Issues with the trading post: please post here [MERGED]
Well, this should pretty much sum it up

This is exactly the problem I am having!
I had the problem with black screen in my trading post.
Tryed everything mansioned in here:
- run as administrator,
- turn off UAC,
- install rootcerts
- run repair
…
Nothing worked. It turned out that my internet provider turned on some weird proxy with message that I had to click befor going to any internet page (proxy wasnt working for firefox, only for browsers that I dont use) – when I clicked proxy message in internet explorer my trading post started to work (it turned the proxy off).
Conslusion: you may have proxy set even if you dont know about it.
Hope it helps someone.
What:
Every tab in Trading Post contain only this message:
“ERROR: Invalid authorisation”
How to repeat:
Log in to the world with any character, wait until you got kicked for inactivity.
Known ways to fix:
Launch client after completely closing it.Hope this helps someone and get fixed soon
Interesting. We didn’t know about this particular path. Thanks for the information. Yes — closing and re-opening the client should fix invalid authorization problems.
Sold items 8 hours ago but got no money. Did client repair, cleared mail without success. Sent bug report.
What do you mean you cleared mail? Did you check the Pickup tab in the trading post?

I believe its working as intended but I’m not entirely certain, from what I’ve read there is a 10% tax on everything you sell in addition to the listing fee. I read this on the wiki but the math has always worked out for me, the real question is whether they did a poor job explaining that there is supposed to be a tax(I still haven’t seen anything in game about it) or if its actually a bug. Anyways here’s the math showing what I’m talking about.
140*2.39=334.6 This gives a gross profit of 3 gold, 34 silver, and 60 copper BEFORE TAX is taken out.
The seller must pay a 10% tax on top of the 5% initial posting fee, this leads to 334.6*.9=301.14 which means that your proceeds from the sale are 3 gold, 1 silver, and 14 copper. This is roughly what he received and the 4 copper difference can be attributed to rounding from the individual sales.
Personally I hope that the tax is intended and they simply make it obvious that its there. It should serve to slow inflation in the game which is a good thing in my opinion.
I bought 10 items for 6s, listed them again to sell for 7s and paid listing fees 0.30s, when sold all i got was 6.30s this is really crazy
I can open the BLTC window and see everything other than the Trading post tab, so I can not search for items or buy items – all I get is the yellow swirling “loading” indicator. I can still sell items and pick up my profit. Does anyone know how to fix this?

it does not do anything other than this.

I had the problem with the Buy and Sell buttons greyed out. I don’t know if it’s coincidence or not, but I got it working after I deleted local.dat AND ran GW2 as an admin. Doing both those things on their own didn’t seem to fix it, but after doing both those things together it worked. May be coincidence, but worth a try?

This also goes with the 10% tax. If you’re buying stuff just to sell it you need a markup of at least ~18% to turn a profit and that would be a profit of a mere .3% of what you originally paid. If you sell an item with a markup less than this you will actually lose money as I believe you did with your sale, the listing fee should have been .35s not .3s. So assuming you were charged the correct listing fee you lost 5 copper. Not that that would hurt but if you’re dealing with high value items or huge quantities you could lose a lot of money quickly.

When I placed an order to instantly buy 40 Mystic Coins from the Trading Post (valued at around 60 silver), the Trading Post instead charged me about 1 gold and 10 silver for them. I double-checked the worth of the Mystic Coins and the number I had available for pick-up – the Mystic Coins were worth 60 silver and I still only had 40 for pick-up. It seems that the Trading Post took more money from my inventory than was charged for the items.
I’m not sure if something similar has been happening to other users trying to purchase items on the Trading Post. Thank you for your time in reviewing this post.
If I click a item so it shows the selling details box then sell another item in my inventory to the merchant or send craft materials to the bank the trading post sell your stuff screen will not refresh until I go back into it.
But If I am in sell your stuff and haven’t clicked on anything then it will refresh.
Luckily trying to sell a item still listed when not in inventory gives a error and the list refreshes
Edited solved the problem

I think the 10% tax would have been fine if it was documented in the same way the listing fee is. Right now, it is ripping off those who haven’t noticed and driving away sellers who have. Making for-profit selling so difficult will dry up the sale orders and make it harder for buyers to get their goods, and drive up the prices. It’s too easy to hammer risk-free lowball buy orders at the system all day to drive sellers away.
When will we see either 1) pre-sale notification of that tax (right now I feel that it is exploiting players who don’t calculate their returns because they don’t expect to be dinged another 10% after the first 5% fee was clearly stated) or 2) drop the tax.
This tax is not an effective way to curb inflation. Since there is a gems-to-gold exchange from real dollars, it does provide ArenaNET with real profits. If this is on their financial forecast sheets, it’s not going to go away anytime soon.
BTW, there is a question in the middle of the above post What’s going to happen? Document the tax in game or remove it?

