Post here if you have BEAT the Tower!
Did it once with my Sylvari ranger, no speed boons. The whole process of beating this thing was one of my most intense moments in gaming, if not THE most intense. What a rollercoaster… Please ANet continue to push the limits like this, it was freaking awesome.
Nerves of steel and an adrenaline rush!
But they might want to ghost out other players, or make the first couple of platforms a lot wider, so players can spread out more. At least for next year, or incase they make another jumping challenge for Wintersday.

Asura Elementalist air staff speed boost
Human Ranger no boost
I succeeded once after three days of trying and practicing hard.
Sylvari elementalist, no bonuses, no speed traits.
Asura Ranger – No speed boost
4 Hours last night – got to the top a few times but didn’t know when to time to final leap. 1-1.5 Hours this morning and cracked it – done 5 times now.
Loving the design
Charr Engineer – no buffs.
First attempt was at about 9PM last night. After about 30 tries and getting to the top once, not knowing about the lightning, I finished it at around 11:30.
First did it as a human ranger. Then did it as a char engineer. The amount of Norn butt I witnessed will never fade with time.
“Check your inbox. Infractions for everyone!” – Oprah
Beat it after 8hours yesterday with my norn ranger.
1- Asura, Thief, No Speed Boost (several times)
2- Human, Mesmer, No Speed Boost (several times)
3- Human, Engineer, No Speed Boost (several times)
4- Asura, Guardian, No Speed Boost (just once to get slippers)
5- Sylvari, Elementalist, No Speed Boost (just once to get slippers)
Norn
Warrior
4 times
Easy.
It took me a little while but it seems they made it a bit too easy anyway, everyone seems to be able to do it. Which I don’t mind at all but that’s not what was intended I believe.
Anyway, if you did it once you can make it into a good pumpkin farm if you’d want.
7 times completed.
Human
Thief

At this point I’ve done it at least once per race, no speed boosts involved.
The charr can be tricky due to running on all fours; I had to adjust to stop misjudging when I was actually on the edge of platforms for optimal jumps.
Boots for everyone!
“everyone seems to be able to do it. "
You must have missed all the threads complaining about it then.
Human
Thief
No speed boost
I support Tengu as a playable race.
I finally did it yesterday.
Asura mesmer 5 times.
I feel like I could do it whenever. It’s so easy now. It’s funny how difficult it was but once you get it, you get. It’s awesome. Thanks for this awesome jp!
It took me 10/15 minutes to beat it the first time, then I beat it 4 consecutive times afterwards, awesome Jumping puzzle.
Forgot: Human, Thief, no speed boosts (that I remember…).

If you wanted an added challenge. one thing you can try for is going fast enough to have time to loot the chests on the way to the top.
But I agree -- the times I was all, "uggggh" when I was still learning the paths and timing seemed silly once I did it.

I stopped at that point because I realized that the boots weren’t salvagable so I wouldn’t be able to get super easy ectos from doing it over and over. The puzzle is the same for every race – I noticed that most people got stuck on the initial jumps before the dip. If you are more aggressive with your jumping it is much easier to get ahead of the pack and win that way. Also the timing for the running/jumps is the same for every race/class so if you just practice you can get the timing down.
Completed on all 8 characters, one of all the races, and a duplicate of charr, human, and sylvari.
No speed boosts, except I tried the trait boost on my charr ele. Seemed to mess up my jumps more than help due to already doing it so many times on regular speed. You just have to get it once then it’s much easier. Got to the point I’d take an alt in there and just complete it first run.
I am not as fast as my friend who is a char. but I get up there again and again.
human thief
passive speed buff
NAKED!
Thief/Necro/Guardian/Mesmer/Elementalist of SFR EU
5 times, all races cept norn and charr. Raged at first but after I figured out the timing it became fun. Nice job Anet!
Beat it several times on my Norn and then once on my Human. The size of my human was definitely an issue but for some reason it felt easier on the human. I think because the targets I was jumping toward felt bigger. With my Norn it feels like i have less room for error.

