just for kicks, but there were 17 of us in that bl, and around 30 of ioj (more or less) at the gvg, so imagine that 17 players occupying those 30 players while u defended, so maybe we did a favor? after we left, they actually got another 30 players to actually wvw while you got another 17 so overall maybe that benefitted them? Not to start fights but just pointing it out.

But yes, we never wanted to gvg in our bl in the first place because for one, it was a long run since we had no waypoints, and second, its better to always meet that server guild half way at windmill so in this case DR bl would be optimal. (least in my opinion.)

Classic IOJ… [RUN] member runs half way across the zone to avoid a 1v1 his guildmate comes turns it into a 1v2 then talks kitten asking for a 1v1.

Then puts me on ignore when I respond with common sense and still to this second (10 minutes after this) spamming every type of umad comment imaginable. But clearly this kid isn’t mad at all… according to him anyway.

Nah, I got some people together to hit your borderlands way before I knew there was a GvG going on (which was about 5 minutes before we showed up).

I kind of figured someone would cry on the forums over it. Both some of IoJ’s best and ET’s best were at the GvG, so imo it equalized out. Sounds like you all had more anyway – we didn’t queue the map .

And to your previous post, no, we didn’t choose to hit you because some of you refused an agreement to flip a keep a few times for WXP. We chose to hit you because 1 commander on your server (you?) was pretty rude about the whole thing. I was fine with you all refusing – it was a long shot anyway – but to start name calling and chest thumping when I was just proposing a cooperative WXP farm; that was uncalled for.

And while we may not have taken your entire BL, we did get some good loot bags off of wiping you guys a few times as well as your EB keep and Bay xD. I will have to give that Garrison defense to you, though. I think we kept your keep contested, but it seemed like a lot of people showed up over and over . At any rate, it was definitely fun.

DDLG is just one guild of many on Devonas Rest. DDLG is not the entire DR server, although sometimes it may seem like it’s the only guild WvW oriented. We sank to the bottom because our guilds left, DDLG is still here. One guild can’t bring a server to tier 1, so blaming our servers failure on one guild is completely irrational.

By the way, from Maguuma: IoJ is bad get on our level, superior tactics and skill. IoJ is a trashy piece of crap server with players who are full of themselves and buy stacks of superior siege to make up for their extremely low overall skill level. For a server with so much coverage and so many WvW oriented guilds you shouldn’t be such a low tier. Wouldn’t be surprised if your bad attitudes are the reason those fairweathers don’t show up when you need them.

Well considering there was more IoJ there watching the GvG then ET folks by near double the numbers it was a net gain for ET.

All it would of taken is a simple send saying the BL has a queue and we would of moved with no problem, we did do just that in fact.

Now you are going to post on the forums about how happy you are a fellow ET trolled other ET players? Leave your high tier infighting drama kid kitten at the door this is small community ET, our guilds work together or at the very least don’t publicly and in game troll each other.

For those of you not in the loop, The commanders of ET turned down a WXP swap farming of DR’s EB. I knew ET would turn down the farming swaps and Im glad they did, also expected IoJ to come calling because they have been near absent in ET BL. Whatever the reason behind IoJ finally attacking our BL is moot, that’s the point of WvW.

ET commanders did the right thing tonight, and BS relocated the GvG when we found out the BL had a queue. The only ET people that did something messed up was those that trolled the GvG and your kitten saying how happy you are about it.

Actually, one of our more talented WvW guilds was semi-tied up (iirc) with the GvG. Regardless, if there were a grand total of 6 people involved, then that was six too many imho. (queue or no queue)

Nope, not me. I don’t know what was said, but I think the general sentiment, from many of us, is “we don’t make deals” and we’ll stand on our own merit. We especially don’t team up against the “weaker” server in a three-way matchup. I’m not speaking for everyone ofc, and I can imagine that you probably didn’t get the most eloquent of rejections from that individual, but there it is.

I personally don’t think GvG battles add one single thing to WvW. At all. This view will always color my thoughts about them. As a guild, when was the last time you led the charge in defending a keep or taking one? You have some GREAT people in your guild. One of them is Nuocemen (I know I butchered that name, and I’m sorry.) That guy is EVERWHERE and is a great help to the server with his general participation in ALL aspects of WvW. For the record, you’ve been more vocal about your disdain for non-GvG activities (and “PUGS” in general) than I have ever been about GvG battles. (You’re not Nuo, are you? That would be ironic and terribly confusing at the same time.)

I get that ANET doesn’t offer an outlet for GvG though, especially one that doesn’t lead to these types of conflicts, and I can certainly agree with you that it’s a needed addition.

(edit: and also, why Sunday? Was it an impromptu thing? I thought they were mostly on Thursday since it is normally the least important day of the matchup since the match is usually decided. Or am I thinking of Fight Club?)

You should. Every cap every ppt point, it all matters. The caliber of your roamers, your commanders, server morale. It all matters.

ET will forever wallow in the lowest ranks because you guys don’t have it together.

