Rethesis makes their movements very public. They had a huge thread basically asking to be recruited, and when that failed, they went to TC. This was after following WM to SOS or Kaineng (can’t remember which at this point).

Comparing that to a guild who has apparently been on one server until very recently would be very strange.

And what makes you think the thread failed? RE carefully considered where they wanted to transfer to, as any guild should when it comes time for them to transition.

Such is the harsh life of a bandwagoner.

Not sure what to do when servers in our matchup constantly calls us a blob. What are we supposed to do? Keep track of the number of people in a zerg and decide to leave if it goes beyond a certain number? During SEA prime, SoS also rolls in a giant blob and wipes the TC group in every head-on collision, and easily outnumbers us 2:1, but you don’t see us coming here and QQ-ing about being outnumbered, etc. Why can’t you just play your best, more fights less whine? It’s ;_; to read about your wins/losses against superior numbers, over and over and over again….

After facing SoS 4/5 weeks since this random matchups have started I just want to say that for the most part their oceanics have impressed me for being a consistent presence in all the matchups. I purposely try to adjust my schedule to play during that timeslot since SoS is able to get the PPT lead for a few hours then and give great fights. Your open-field is decent but that aspect of the game is always easy to bring up a level or two; its not like this is a difficult game in terms of open-field meta.

What I am really impressed by is your willingness to play longer hours and play a smart overall meta game. Your map hopping 20-25 man groups are quite a nuisance at times which has been shown by how many times you have reset NE/NW towers and Garrison as well as StoneMist on us without us being able to respond. During that timeslot as well your smaller groups do a great job at escorting and protecting your supply routes and responding quickly to any ninja attempts in SOSBL.

Its a shame that you guys are losing guilds because with a few NA guilds that show the same characteristics as your oceanic you and FA would have an excellent matchup (similar coverage). There would be little ‘PVDOOR / Nightcap’ because both of your primes are Oceanic timezones and secondary prime is NA.

I agree to an extent- whether or not a week is a win for anyone depends on the caliber of fights for me. Also every server has WvWers that rather kill then cap. Capping is a reward for the killing in my eyes.

The vast majority of players on SoS are absolutely not interested in competing in this kind of match. If they were they would have transferred off months ago with all the people who were. Now all you see is a sea of mixed SoS guild tags fighting lemmings from the overpopulated easymode servers and the outcome is generally the same. How is it the new ranking system let this happen five times? The SoS mismatch with TC is lasting longer than the stale matches from the old system.

You may be takling about another night, RE doesnt loose against evenly manned fights, atleast not open feild fights. Not even SoR would fight us without Arrow Carts in the open field. Not trying to sound kitteny, but I havent seen a FA Zerg during primetime with merely 35 people in it. RE wipes, FA has wiped us but I have yet to see a WvW guild that can wipe RE as a guild with even numbers. To back it up have any FA guild whisper Ethersin for a friendly GvG with even numbers.

At least we are well aware of our limitations…lol. Oh yeah and after I called him out on it he PM’d me challenging me to a 1v1. Because that toootally was what I was talking about.

We don’t work well with the community, we just spent much of last night with PYRO wiping TC over and over until we went to bed :’(

Fun fights for past hour with Maguuma in the TCBL really dont know what happed to SoS after my counter camp group left garrison. Really love fighting you guys especially when we do the chase game to kill some time running around the map. You guys might not have numbers but sure know how to at least give an interesting fight with a positive attitude towards the matchup that in which other lower tiered servers should practice. I hope to have more fights with you guys over the week in both EB and TCBL. Thanks for a good first day back from commander vacation Maguuma <3.

Rethesis makes their movements very public. They had a huge thread basically asking to be recruited, and when that failed, they went to TC. This was after following WM to SOS or Kaineng (can’t remember which at this point).

Comparing that to a guild who has apparently been on one server until very recently would be very strange.

The thread did not fail, we did everything we planned and Tarnished Coast was the most attractive.. end of story, Jade Quarry a close second.

I am sure if kitten was transferring and made a thread about it you may get 10 hits since you’re guilds reputation is terrible and you clearly don’t work well with the community on your own server. Mag and SoS are in a perpetual state of limbo. You can call us tier 2.5 servers with completely opposite primetimes. SoS or Mag drop we roflstomp, we rise we get stomped due to coverage issues.
SoS or us can’t really complain about the bad matchups or the random matchups. If it were reverted back to the old system it would be Mag/SoS/YB or EB(?) and we would be complaining about staleness/boredom and pvdoor aswell because no one has the Oceanic presence you guys have while our NA is stronger I presume. This is a kitten ed if you do kitten ed if you don’t situation.

I think facing new guilds and servers each week is fun, regardless of the ppt at the end of the day.

Maguuma/SoS/EB is my freaking dream match and it needs to freaking happen and happen soon.

I’ll also take FA/SoS and either Mag or EB for a match because FA has lost enough folks that I think it would be really tight.

Haha I love it when losing servers go on a crutch like ‘getting more bags or killing more in open field is really winning’. Sure whatever helps you guys sleep at night. Makes me wonder if these guys actually feel a sense of accomplishment by being mediocre to decent at open-field in this game? As if its difficult to master. The open field meta in this game is so easy to master its not even funny.

The true skill in this game is the macro and thats treating it like an RTS and managing your resources as efficiently as possible, those resources might be players, supply, guilds, militia, objectives but its the overall macro utilization of the four maps as best as possible. We have far superior coverage so we have more resources therefore there is no need for us to play an efficient resource utilization game against you guys so most of the time we will just serverblob with our map completionists and turn the maps blue.

When we face servers with competitive coverage to us we will blob less and utilize our resources better. Until then I am not going to apologize for our server being lazy and blobbing. If you guys want even numbered tests of ‘open-field’ just do some GvGs with a few TC guilds; quite a few of our guilds are working on that at the moment.

Um, Maguuma has been doing this since day one. This is nothing new that we have never cared about PPT, score, or winning. You’ll find that many other people on many other servers don’t either. It’s this weird thing called fun and score not being a factor to it.

Defence is fun. Ninja is fun. Havoc is fun. Dynamic Sentrying is fun. Macro is fun. Winning is also mostly fun against competitive opponents. This misconception that open-field is the only ‘fun’ aspect of WvWvW is exactly that; a gross misconception. All it takes is being curious about those aspects of WvWvW and applying yourself to master them.

Unless you are a guild whose capacity in open-field is close to or similar to european guilds such as Second Law, RG, VOTF & HB you cant classify yourself as being “good” at open-field. Its just as simple as that. There are only a few guilds from NA that even come close to the open-field meta that european guilds play at; those guilds would be TW and possibly AGG and even still due to the considerably larger size of their guilds they dont have the tight chemistry and strong core that the medium sized European guilds benefit from.

So Please stop tooting your own horns about being good at open-field when you are probably getting wiped more times to a map-completionist militia mixed group of TC’s and winning a few of those battles.

You want to be good at open-field, start enforcing builds, start dry running tactics 2-3 hours a day, working on specific terminology during communications, go around the map and break down each area into multiple small points and name each one in detail so that instead of moving from large general X area to large general Y area you are moving between exact points of contentions. Realize that most of the open-field in this matchup is probably going to happen in and around your keeps so focus on mastering those terrains and instead of coming up with kitten predictable on the fly tactics have pre-planned highly organized executable tactics for each possible scenario that can be thrown at you.

After you put in all that work and treat open field more like an e-sport, you can come back and say. “Yeah we are good at open field”
