GvG is primarily a battle of compisitons, we have won and lost to the same guilds time and time again and the variance in outcomd was heavily comp based. We didnt have our guild thieves or ranger to be able to switch it in order to have the ranger and thieves dismantle ur thieves and engi who was shredding oyr healers in the opening seconds. Never said its everything but in a fight so small where each death has signifocant impact, it cannot be lightly overlooked.

Yea I know about GF. They only fought a few t1 guilds agg ns and ark being the big ones. They were undefeated in their climb. However they fought as many 10v10 as they did 15s. 10s is more like spvp then gvg. Nevertheless they did well.

You want to know one way to counter “counter periphery”? Have your periphery tighten up on the driver when they are being focused so when they do go down, they can be rezzed within seconds. Though, that does require your team to not be fail. Also helps if the periphery know how to effectively locate and evade incoming damage from various sources (which you can do). How do I know? I ran staff elementalist for the vast majority of my gvgs and thus, experienced pressure from every source you could imagine.

I have also seen every composition and playstyle fight. I can confidently say each one has a fighting chance. ARK ran a heavy burst melee against our balanced comp (with counter periphery). Getting caught by Arks melee train was a very real threat to our periphery and that kept them constantly relocation to stay safe which brought down our overall damage. I would wager DIE spent the majority of their time trying to kill BB’s melee train allowing BB’s periphery to free cast (that is bad…really bad). Also, yes, Ark managed to even kill members of our counter periphery team on multiple occasions just by them getting caught in Ark’s melee train.

Nobody owns the OS as I trried to explain to your server mates and my own. Its a giant arena who can tell the difference between seeing a few peoplr fight and a 2v2 ‘gvg’. It was two three guildies they went in during off hours and fought or died or did whatever they wanted.

It happens, I’ve made that mistake myself. I wasn’t there but I vote for taking Die’s word for it that it was a mistake and moving on. Also, even if a couple BB members were involved, this was not a BB incident. Leave us out of it, and no need to take shots at us. If you think it’s easy pulling together people from multiple guilds to do these gvg’s, trust me it’s not. It’s how we get to gvg so it’s well worth, but as a guild (or w/e you want to call us) we’ve done nothing to justify these shots, and to the contrary have been nothing but gracious with our opponents, Die included.

We did get stomped. But not by EBay. In the history of the servers BP has 7 wins vs. EBay’s 14. 12 of EBay’s 14 came during the 13 week war which ended June 8th. The other two came in league and were due solely to Yaks, not EBay. Since June 8th we have consistently been the better server but you folks simply can’t admit it.

BTW, If you’d have lost you’d be saying league doesn’t even count.

Funny how perceptions coincide with reality…Yak’s and Ebay separated, and Yaks is losing to SBI as well. Did learn in the Yaks/Ebay realtionship who the pitcher and catcher was, Ebay always 2nd.

Our suspicion is that the 3 in our TS last night was from MM/Rekz(?) not sure though. They kept asking us about what we think about those guilds specifically. In all honesty, we probably play in different time zones so we don’t encounter those guilds in full force so can’t really say. But we say some of the guilds we encountered like [LOST], [VP] and a few others are formidable and you guys go thoroughly trashing them how they’re just transfers holding down coverage blah blah. It was astonishing, I thought CD trolled their own guilds. But you guys got issues.

The important thing to take away from this matchup is that Zara’s character is possibly the ugliest one I’ve seen. Maybe wear a helmet to cover that bit up. Second, SM doesn’t want to be mine. Last night, we catapulted the paper wall down only to find an invulnerable wall INSIDE THE OTHER WALL. I was like ‘WTF’ and then Lost came and beat me up while I was reporting the wall.

Also, as another side not: Tira, I thought you were Bus, so when I said I was beating up on Bus, I meant you. Your thief friends saved you on Saturday mid-afternoon. I had you down and then you disappeared into a stealth field. It made me sad.

