Asura, Guardian, 80, No speed boost.

Took me 2 hours at least though.
Had a blast doing it … nicely done Anet

Took about an hour to finish it the first time, then farmed ToT bags for the next hour or so to get the achievement, made it every second or third run.

Thief, 80, 25% speed increase (which didn’t work there anyway because it is “in combat”)

Human, Engineer, level 78

No passive speed boosts

I completed it multiple times

Level 80 Charr Warrior, just beat it after 3242834 tries and a lot of abuse from little Asura players.

No Speed boost.

Got Mad King slippers and two spooky tonics.

Beat it, wasn’t easy tho, took 2hrs (a painful 2hrs)
Note: I found that hiding UI with ctrl + shift + h helped remove distractions

Sylvari no speed boosts or anything
Charr no speed boost or anything (was harder with charr)

Completed it 4 or 5 times.

I don’t think I have any passive speed boosts on any of them.

Level 43 Female Norn Guardian.

No Speed boost.

More hours than I care to admit, lol. But I pretty much screamed when I made it.

Level 80 Female Human Mesmer – No speed boost

And also done it for my bro’s Male human engineer.

Norn Guardian and Norn Warrior with no passive speed boost. Probably the hardest jumping puzzle so far, but nothing a little bit of practice couldn’t solve.

clock tower jumping with charr is fun seeing everyone avoiding me and falling down.

I’ve beaten this once for every race. Took me a couple hours for my first success. After coming back to it the next day, I got the other for successes in maybe a little over thirty minutes.

Alot of tries about 100+ thanks to Norn+Charr slowing the pace at the start

I must be in the top 10 of failed tries, but after 8 to 10 hours I FINALLY got it.

Asura 80 elementalist
Sylvari 35 Warrior
Elementalist – Boosts from air attunement (I traited both 10% speed while attuned to air and increased speed for time spent attuned to air, not sure whether they both apply).
Warrior – 10% speed when using melee weapons. I think it doesn’t work though, I wasn’t faster than anyone and weapons seem removed during run anyway.

I’ve been doing it for 6 hours till 2 am, failing constantly. Then next day, I did it twice within 30 minutes … talk about lack of sleep.

Beat it with my Human Engineer. Loved the puzzle, really hope we see more content like this in the future. It kept me occupied for some time (around 4 hours in total time spent I would estimate).

Didn’t use any speed boosts and was level 76 at the time.

After 20 failed jumps from the stairs (latency problem) i finally reached that clock. (no Boosts)

After three days of attempting it off and on, I finally get to add myself to this thread.

Charr, Thief. No movement speed enhancement.

Yeah made it took a few hours but you know I never almost threw my keyboard at a wall. I was calm the whole time. I never wished that norn and charr toons at max height would just fall. Nope not me was calm the whole time.

Norn fem warrior. Took about 50-ish mins. Only 2 norns made it to the end (incl. me).

Asura Warrior.
I did use speed boost and did not use it. Don’t remember but at the time of completion I think I had it on me.

I have no intention of even trying another jump puzzle. I’m not even fond of the normal jump puzzles. They only get done because map completion requires it, otherwise they all would remain un-done. I know others enjoy them so it’s good they are in the game for those who enjoy them but I simply do not and never will find them fun.

2h to first compleation.

Have probably done it about 75-100 times now.
Just yesterday in the last runs it ran me crazy because I supposedly missed the last jump through the broken clock for about 10-11 times in a row (and as said, I’ve done it dozens time without any problems before) and I still don’t see the reason for that, I actually got the feeling I did broke it after those 75-100 runs. Well, the 12th time then did work again, even if I actually didn’t do anything different, but ok…

32 Norn Warrior.

also the overwhelming character abuse from being a Norn on this Jumping Puzzle.

completed 4 times and can honestly say this is the most fun I’ve had during the Halloween event

It took me about a billion attempts. At least 12 hours over a few days. And most importantly being on an overflow server that eventually left me as the only one trying.

Took me 3 hours when there were NO people before I finally got it down and done.

Level 62
Asura thief no speed boosts

After like 4 hours of trying and one disconnect at the end lol

Human female warrior, no banner exploits, took me about 20 or so tries and a lot of frustration, but man it was fun in retrospect

Human Warrior, no buffs

Took me about an hour of repeated tries to get it the first time. After that I’ve completed it 8 times for myself and two times for my girlfriend (whose character is an Asura Necromancer, also no buffs).

This was the most fun part of the Halloween events for me so far. Hope to see more like this in the future!

Norn Warrior 35, Passive speed boost 5%

Took me +4 hours untill I got the hang of it. After that I did it a 2nd time and succeeded immediatly.

I like the tower how he is. Hard but doable and easy repeatable once you figure it out. You need to have the jumps in your finger reflexes.

I don’t think it’s that hard after you jump to the platform, generally it’s the first part of the puzzle that’s hard

I did it as Charr Engineer, about 1-1,5h of attempts and then 9 successful runs more while waiting for my friend to complete it. Also did it with Asura Guardian in even shorter time just to prove that it can be done with Norns and Charrs around.

Well, actually twice, but the first time I missed the clockface (still got the achievement though). So I had to go again.

Hands down the most fun Jump puzzle I’ve done so far. That and the one in the Sylvari area with the Asura platforms. Not once during the whole puzzle did I get mad.. If there ever was a screw up, it was on me freaking out about the grabby hands, which after a while I learned to run through. I’m dreading when they eventually take it out though, I’m really enjoying doing this jump puzzle.

I’ve mastered jumping the tower and can do it probably every 4th try on average. No speed boosts, done it will all 5 of the races…

Also, and I swear this is true, the Clock Tower seems the absolute hardest to climb as a human. And it’s not because the big races get in the way. Humans seem to slip off the side, make short jumps, and get grabbed by the skeleton hands WAY more often than any other race’s. If you can picture your human character trying to do the Clock Tower while riding a spinning top then it’ll make more sense.
The easiest race to do it with is the Charr.

Oh yeah, and as one final tip. Drop your video settings and your resolution to the absolute minimum when attempting this. The extra smoothness will help you a ton.

8 hours nonstop, speedboost for one hour in the middle of it helped me get the hang of the first part but all other attempts without any sort of aid. I refused to stop until I managed it and the satisfaction of completion was immense. Thanks Anet and thanks to the designer of this great puzzle!

PS Located in Shanghai and Playing on a 2 year old Macbook pro. Even with framerate and latency issues it is possible!

Took me 3 days lol.1st I was dying not even in the middle of the puzzle.2nd day dying at one frustrating cross-beam,5secs before the big falling.Last death before completion was when I hit myself in the stairs infront the clock.Next try I jumped in the clock and thought ”noooo logging screen,I died again” but then I see that I’m inside lol.