And while you’re attacking me, I have a few friends on ET who has concerned moving to other servers like Gom, IoJ, HoD. They see the same things we’ve pointed out here.

And just liek the last time I was against ET (as a GoM commander) you guys are going to turtle after tonight. There wont be an ET force in WvW. Your morale is already so kittenty that the few fairweathers you have will peel away.

If you REALLY care about WvW, then dump ET and go to a real server. You might personally be worth a kitten but you’re casting pearls before swine.

Ok honestly you are have no idea what your talking about.. ET used to be last place and sat there forever, we are now moving to 21st place because we have come together as a server, ET is a powerhouse, we have skill, communication, and teamwork that most servers dont have, the only thing you can say over ET is that at times different servers have more of a timebase coverage over our server or more people that play the game in there server.

Over time people will see what we have seen we moved from first place blackgate(IoM) to join up with the ET server community and together with all the guilds on this server we are slowly climbing the ranks, talk all you want about ET but you have no idea what your talking about and have no clue about how the core of our server runs or what we are about.

Do your research go ahead and transfer to some big tier’d server where you are never gunna get into wvw because all BGs will have a ques or be smart and join a server with a good community and base, Roaming is needed for all servers but all this 1v1 crying kitten or getting mad because you get zergd is bs, its Guild Wars get your guild together and be about what you say with your skill or shut your mouth,

Whoever have friends that are currently on this server and actually are getting involved in WvW would already know what ET is on and what we are about just remember at the end of the day this is a game and just because you have more of a timebase coverage over a smaller growing server dont mean kitten.

You know, I’ve seen a lot of Internet forums over the last 20 years or so. And one constant is that the guy who demonstrates his ignorance most loudly always mistakes everyone’s reactions for “hitting buttons”.

Sometimes when people are trying to correct you, it’s because you’re genuinely wrong.

What if that person’s corrections are wrong?

I mean really. I transferred from GoM. GoM wiped our kittens with ET.

Its not that you guys suck. You guys have some good players, you just can’t keep coverage or control of your pugs.

I’m not exaggerating when I say things are changing in ET WvW from week to week. ET is already better than it was a month ago.

I still think we have quite a ways to go before we rival IoJ, so don’t take this as a “we’re going to wipe the floor with you this week” sort of post—that’s not the intent. But please don’t assume that, since you’ve faced ET in the recent past that it’s the same server. It’s not, either in morale, skill, or coverage.

Most of the responses you’re seeing to your original post about ET are ET’ers trying to tell you that it simply doesn’t mesh with what they see first hand, and yes, offended that you’d say ET is still bottom of the barrel when, for the first time in nearly a year, ET isn’t.

I don’t understand all the trash talk coming from IoJ about the current matchup. DR is primarily a PvE server so with something huge like Clockwork Chaos of course you’ll dominate the scoreboard for WvW. Serious WvW has been dead the entire week, even reset night was unimpressive.

Just take a step back and realize that maybe DR hasn’t “given up” but most are doing the living story. I’m sure the same is happening for ET. Give it all a rest and just enjoy the dull repetitive living story for this week haha

On a different note, I hate that DR is focusing on the living story. I’ve had some fun in WvW so far but we are always outnumbered. Oh well, no repair costs!

Wish we could give you a better fight though. It would be an entirely different week in WvW if the invasions weren’t so farm-worthy. Till next we meet I guess!

IoJ has gotten a fair few transfers and we’ve been working really hard to pick the server up and after winning the last two weeks against higher rated servers than yours it isn’t fair that we are against you guys.

It makes no sense that some members of our community feel the need too kitten talk, many IoJ dislike this week as much as you because its boring for us as much as you.

To IoJ directly, we should be using this week to refine our roaming skills and practise fighting small teams rather than pretending that PPT will matter.

The continued pointless arguing is actually hurting IoJ guys, it makes our sever seem really chilidish and lame, we could have absorbed some DR this week but instead they went elsewhere so knock it off, ignore the DR haters and empathise with their situation because we’ve been there.

The excuse “X server is a PvE server” is overused… I recall FC saying that when they first lost #23 to ET (the week I came to ET). GoM used the same excuse when they dropped to T8 and lost (saying it was SAB fault). HoD used the same excuse when they didn’t caused the (Ho)Domination of T8 they promissed. ET also used this excuse many times…

The only servers that aren’t focused on PvE are gnashing each other for the first place (JQ/SoR/BG). Even the Tarnished Coast (which is the #4) is a PvE based server (They love Dolyak parades and RP stuff), so anything under that cannot use the excuse of “PvE based”.

PvE events dent WvW population? Yes, they definetly do… But it will happen on DR, on ET, on IoJ, on anyone down here… The only thing is that IoJ actually have more people even without the guys that are killing Scarlet minions. So let us (not only DR) stop pretending that Clockwork Chaos is the reason that we are “losing”, and try to have fun with the population imbalance we have been put against.

I don’t expect you or everyone to like gvgs. I respect that some people want to defend/take towers and work at the ppt and overall score. I would expect everyone else to respect the fun people have at gvgs. Everybody plays this game to have fun. Let GvG’ers have their fun and whoever wants to go roaming or take towers.

