Getting pushed into an overflow server and attending an event for almost 3 hours just to be disconnected fom Anet server on the final push is definitely not how an event should be working…especially if you are only running it one time on that day. This happened to my entire party and on return each of us was not able to join the others and lost access to the chest, I still enjoy GW2 but this is a seriously flawed system.

Mines not a DC, but still, didn’t get loot. I was in an overflow server, and well died (like everyone else) so after a while of waiting decided to repawn at the closest waypoint. Guess what? Load screen wouldn’t load, yet I could hear everything. :\ So I turned it off and on real quick and the event was over, and no chest for me.

Thanks for the effort anet, but you seemed to have let many people down. But I guess we all make mistakes..

I DC’ed during the event and I’m VERY displeased with you now Anet! Besides the atrocious lag and ridiculous difficult waves of reinforcements; the whole event being a big flop and missed out on my rewards and the kill! Not to mention i missed out on 2-3 hours of my time. I hope a Dev sees this and reports to Anet to compensate our rewards.

Lumbering through the reinforcements part only to be disconnected before the final portion? Logging back into see awesome loot being linked everywhere and not even getting a chest?

All content aside, I’m quickly being turned off by the lack of dumb disconnects and culling and lag during these ‘one time events’. Yeah, they’re awesome in theroy and planning and content, but NOT in execution. Arenanet needs to look to EVE for their server issue fixes.

And yes. I’m QQing becuase I didn’t get any loot unfairly, when everyone who did the same work as I got some great stuff.

Happened to me on the overflow server(I think) on Borlis. This is the worst. a bunch of time and I miss the end and the rewards.

Same here. Crashed at the end. Logged back in and tryed and tryed to get back in a server doing the event no luck.

Audio bug then crash.

I got to finish the event and loot the chest I think they should extend the final event for another day because I would be annoyed if I didn’t get to complete it

Yea, towards the very end of the event I somehow got stuck in a rock, forcing me to use a waypoint to get out. Of course it hangs curing the loading screen and eventually crashes. By the time I get back in I am on a different overflow and the event is over, No chest, no experience, not a single thing. Two and a half hours of work just to get screwed out of some pretty amazing rewards in the end. Seriously…

As above, but I’m being polite, because i’m a polite person. I am quite upset at the disconnection and swearing at you guys is not going to make anything better, but you need to fix this.

I am thoroughly displeased at the moment with the 5-or-so-minute despawn on the quest chest. I was here for the entire 2.5 hours of the event on my overflow, dealt with the lag, everything. I actually was trying to hold off leaving even though I had a flight to catch.

Finally I had to leave so I tethered my laptop to my phone while a friend drove me to the airport. When I logged back in the event was over, and I saw a chest but I had to run to it from where I had left myself. By the time I got there the chest was gone.

This means that I spent 2.5 hours of hard time and effort, as well as potential risk of missing my flight, all for nothing. No quest completion XP/Karma rewards, no chest rewards. All I walked away with were my massive armor repair fees.

ArenaNet tracks your progress during a quest. That’s how they trigger your Gold/Silver/Bronze rating. For a huge 1-time event like this they should use that data to determine who was in the event, and then have the chest stay for those people for an extended period. Otherwise all this told me was that, for future events, the only important thing is being there for the last 5-10 minutes.

Same exact thing happened to me. I was right at the end after participating FOR 2 HOURS. Right at the end… I get disconnected… and get nothing. I’ve never been so mortified, frustrated, disgusted and all around soul-crushed by a game. I can’t even look at the game now… I think it’s a good game, but every time I try to log in henceforth, I’ll always remember how I got screwed out of that one-time event in the Lost Shores. So, I’m not sure how I can even play this game anymore, given the stigma of a REALLY BAD experience.

This happened to me as well. It really, really sucks.

Got disconnected near the end, couldn’t reconnect to the same overflow server and got screwed. Wouldn’t be so bad if the event didn’t take over 2 hours.

Lost 3 hours of my time and I lose Connection at the end. Really? really? There’s no kittening system made for things like this? COOMMON

Same happened here, I’m very disappointed, not to mention livid beyond belief to the point of having to restrain myself from swearing profusely on here.
Ancient Karka had a sliver of health left, and bam. Get back in and the event is over. Tried logging in multiple times trying to access different overflows in the hopes that it wasn’t over in one of them; no luck.

