SoS went from fighting 11th and 12th place and now it’s fighting 1st and 4th place after a week of fighting 4th and 6th place (and not even coming close to winning). This kind of ratings mismatch is incredibly destructive to morale, it’s what pushes people away from sPvP and it’s what pushes people away from WvW. At this rate it could be months before SoS is fighting against similair strength servers, and even if that happens there is a good chance the bizzaro ratings will start mismatching again.

I agree, I’m not sure what Anet is thinking but this new system seems quite broken. Why on earth would you have Rank 1 vs Rank 4 vs Rank 7 in one tier, that does not sound like variety it sounds more like a blowout. Anyway great fights on SoS BL, its nice to see some of the old faces from SoS and TC!

Was fun on SoS BL when the guilds actually fought individually.

I’d call it tough (and perhaps bad luck) rather than unfair. SoS NA people have been doing a great job so far. Let’s see how we go during oceanic time in a few hours. At the moment TC and SoS +ppt about equal.

Being from SoS, I’m not too worried by the match up. This is how the new system should work, pitting us against a variety of servers. Its just a bit unlucky that we got landed with higher population/coverage servers for the first couple of weeks. In time we will be up against lower population/coverage servers. Its just how the cookie crumbles.

But we will be out in force (with what forces we can muster) and showing the SoS spirit. We can still hold our own when we aren’t swamped by sheer numbers. The truck loads of sweet sweet bags I’ve been getting can attest for that.

The good part about this match-up, is fighting a T1 server again, and of course TC (for the 2nd week lol). For those of us that stayed after the fall of SoS, it really helps us remember those strats we used to use. Getting used to T4 has made alot of our militia too used to pvdoor. I for one welcome this challenge, as it will only help us grow as a server. Just a friendly reminder to all of my fellow SoS players, unequip your pants when the SoR train hits, it doesn’t hurt as bad :P

Are there any GvGers on TC or SoS?

On a more positive note, hopefully this will allow for some smaller teams/squads to form if SOS and TC don’t have a 50 man Zerg running in all 4 maps.

Sorry, I need to crawl off of the floor as I stop laughing. SoS, 50-man zerg? After reset night, we might get that in EB.

Overall, yeah, really could’ve done with a more relaxing week to recharge our batteries before we took on higher-tier opposition again. Haven’t rolled that way, unfortunately, so we’ve got what we’ve got. We’ll fight as hard as we can, but after the hours we put in last week, I don’t know if we were really ready for this.

Really fun reset night so far. We were struggling a bit on SoS BL. SoR was just everywhere but EB is just loot bags galore. Tons of fun.

Honestly this is the problem. Fresh faces or simi-balanced matches. While I am happy to see fresh faces this week. I honestly cannot say this is going to be a fun week for me. I take no pleasure in lopsided battles like this. Though I am sure TC and SoS look forward to the challenge we all know that coverage = king. And while they have skilled players and guilds their scores at the end of the week will not give them due credit IMO.

I know some people are hoping this urges the T1 servers to become less stacked. And I agree there is a huge coverage difference between T1 and T2 I have to say I wish more servers were like T1. Being able to log in at any time of the day and go into WvW and have action is a great thing for this game and I honestly wish every server was able to have that.

This is exactly how I view points in WvW. Idc about the PPT or overall points or whatever. I’m just there for some good mass PvP fights. Stupid towers and keeps just get in the way.

Big shout out to the TC forces we fought against on SoR BL. Your team moves VERY well, and you had my scouts and VTAC teams frustrated more than a few times trying to predict your movements and tail your teams. Your showing right out the gate was awesome, the kind of thing we would expect to see in a T1 match. Never seen the Woodhaven opener quite like how your commander did it, tip of the hat to you sir!

Overall, it was nice to see the same play that had us missing T2 when we fell below it on SoS. Looking forward to more of the same, and learning a lot from your commanders!

Weird I see a ton of people referring to SoR as Rank 1, now i’m no chest thumper but ratings in this game are determined by your overall cumulative point total. Which actually when you look at the rankings, BG is the number 1. If you actually look at BG matchup atm (we have an even one based on a numbers standpoint) you actually get to see what we can do without JQ riding on SoR’s coat tails. Hopefully most of you take this as informative, because i’m stating a fact (the ratings that is, I do not believe SoR initiates a 2v1 intentionally, but when you guys used to hit BG JQ rode your success and hit us while we were trying to stop you.).

I hope this week is all about ignoring the score and just having good fights. I had a blast a few hours ago in TC BL trying to defend Garrison. It’s nice having enemies you can respect again, and have some with with WvW just to have fun rather than want to win to shut the enemy up. Also nice to see the enemy actually fight and put up a good one rather than cower away and make excuses on these forums. Much respect to TC and SoS. Hope this week is all about fun rather than drama. It’s why I wanted away from Black Quarry so bad.

Forget the ranking system. BG is only a high tier because they recruit everyone possible rather than try to better themselves. SoR is number 1 because it grew based on skill.
