It should be permanent in GW2 or a game by itself. Just awesome pvp and survival game. Should lower the amount of rations one person can carry so thakittens not a prolonged ration war. Other than thakittens great! Thanks to the team who made it!

i don’t see what’s so good about it.

I was talking about this ingame to some friends. If this was a standalone game I’d buy it without hesitation

I’d like it a lot more if it weren’t for the ghosts. Just having invisible trolls everywhere gets rather annoying in pretty short order.

I don’t find it very fun. It’s boring when dragged out since people are hiding most of the time and don’t come out. And with ten other ghosts wandering around getting motes most of the time, you sit in ghost form and do nothing since you have no motes.

The first minute is probably the most fun, chaos everywhere and everyone dying.

They should add it as a pvp map because I think that this game is funnier and better than the unbalanced pvp we have nowdays.

Most definitely my favorite minigame so far. Even as a ghost I don’t get bored since i figured out how best to handle it (karka arent as good as they seem) and I don’t have to worry about people banding in groups as everyone is everyone’s opponent. The commentary can make me grin like a charr even when I’m having a bad game. By far my top vote for best minigame so far =)

It’s fun while you’re alive, but I think there needs to be more to do when you’re a ghost. As someone mentioned, the motes are slim pickings. If I die early I mighhhht have enough to summon a karka by the end of the match, but even then, the karka isn’t even that dangerous.

I don’t like the game since I don’t enjoy pvp. However, I do understand that it’s the type of mini game that would appeal to some players. The main problem I see is the scoring system. I think points should at least be rewarded to people for staying alive longer. So second, third, fourth, etc. each get some pts as well. You’re better off dying and getting points for setting traps than trying to stay alive unless you have a good chance to win.

I’m also enjoying it. There are a few bugs here and there that people are exploiting apparently, but other than that it’s the most entertaining pvp game I’ve played from the living story updates.

I didnt like it at first but it grew on me. There are i think a few places to hide that not many people know off. A few wins by the same guy who none of the ghost could find told me he or she had a great place to hide

The only thing i dislike about this mini game are people who just run around looting food and then spend the next 5 mins hiding.. Where is the fun in that?

Try to play it as the Norn. It’s like running around with huge banner saying “Hit me first!”

Its extremely easy to cheese to win. Run out into the wilderness at the start, max your rations off the plants, then swim around in the water for 6-8 minutes where no one will find you and ghosts cant hurt you. You’ll usually outlast everyone.

You won’t get maximum score this way though… Anyhow. I have to admit I hate southsun survival. I usually like the minigames and I really like the new aspect arena.

I’m usually at least decent in minigames but for some reason I’m absolutely horrible in southsun survival. My arrows always miss and I always fail to dodge enemy arrows. I never find food. I never manage to scavenge anything without someone killing me or triggering a trap even though I try to keep eye on them.

Trying to grind towards the necessary score for achievement has been a real pain in the rear end. I can’t even seem to manage to get people kill me in a right spot so I could get as many motes as possible. I’m just so bad in it that it’s not even funny.

I liked it. Reminds me of hunger games :P

I know exactly how you feel because that describes my experience so far to a T. Even when I tried hiding in a good place wouldn’t you know it….some ghost had enough motes to spawn a karka on top of me. Oh well, this is why I don’t pvp either. But I’m glad a lot of people are enjoying it.

Southsun Survival is an updated version of the final event from BWE3 (Hunger Royale.) Seems like they did tweak it a bit, but the core concepts are the same.

I find it fun for a little while. Then eventually I rage quit because it respawns you with half health in the first 2:00. Then u get picked off again with one shot before u can move or escape. Over and over and over.

Yep, seen this done a few times, and always see players run towards cliff edges, kittenes and just camp there, the first 2mins of a game is fun, you see alot of action, have to react but once the numbers dwindle it’s just a game of waiting for the ultimate camper to win.

I love it, one of my favourite minigames, but the scoring system could use some an overhaul ( why is that Arenanet always screws scoring systems? ) and the majority of the time the last survivors don’t decide the last one standing duking it out but starving and dying to ghosts.

It is strangely addictive.