I dont think that you can add 18% on cost to sell, alot of people will be selling less than that.
The Black Lion Trader dude in Soothberme, Mount Maelstrom is not working. No “talk” option appears . The bank beside him works though.
Hey there,
I had the problem with the endless loading animation and solved it!
I tried several things, so I´m not 100% sure which made it happen, but I guess importing the certificates manually did it:
- log in as admin
- navigate to your gw2.exe
- rightclick – properties
- tab “digital signatures”
- select signature from the list – click on details
- view certicificate – install certificate
- repeat for “counter signature”
Hope that helps!
If not let me know and I´ll try to remember the other steps I did.

Sure you can, but you have to buy lower, using custom offer, waiting a bit & finding the right items to resell
Still waiting on near 7g worth of money and items from almost a week ago being eaten by the collection tab. Is there some official ticket I can put in or something as this was my lvl 80s total cash tied up in TP trades and items.
Cheers in advance.
I’ve been playing this game since the beta and this is the very first I’ve heard about a 10% TP tax. When was this announced. I’ve spent countless hours pouring over every detail I could get on the game before it came out. I’ve even got the strategy guide. I see no mention of a 10% tax anywhere. That’s not cool.

I believe its hard because you wont find an item to buy and sell with 18% deference in price
Food is not listed under “Consumable > Food”. Instead, it’s listed under “Consumable > Generic”.

Tried that and didnt help, what were the other steps you mentioned?
Roma Yurkov – Warrior – 65
[DIE] Dragons In Exile – Far Shiverpeaks
I’d be very helpful to get an official answer about the ‘I removed items from the TP but could never pick them up’ problem as I still have not received mine and it seems like I’m by far not the only one with this problem.
Should I create a support ticket?

I manually updated the root certificates, which is suppossed to happen automatically for Win7…
I browsed forums and found a file to update them manually, but i can´t guaranty it´s working or even if it´s save to run the file (since it´s from windowsupdate.com, i decided to give it a try).
Check http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itprogeneral/thread/662d0db3-275c-4c4a-adde-17163e71d45c for details.
I ran the rootsupd.exe mentioned at the bottom. Guess a restart and manual import of the certs did it after running this one.
still waiting on the at 50s or my 100 or so copper ore from the first few hours of headstart.
should i make a support ticket?
idk if it matters but i (obv) bought the gold for this purchase with gems.
Sold items 8 hours ago but got no money. Did client repair, cleared mail without success. Sent bug report.
What do you mean you cleared mail? Did you check the Pickup tab in the trading post?
I cleared mail because forum posts said this can prevent payment in mail from trading post. I have now found the pick up tab and visited guy in lions arch to get money.
Today I wanted to make a custom order for jute scraps. However, nothing happened when I clicked “Place order”, and I tried clicking it many times. After that time I noticed that ALL MY MONEY have gone. I didn’t click so many times to spend all of my money for sure! the saddest thing is that neither I have anything to pick-up on TP, nor did I have my money returned.
Almost two gold coins (I’m level 35) are lost. Now I can’t normally play the game.
I created a ticket, but I’m not sure how long I’ll wait….
Same account – 2 pc’s (laptop & desktop)
The laptop can access the trading post, but the desktop can’t!
Both win7 64-bit.
Any ideas?
I wanted to remove some stuff from the “selling” tab but then i noticed that my money had gone!
Its like i bought the stuff but the only thing i did its to remove from the list!
Suddenly i lost over 2g without noticing it!
So what now??
Bought 1golds worth of gems, used said gems to purchase 5xMystic Forge Stones. Gems were deducted, no mystic stones were deposited
Ok. I still can’t access any tab of the Black Lion Trading Company (including the Trade Post) since I started playing at the head-start; although I could access it during the 2nd BWE (I believe it was the 2nd). I sent a message to the costumer support, and I still got no answer.
These are the things that I tried till now to fix this problem (by chronological order as far as I remember):
- Shutting down the game client completely and reboot;
- Do the “-repair” thing through a short cut;
- Tried different sets of graphic display in the in-game options;
- Configure the proxy in my browser (I actually don’t know what this does for real, I know it has something to do with the connection to the internet via browser (?));
- Run Guild Wars 2 as an administrator;
- Delete the Local.dat file;
- Delete the Gw2.dat file.
Notes: I am now running GW2 as an admin at all times. I downloaded the .dat files after deleting them (obviously).
I’m afraid it might be, for some reason I don’t know, an hardware problem. So I’m leaving here the info about my laptop:
Acer Aspire 5737z, Windows 7 64-bits
Intel Core Duo CPU T6400 2.00GHz; 4,0Gb RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 9400M G (I’ve downloaded the latest version of the graphics driver, since it was recommended by the GW2 game.)
I know it’s not a great computer to run GW2, but believe me, I’m pretty happy about it besides the Trading Post not working.
Thanks for the help before hand, and hope you guys can give me some tips because I’m loving this game, but I’d really like to see the Trading Post work.
TP ate all my gold… and gave me a network error…
That was over 15gold… i made a ticket but… is there another way to get their attention faster?
Thanks
Edit now i was able to get 13gold back… looks like theres still missing some…

