don’t compare getting your entire weapon and armor set (most of which can be straight-out bought and don’t require dungeon running, FYI) to getting a single achievement. Those aren’t even on par and you know it.

What i meant was, we don’t make forum posts complaining about it. I’ve seen at least 10 posts about this achievement being a problem. Our thinking is, if you can make an arugment saying that you don’t want to touch WvW/PvP content, we don’t want to touch PvE content either. Should it not work both ways?
It does and you should make one if you feel it’s a problem. We won’t knock you for it. ArenaNet can’t get feedback on what we do and don’t like if we don’t tell them.

How can we obtain this gold to buy the weapons and armor off the TP? Force us to use our credit cards? Some armor such as P/T/V can’t be bought on the TP. I think it’s a fair relateable argument that we have to spend ALOT of time in PvE to even be able to WvW, to your argument about not wanting to step foot in WvW to get an achievement.

I didn’t need to make a separate thread as it was already being discussed in this one. And I don’t think I’ve missed the point, that point being that many of us feel that the kite should not be in Obsidian Sanctum.
The only real killer chokepoint is the dark room and colosseum areas. You have to drop stealth there unless you have the dark room 100% memorized. And you can’t recloak before entering the colosseum, which can be pretty easily held by only a few for a long time. Until a very large group comes and kills them with quite a vengeance.
I watched a griefing group on my own server (TC) get killed by an angry Emhry Bay zerg. I stood back and watched them die as I felt they deserved it for their actions. Of course EB couldn’t tell I wasn’t in on the kittenery so they took me down too. I didn’t mind. After all, how could EB tell?

Get gold the same way we do. By doing events and selling items that drop for you.

Badges is a way to earn armor, but if you already have crappy armor, it would take forever to kill enough people to obtain enough badges to buy it. So why would we waste a week attempting to kill people who have the highest stats while we are rocking blues and greens.

You need to remember that us PvE players didn’t start out with great armor either. We also needed to work our way up to the exotics.
Yes, I know that the WvW system with badges isn’t quite on par with PvE. It is better than it used to be, but it’s still not great. But please don’t get mad at us or try to derail a conversation about whether or not a single piece of Living Story content should be in Obsidian Sanctum when all the rest are in PvE.
Your argument about armor and obtaining it is perfectly valid. This, however, is not the place for that discussion.

Interesting, I am on JQ and am having the exact opposite problem! Everytime I go there is a swarm of Blackgate and/or Sanctum waiting to destroy me.
Yesterday, it appeared both Sanctum and Blackgate allied up to kill the JQ people at the end of the JP though.
Both SoR and BG teaming up because YOUR server was griefing ALL non JQ players right at the very end of the jp and kite area. that is why SoR and BG teaming up to attack your server. i was there, i died 5 times thx to your server before i can finally get the achievement. you reap what you sow.
If that was the case why did everyone that you were with chase down all the people who weren’t fighting? I was just trying to portal a friend of mine and finish the JP?
I understand some of my server was probably doing that, but I have run in to both SoR and BG do the same thing.
I wouldn’t mind it being in obsidian sanctum if people just left me alone and allowed me to pass freely. I’m not there to fight. I’m there to get the kite. I just experienced roughly three hours of gangraping by enemy team(s) who just wouldn’t let me pass – and it’s impossible to navigate through the dark room while invis. 1 vs 1 would be fair. 10 vs 1 not so much.
I mean I’ve done this before and most of the time people from other worlds are pretty nice. No one is really fighting that much or at least there aren’t wandering gangs ganking anything that moves.
At least this experience taught me to hate WvWvW even more.
I was ganked by enemy campers on the basket site yesterday and decided to stay there for as long as they would stay there, hoping someone would appear and rezz me.
After verifying that there were about 5-6 of them, i just warned every one on the map to be wary of the “X Server” campers on the basket site, telling how many and where they are, in a few moments allied people and even the other server people showed up and rezzed me, putting an end to the nasty campers joy….i laughed and became surprised that so many people are still in favor of fair play.

I know how you feel. Did this for the first time yesterday. Spent a good 2 hours trying to do it with no evail. A group of 4 followed me to some ledges from below and tried to pull me off. I sat there waiting for 5 min just to see if they would leave and the didn’t. They finally managed to pull me off and I died. Did not even fight back because what is the point. I know it is a PvP zone, but I am not not sure why it is fun for people to fight those that have no desire to fight back.
If some one is not fighting back, show some class and let them through. I have actually lost a lot of respect for some servers and guild within them because of their actions.
