Post here if you have BEAT the Tower!
Human Mesmer no speed buffs or banners around.
Sylvari engineer 80 took me overall 6h
Yesterday 3 and today 3 but i finnaly did it
Also there were 3 big norns and 1 charr in group but they would fall somewhere at start like most ppl :P
Icaryum
Human ranger lvl 12 made it 3 times
no speed boots , started gw2 two days ago:P
first time you get exotic boots+bags
2 and 3rd time only bags
gl all
Challenge accepted and conquered.
Human Female Thief
Did it as a human elementalist, I found that hiding the HUD and reentering the puzzle till no charr and norn were in my group helped greatly. Thought it was pretty cool.
I challenge people with a witch costume to do the tower while sitting on their broom! :P

Warrior Norn. Norn’s are great at all challenges!
I challenge people with a witch costume to do the tower while sitting on their broom! :P
Can’t change into costume, I tried changing into my mad king and it wouldn’t work.
You need to activate the broom or costume before the timer takes you into the challenge itself. You’ll stay on the broom, and keep any mini pets and costumes that are active.
The challenge still stands.

I literally screamed like a little girl when I completed it and my hands were shaking for a minute or so afterwards, very fun puzzle but very very crappy that u gotta wait 20-30 seconds after each attempt/mistake
- Human
- Mesmer
- No Speed Boost
-Sylvari
-Elementalist
-No Speed Boost
That is definitely the most satisfied I have ever felt after accomplishing a digital task in a LONG LONG time. WOO!
I finally did it!
Asuran
Mesmer
no speed buff
Took me less than an hour I guess
Done it a fair few times (after the initial hour of failure) on my human guardian. 0 speed buffs
Asura 80 thief. 0 speed buffs
It is lots of fun!
Charr warror, 50 goes, 10% trait speed buff
Sylvari ele, air aura buffs, 12 goes
Asura mesmer, no speed buffs..3 goes
So fun. I think people get caught up watching there character instead of knowing how far they can jump and going on instinct. I didnt look at my character after the first couple jumps.
Charr ranger with 10% passive speed boost
I don’t think any of the passive speed buffs actually make it in, since the in tower skill set is completely bare. But:
Sylvari Necromancer, 10% Passive.
Human Elementalist, 10% Passive.
http://youtube.com/user/Royblazer
Since you are transformed for the puzzle, you don’t get any passive speed buffs.
Have done it on an asura elementalist, sylvari warrior and human thief.
Finally finished it last night, after a couple of hours. LOL so much hate in the Tower for Charrs and Norns.
Human
Engineer
no speed buffs
Human ele, warrior
5 times
Took me 3 hours for the 1st time and now I can beat it in every 2nd try. The puzzle itself ain’t that hard, I notice it is waaay easier when there is no huge characters
Human Ele Took me 3 hours
Human elem with passive speed boost. first time took me 60+ try with nobody helping me how to figure out that kitten thing.
Then with Guardian, no speed boost, took about 10 try.
www.Spectre-guild.com
charr mesmer, no passive boost, i chalenge those passive boosts to jump this faster then me.
Sylvari
Ranger
No Speed Boost
Asura guardian with sup traveler.
I can’t believe I sat here for the last 4 hrs trying to complete this.
Norn Ranger
10% from signet of the hunt
5% Superior rune of the traveler
Beat the tower twice but got bugged and teleported back to the start before getting the chest, got the achievement though. Had to beat it a third time to get the stupid slippers!
I finally beat it, looking at the kitten floor half the kitten time, thanks to one glitch that made me skip past the fog, so I could take the time to move the camera to the few positions that allowed me to see ahead of me, which were a bit more than usual thanks to the vertical FoV beta changes.
No speed boosts or anything like that, just everyone got glitched out before me, stuck with the cinematic and quickly eaten by the fog, while I miraculously got freed from that.
It was about the 5th time I managed to reach the top, and it was the only time the collision box in the hole properly detected my character instead ignoring it and just let it fall to the void.
I hope they try to avoid all the problems its causing to so many people in future content.
And that by the time w can retry it next year, either first person is added or they fix the camera problems, so I can try doing it looking in front of me instead at the floor.
Getting something after all those problems leaves you with a bitter aftertaste. Like when you have to kill a sacred beast in self defense. Yeah, you prevailed, but something horrible had to happen.

