I’m more under the impression that both her and the Charr are going to be bad/evil/whatever. Its not like we could check the Charr ourselves and see he was/is dead.

Knew it, she’s probably with the Aetherblades or the Separatists or the zombies.

I was suspicious too. To be honest I was suspicious as soon as I saw her in the crowd and noticed she was one of the few random onlookers who was named, and the only one I knew I hadn’t seen somewhere before.

I’m not sure if it’s a valid suspicious though or just a result of past experience with “unexpected” disasters/attacks in video games. Like when everyone through the Wintersday preview video music sounded sinister and expected Tixx to have some sort of evil plot to kill us all.

Tixx is indeed behind it all… He made the dredge and flame legion toys, he made the karka toys and he made the aetherblades.

She did seem suspicious. However, my thoughts of her were immediately Cantha. Name and outfit was befitting to the region and heavily reminded me of a Factions character.

My character is a charr in the Order of Whispers. I was like, " O_o HOW ARE YOU NOT STABBING THIS WOMAN ALREADY?!?"

There’s way too many “helpful” NPCs that end up turning on you. So naturally it’s my instant knee-jerk reaction to assume anyone offering to help is just going to betray us all.

I think anyone who has ever read a lot of books, played a lot of games or watched a lot of films is now jaded beyond all belief when it comes to suspiciously helpful strangers, especially when they warrant a name.

Either she is the saboteur or she will be accused thus and only prove her innocence after a long, convoluted series of events in which she reveals herself to secretly be a mole in the enemy agency putting her life at risk to bring word of the resistance within it to the ears of the Lionguard and allies races. Part of this series of events will involve her stating that if she had wanted to kill you she could have done so multiple times already, and then offering to let you kill her yourself to prove her dedication.

That’s when Lionguard Kiel reveals her true colours by wanting to execute this wanton criminal, because no truly good person would ever kill someone who is asking to be shot as a test of their loyalty! MWAHAHAHAHAHAA!

Technically she can’t be Asian because Asia is a geographic region on Earth and she is from Tyria. Unless she’s come a really long way to help.

She is however Canthan, and Cantha was Asian themed.

Well, it was honestly really obvious that she was guilty with the first Tassi Box instance… I was hoping that there would be some twist that she wasn’t guilty but had info or something, but eh.

But she would have gotten away with it, too, if it hadn’t been for us meddling kids!

If she had a skittish and scared tone to her voice like she was shy and withheld on her social aspect then it would of been a bit better. also the name npc’s part would of been smarter to make up names for people in crowd,

It would be amazing, though I seem to recall ArenaNet staff claiming that Cantha was currently out of the picture.

If it turned out Mai was a Luxon Sky Pirate, rebelling against the new Canthan Overlords and coming to Kryta for fun, sea and kittens I am defecting and traveling back to Cantha with her. No question.

It would be interesting to learn some more lore about current day Cantha through this new Living Story. I hope they drop some clues for us regarding Cantha.

I think it was basically a case of “you’ve got enough of an alibi that we can’t arrest you yet, but we haven’t ruled you out, so don’t leave town”. Or, if they were more inclined to lull her into complacency “you’re still a witness, so don’t leave town”. Either way, it would be reasonable for her to have been informed that attempting to leave while the investigation is underway would be viewed as an admission of guilt – and even if she got away, she would have forfeited her end goal of a seat on the Council.

So… Mai Trin seems kinda ‘sassy’. Think she might be our personal nemesis?