There was no need to “troll” the gvg. If someone had asked in map chat or whispered one of the BS leaders, the gvg would have been moved to another BL. Like Xom said, the gvg was moved since ET BL was queued.

A bit of respect and communication would have gone a long way.

I’d like to apologise on behalf of IoJ to both DR and ET for this thread.

IoJ has gotten a fair few transfers and we’ve been working really hard to pick the server up and after winning the last two weeks against higher rated servers than yours it isn’t fair that we are against you guys.

It makes no sense that some members of our community feel the need too kitten talk, many IoJ dislike this week as much as you because its boring for us as much as you.

To IoJ directly, we should be using this week to refine our roaming skills and practise fighting small teams rather than pretending that PPT will matter.

The continued pointless arguing is actually hurting IoJ guys, it makes our sever seem really chilidish and lame, we could have absorbed some DR this week but instead they went elsewhere so knock it off, ignore the DR haters and empathise with their situation because we’ve been there.

Thank you for your reasonable post. It makes me know that there are still nice people out there……

We lost to ET last week, we once overtook them during weekdays, but… I think there are several reasons for that outcome, and I’m not just talking about population or numbers.

I don’t know if I’m playing for points or not, however it’s very hard for me to “play” in a situation like this in DR. I think DR is in limbo for a very long while, PvE or WvW. Our temples are rarely unlocked… and even in the WvW match-up 2 weeks ago with AR and FC, there wasn’t so much excitement or fun. After the “winning” -² over AR and FC, we lost to FC and ET.

…and now we are not even the “pretty the same DR”.

I was on and off yesterday during daytime. Retook several north camps, claimed them for giving people 15 supply (once with the help from one [SoCo] member), ordered some double supply deliveries, killed sentries and walked yaks for Garrison upgrades.

Can’t remember if I personally started the walls and hired 2nd worker… Anyway I ordered the cannons before I upgraded the doors -¹, and thus successfully fended off 10-15 ET at Garrison’s upper west gate in the morning or around noon. At least killed the ram with one of the inner north cannons and my cannon mastery, then our mini zerg led by Spirit coming to help from EB went out and cleaned up the mess. Later in the evening, we also successfully defended Garrison with cannons several times . (upper east gate, watergate, lower east gate -> http://imgur.com/a/BAct5#3 )

I built the mortars, ordered the service before the waypoint up, and, hehe, delivered the waypoint. Enough for me in a match-up like this.

¹ We need sieges but it’s highly unlikely that those sieges will survive even 2hrs, for it’s early and our people on map always have other issues on hand.

² I gave up sieging Garrison on Wednesday or Tuesday — let alone Hills or Bay, and went to look for balloon towers, complete Queen Jubilee achievement, and my last 1% world map — after waiting for like forever, decided to try and solo’ed the skill point in Temple of Grenth………

Actually, that sentence you quoted was a genuine thanks to the people in the GvG that decided to pack it up and/or move to another BL. I even reiterated it in another post further down (that, granted, could have been lost in the wall-o-text).

I don’t understand all the trash talk coming from IoJ about the current matchup. DR is primarily a PvE server so with something huge like Clockwork Chaos of course you’ll dominate the scoreboard for WvW. Serious WvW has been dead the entire week, even reset night was unimpressive.

The excuse “X server is a PvE server” is overused… I recall FC saying that when they first lost #23 to ET (the week I came to ET). GoM used the same excuse when they dropped to T8 and lost (saying it was SAB fault). HoD used the same excuse when they didn’t caused the (Ho)Domination of T8 they promissed. ET also used this excuse many times…

The only servers that aren’t focused on PvE are gnashing each other for the first place (JQ/SoR/BG). Even the Tarnished Coast (which is the #4) is a PvE based server (They love Dolyak parades and RP stuff), so anything under that cannot use the excuse of “PvE based”.

PvE events dent WvW population? Yes, they definetly do… But it will happen on DR, on ET, on IoJ, on anyone down here… The only thing is that IoJ actually have more people even without the guys that are killing Scarlet minions. So let us (not only DR) stop pretending that Clockwork Chaos is the reason that we are “losing”, and try to have fun with the population imbalance we have been put against.

I wasn’t excusing DR from anything. Yes, I know that many servers say that they are PvE servers. It probably is a very common “excuse”. What I’m saying is that since DR is not known to have many hardcore WvWers, it’s obvious you will not see many DR in WvW this week. My post was a response to all the IoJ that are talking trash and proclaiming their dominance. Is IoJ better than DR? Maybe, maybe not. But we certainly won’t find out this week. You wouldn’t believe how dead WvW has been for us. So I simply was just addressing all the trash talkers saying “ppt”. You can’t think that IoJ can dominate WvW that much with DR and ET actually playing WvW consistently this week. Of the 3 in this current matchup, there had to have been a server that plays more often than the other two so that they end up taking most of the map.

Basically, the trash talking this week from all 3 servers is nonsense. There’s no chance to back it up so why even do it?