Charr guardian
Had a lot of people complain about my size and the other charrs around the area, but I just ignored them and soldiered on. Took me about 4 hours (not straight) and I got it. When doing it on second sitting there were only 3 of us trying it, which made the first part easy and less cluttered . When I got to the top I had a message asking if I wanted to switch to the main server from the overflow, What am I crazy??
I’ve lost count the amount of times I’ve beaten it.
I set myself an even further challenge to beat it 3 times in a row without failure – that’s how much I enjoy it.
Oh, and human Ele. No speed boost traits, or anything that can boost speed.
Charr
Engineer
No Speed Boosts
10+ times now with 4 different characters (all with no speed boosts); they don’t have speed boosts because 3 of them are too low level.
Male Asura (small to middle model)
Female Human
Male Sylvari
Female Norn
Did them in that order to… I give advice to a lot of players doing the jump event and it basically comes down to watch a youtube video a couple of times as it helps tremendously as there are surprises on where you should jump, the puzzle doesn’t end at the first chest, and to wait for the clock tower face to break or you are in a for a world of frustrations above and beyond the “rising water” timer.
I’ve beaten it around 10 times between my Charr male and Human female.
Now I’m onto the challenge of grabbing both chests on the way up.
Human
Thief
No speed boost
Did it in about 20 tries with my Sylvari Ranger no speed boosts. Thrilling and rewarding. (Got exotic MF slippers )
Human Warrior
No speed boost
I tried it the first couple of days with no luck and was very frustrated after spending 3-4 hours. Then I came back last night and for some reason did much better and was able to do it after about an hour and 1/2.
So stepping away from it for a day really helped. Hardest part is before the big drop off. Once you can regularly make it to that, the 2nd half of the run is much easier in comparison.
Good luck to the people who are still trying. Dont give up!
13 hours
Norn Necro
No Speed Boost
twice, no slippers…
really enjoyed this addition, beat it with all my characters, didn’t use any speed boosts
sylvari mesmer many times
human guardian
asura elementalist
norn thief
charr necromancer
sylvari mesmer countless number of times.
no speed boosts.
Human Necromancer and no speed boost
Sylvari ele
passive speed trait 25%
I did yesterday… 1 and done never agean now that i know i can
“When I got to the top I had a message asking if I wanted to switch to the main server from the overflow”
I had that happen while I was running up the last leg during my successful run. I managed to click “leave queue” without throwing myself off a jump (which is impressive for me).
And the silly thing gets addictive after a while. I almost hope they keep it in so we don’t have to wait a year to run it again.
I support Tengu as a playable race.
Sylvari Elementalist 80, No boost (had to change the color of my bum flower to a bright red so I could see my character between all the charr and norn)
Human
Guardian
No boost
Human
necromancer
the funny thing is this: i was in overflow.. than i travel when the server was ready and.. i was completly alone for about 2 hours.. hust once came another player..
Charr
Warrior
None
Mid-sized Charr Necro, no speed boosts at all and “Mad King’s Clock Tower is now ready” pop-up halfway through which I couldn’t dismiss or I’d be caught, so I actually flew blind for the last quarter of the puzzle or so.
Everyone was naked though, so that made it a bit easier to see. It’s kind of an issue when huge Charr/Norn characters with flaming armors fill the place of course, but they usually fall off really soon.
Once I got to the “red area” I was pretty much the only one left and those that did keep up usually fell at the slanted cog or the beam before the “leap of faith”.
It took me a long time, probably longer than most, but I did it. Best advice: the hardest parts are near the beginning. Once you get to the two long stair climbs it’s actually pretty easy. Watch a youtube video of a successful run while you wait for the next go, it’ll help you know what to do. Good luck!
I’d spent hours. Originally with my tall, female, norn thief. (took off my chest piece to remove the bulky clothes in order to be considerate of other’s visibility) Then tried again later with my alt, sylvari necro. I appreciate that having a norn or charr blocking your camera view of the ground you are trying to jump off or on makes it practically impossible. (no speed boost)
If too many norns and charr entered the clock tower, i left to find one with fewer norns and charrs. I felt great when I completed it. Achievement completed. “moving on”