Norn lvl 20, have taken the tower over 10 times
Charr lvl 3, taken the tower 2 times
Asura female lowest size, taken the tower 2 times
Human male taken the tower 2 times
Sylvari elementalist, have taken the tower 4 times
everyone except elementalist did not use speed boon.
It took me a while but I beat it. And for all of the people that have been complaining saying it is too hard or kittening at ANet for putting something like this in the game… honestly… you are dead wrong on this one.
That was probably the most fun I have ever had in a game. Second only to maybe the first time I played WvW and won. I was shouting with excitement… laughing when I fell… and… now that it is over… I am nostalgic enough to want to go back and run it again.
It did take a while. Almost 4 hours for me to figure it out and complete it. Then once you figure it out you have to “get into the rhythm” of it. So that can take maybe 30 minutes.
Suggestions for people that are struggling: first, be patient. If you go to the Clock Tower expecting to complete it in a single stroke then you will be frustrated very quickly. Guess what? You aren’t the uber so be like the rest of us and be patient and take your time.
Second, perserverance. You gotta keep at it. If you get frustrated and start yelling (unless it is for joy) every time you fall you will only become your own worst enemy. Just realize you are going to fall a million times before you complete it.
Third, take hope as you get higher. Everytime you make it to the next block up from where you fell the last time (or in one case down to where you have to jump to the chest platform) you are proving to yourself that you WILL complete it. People have a tendency to want to defeat themselves and subconsciously say to themselves “I am never going to complete this”. Baby steps, man… baby steps.
Fourth, save some time and go watch a YouTube video of somebody else completing it. Seriously, if you are getting frustrated, watch somebody else finish it. Doesn’t mean you are elite… just means you are smart enough to stand on somebody else’s shoulders and learn from them.
Lastly, and this is a practical suggestion, but try to find an instance where there is no Norn or Charr trying to run it in the group you are in. And if you are Norn or Charr… well then you have nothing to worry about. But also look at the group you are in as part of the challenge. Trying to run to the top with that big old Charr butt in your face is just part of the baby steps you must make.
To ArenaNet… Don’t change a thing. You hit it out of the park on this one. Well done. Thanks for the thrilling adventure and laughs.
Some guy called Nudd
Asura lvl 80
No buff or boost.
Charr lvl 28
No buff or boost.
However i did got fully nekkid and nothing beats achieving it while bringing sexy back
The Goonie who wasn’t in the movie.
(edited by Vrede.8942)
completed with:
very short female human engi
slightly taller female human necro
asuran warrior
was fun, and even puzzling at first.
edit: none of these characters had any speed boosts or traits that affected this at all.
(edited by Blaaaaaaag.7480)
Human Elementalist
With 10% Speed boost and Without any also
Beaten 5 times. Easy as pie
Did it with my five characters to get free boots.
Sylvari. Ranger. No speed boost.
Charr. Warrior. No speed boost.
Norn. Guardian. No speed boost.
Asura. Engineer. No speed boost.
Human. Elementalist. No speed boost.
See, it is possible with everything. And without any trait.
Of course, sometimes I failed miserably, but Jumping Puzzles are all about patience, skill and perseverance.
Thief & Ranger.
Thief’s 25% passive does not work.
Norn Ranger
Lvl 80
passive speed boost of 15%
Human Mesmer, no speed boosts.
-Lordluen
Sylvari Necromancer
13 hours of just straight jumping just finished it right now
human ele, no speed buffs, I did it on the third try.
I have now completed it with all races. In order of completion
Asura Ranger, only one with speed boost and only 10%
Human Warrior
Charr Engineer
Norn Necromancer
Sylvari Mesmer
Charr was actually most difficult by far in my opinion. To many jumps failed that I would have made on any other race.
Sylvary Elementalist (with speed buff) in 50+ tries
Asura Engineer (no buffs) in 3 tries
Norn Ranger, no speed boosts.
Took me ages but it was really satisfying to finally finish it! Great job Anet, that was difficult but a lot of fun. Some guildies were doing it with me and we really enjoyed it. There was much celebrating when people managed to finish it!
Two times complete
Human Engineer – Small
Charr Thief – Medium
no speed boost
On my engineer I was lucky enough to get put into an overflow server with one other person. It was a lot easier to learning the puzzle.
EDIT: forgot to mention, turn down your graphics settings so their will be less lag. It helps.
(edited by Reave.2701)
Two times complete.
Human
Mesmer
none
A screenshot to your achievement.
— Gwen
Asura
Ranger
No speed boosts
Fort Aspenwood
40+ times, sylvari warrior, no boosts.
i’ve made around 600 candycorns doing the tower. But i guess they won’t let you do tower runs anymore.
It’s not like you can do much with these candycorn anyway. I got personalized bags with them in lions arch, but literally got nothing out of the personalized bags aside from some more candycorn and some lame skin tonics.