I died and got an infinite loading screen when I tried to spawn at a waypoint. I had to close the game and reopen to get it to work. No credit or reward for 2 and half hours. I really hope Arenanet does something about this.

bout half of the ppl playing today got the same thing happen to them don’t know what arenanet going and do bout it but am for 1 might stop playing this game cause of it although i love it down to the core the way i lost out on the end of the event make’s me really upset arenanet good luck cause ya gonna end up losing alot of players thanks to that last event

I had the same problem…Got kicked out fo the server for 10 min.Finally got back online, and event was over…I check my map, saw where the reward chest was…Ran as fast as i could to get to it..Got there, trying to open it, while trying to open it, it just disapeard in front of my eyes, and i lost all my loot….YAY…Well, i added suport ticket, and hope ANet will give me my event reward.

what happened to me i piss off! look i know is hard to keep everyone in the game at once when a event is happening but still is unfair for some of us to dc and not get anything for being there… look just give us what u owe us it will not make up for this but it be a start

Doing the event for near 3 hours on my server, disconnected and when I logged back in was placed into a overflow where the entire event had already been completed. Seriously upset that I wasted all that time and get nothing because of your server problems. There had better be some kind of official apology or compensation for this bullkitten.

Got dc’d waited… logged back in client froze got error….not much else to say -_-

That was so much fun. Fought karkas for 2 1/2 hours, died on a ramp, had to return to camp, couldnt find path back to chest. Then chest vanished. F’ it.

I died outside the cave and got left behind by the mindless zerg. By the time I even managed to make my way back through the now respawned map, chest had despawned. Yay. Just stop trying ANet, you’re BAD at this.

Adding to the stack, 2 hours and server disconnect. No reward, great disappointment.

Also disconnected from server during final phase. Huge disappointment. Super lag-fest, unrewarding crap. Good idea, epic fail in execution!!!

I agree, I got DC’d 3 times and had to rerun it all three times going back and having to refight previously fought fights just to get kicked at the end. I reconnect and its over and no chest? I am very upset with this.

Indeed. Same thing happened to me. Right as we’re about to kill the final boss I died, went to a waypoint, and as the game was loading I ended up in another overflow where it was dead.
I want my rewards.
This is dumb. 1 time event and it NEVER happens again. Thats stupid, it should be an allday event.

Get up at 3:30am to experience once in a life time event. Spend hours fighting karka and lag, placing bombs and luring Karka back towards nest. Get DCed. Log back in to a different overflow which has only just started knocking down the tree to lure Karka back. Get DCed again 30 minutes later, log back in to an overflow that has finished event and now just get to hear how awesome killing the Karka was and how great the loot was. Log shows my connection speed did not change during this time so has to be something at the server end.

At the very least would be good to see some way of making sure you go back to the last overflow you were in if disconnected.

I was in this exact scenario, came back in, and ended up in the same overflow server when the kill happened only to DC while moving to the chest…unacceptable.

I was kicked early on, couldnt get back to my party in a different overflow server…frustrating.

I crashed at the end as well and can’t log back in.

i couldn’t even log in… ANet, fail… again

Got up at 3am on a work day for this event, labored for over 2 hours straight through insane lag just to be dumped to the character select screen during the final stage and reconect to an overflow server where the event was complete and miss out on a chest…

SO ANGRY!

Crashed before the end, spent the better part of an hour trying to log back in and still cant do it. Missed the end of the event, the loot and the fun.

Yes, happened to me too after 2.5hrs of fighting on the overflow server – rezzing people and pushing on, finally reached the final stage chasing him down the ramp to the bottom and game froze. Had to log back in – no reward.

I had a great time doing this but having seen some of the rewards others got from the chest I am really pissed as this was not my fault. I will be posting a seperate ticket in the hopes that something might be done for those of us who put in the time and effort and were denied the end reward.

i got disconnect at the very end of the event and didn’t got the rewards. Totally unfair =/

At least some people, got to participate, due to work I missed out so now I don’t get anything because… one time events are a bad idea, they reward people in specific time zones (or those that can afford to participate due to lack of time constraints) and punish those of us who have jobs/lives.

Not to mention that for once you put some half-decent rewards in and many people suffered due to DC’s, lag, crashes, timezone differences etc, which really punishes your player base.

Arenanet owes you nothing. This is a 60 dollar no sub game and they have your money already. These events are FREE. All hail Arenanet for this marvelous event.

In my opinion, there needs to be 2 different times for special events such as this…. I am a fireman, I was at a house fire and fought it today for about 3 hours and couldnt make it back on time to hit the event… i bought this game because it was supposed to be casual however if I cant be here at a certain time, I miss out on what appears to be really good loot and i also miss out on enjoying aspects of the game I cant see again….

Same thing for me dc at the end, get back in and no chest. 11s 39c repair bill and nothing to show for it. Pathetic to say the least Anet.

I spent my entire afternoon doing the event and got disconnected towards the end of the second reinforcement phase. By time I got back in, the event was over and the chest was gone. Perhaps it would have been considerate to give rewards all the way throughout the event instead of piling on the loot at the very end. What little loot I gained in the event wasn’t even able to cover my repair fees; meanwhile people who did not get disconnected received very valuable items and equipment.

Same here, kicked at ancient Karka. Rejoined another server where it was already dead. Kept trying but it seems dead on every server now

never been more unhappy with a video game in my life. people for exotics and 20 slots? i got a DC!