A few people were having this issue saw it in chat.
I bought 300 gems for a minni pet package, i did not recieve the package, while the other times i got the mail instantly… Then i decided to order another pack… This time i did recieve the pack… So what happened to the other pack?
My ingame name is Kevow on far shiverpeaks eu server. Ty for the support
When I purchase ingredients in bulks of 10 (Example: 10, 20, 30, 40…) and the following “0” is typed quickly after the initial number (1x, 2x, 3x, 4x) the number would change back to a single digit (1, 2, 3, 4) but would retain the cost of the double digit quantity. Basically, I’ve received 3 in quantity when my intended purchase was 30 – charged in the amount of 30. I’ve lost a large amount of currency through this.
Seriously where is my money? What about this ghost tax?? All of day I was buying mates for X money and sold for X+Y. With the TAX showed 28 copper per mat, and a profit of 30 more or less.
One hour ago when I maked recount I have 8 Gold, this morning I haved 12 Golds.
4 Golds to trash, Where is my money?
help please the trading post will not let me purchase anything
I don’t recommend deleting the local dat file. After doing so I lost the ability to represent guilds. Had to do a complete reinstall to fix it. Yet i still can’t buy/sell items from the trading post. Must be a server side issue for some.
I bought some gems with in game currency which while they took awhile eventually arrived. However with those gems i purchased i black cloud key last night and it still has not arrived. My Character is Korra Deathbender on Gate of madness. Thanks for your help.

This happens for me all the time too.

Hi,
Check your my transactions tab for ‘items i’m buying’, your money/order is likely there. We take your money in advance for buy orders to guarantee that you can pay.
I too am experiencing the utterly blank Trading Post screen. I have tried all suggested fixes in this thread (delete and reload .dat file, “-repair”, root update for Win7 x64, verify certificates, etc.). Once in a while the fix takes and I can use the TP for that session. The next day it is again blank. It takes about 2 1/2 hours to reload the dat file, so even though that works most of the time, it is becoming somewhat annoying.
Is there a fix coming for this? If you require any specifics on my set-up to assist, let me know.
Regards
Purchased some Major Runes from the Trading Post to slot them into some armor pieces. Slotted fine into my Shoulder pieces, but won’t slot in my boots.

I’m not the main demographic, but running GW2 on a 2011 MacBook pro, great specs.
Running the program through parallels rather than boot camp ( performance loss blah blah I know.)
Issue with trading post: when mousing over items the tooltip does not appear 9/10 logins. Occasionally logging out and back in fixes, usually not.
Likewise the buy/ sell buttons are not selectable in these occurrences.
When the tooltips pop up I can buy/ sell with no problems.
Devs if you need/ want more info please feel free to direct email me through the email listed on the account.
Thanks game looks great!
still all blank
I’m having an issue sometimes that it wont allow me to Sell, it shows me an red text “there was an error” when I click sell.
That usually happens when I sell plenty of things in TP, I must wait some time, is this an limit or something?
Asura thing.
My buy button is grayed out and I can’t buy anything, though I can search things up. I think a couple other pages of the TP are also blank. I didn’t see a solution for this in the thread, so I’m posting it here.
I’m unable to buy/sell full stacks (250) as if it just sits in limbo. But as soon as I change it to 175 or 100 transactions begin.