All kitten-talking aside, I think this matchup will be nice in a few weeks when everyone’s bored of taking a break. Last week, BP ran away from us when we tried to fight. This week, it appears (from what I have heard) that Ebay is running away from BP.

Edit: Also, to the CD guild that is INTENT on portal bombing: it gets old and then we start to expect it. Maybe try troll bombing or something to vary up the tactic. Or maybe no portals at all. It may be useful if you’re facing different servers or guilds more consistently, but at the moment we see the tag, see the mesmer, and know the portal bomb is coming.

Fractals? The dual-boss fight from the Flame and Frost event is now included in the Fractal line-up. The running rumor is that any Sentinel’s armor dropped in there can be salvaged to get the exotic Sentinel’s insigs. I’m trying to prove or disprove that rumor, though wondering if it’s fact just based on that they have once again begun trickling into the TP averaging 70-80 gold each.

Rekz rarely visits BP TS let alone another servers TS. We have better things to do like figure out how to best manage our little influence for the next upgrade. By the way, we’re not the only Rekz in the match up. Might want to check out Ebay’s Rekz. He’s on more around your time. Not affiliated with us though.

It’s cool with us. Just giving you guys a heads up. Others on CD and other servers might take more offense. We thoroughly enjoyed entertaining ourselves as we told them there’s a 25golem rush that’s being prepared in BP BL and we had to goto another TS to coordinate. Then most of us logged off and went to sleep.

MM and Rekz were the two guilds they kept asking what we thought of them. Don’t actually know if noodles and his compadres are in them. Just giving you a heads up in case they are and talking smack in the background within your own ranks.

I would just like to clear up a few things about Borlis Brawlers [BB].

We are basically a spiritual successor to Kyle Finnegan’s guild [Soul] who a short time before going pretty much defunkt had participated in a few GvG’s. Some of us really enjoyed them in particular Martin Firestorm who in turn created [BB] when [Soul] stopped running.

[BB] is not an all star GvG team, at least not by design. [BB] has welcomed everybody who has ever asked us to join and participate in our GvG’s. From week to week we have 10-12 core members that show up to every match the rest are totally up in the air until minutes before our matches usually.
We do all play together to some degree as most of us share multiple other common guilds but we have never practiced as a group.
Our GvG comp can be significantly different from match to match and there is very little discussion in regards to composition, we go with what we have every week and if we find ourselves with more than 15 people we sub them in to give them a chance to play.
Also we have been using a different driver in the last 2 matches than we are used to. I would not call him a “backup” driver because I don’t think he is any less of a driver than our normal driver he just has not been the driver as often.

Like potato said earlier, it was BSty that was doing a friendly 2 v 2. This is what hAppened and this is why I have a problem with some of the members from DIE. Three DIE members (Leeefs and two others, which I can not recall the names) came and interrupted during the middle of the fight. After potato and Zara wiped those three, they came bak and did it again. After they got wiped a second time, I went into your TS channel and asked you guys to stop. Initially, they agreed, but after 5 minutes into the fight they interrupted again. Think this happened a total of 4-5 times. Eventually we just moved to borderlands to finish the duels.

Yes, Zara roflstomped me when she told me she wanted to try a mesmer 1v1 and came with a good old perplexity build. Yes, I lost. Was there an assumption that I was any good at 1v1? No. I’m friendly with Potato, which means I have communicated amicably with Zara. I thought I was doing someone a favour, but apparently it was something to brag about.

Anyways, from these conversations with Potato and Zara, we found a mutual love of trolling Razgerb (which has landed me on his blocked list, even till this day). After Raz blocked us all, we took to trolling each other at which time it became a thing to refer Zara’s character as “the ugly human guardian that looks like she was hit by a bus.” So, take things a little less seriously please. I could take this to a place where I infer that you’re a homophobe, but I won’t. I don’t know you. Therefore, I can’t actually contribute to any conversation about you (something that you obviously didn’t get). I actually like Zara. She’s a super troll, and as long as she lives under her little bridge with Potato, I’m happy to leave her there and troll her right on back.

Now you see the issue here. Inexplicably, Ehmry Bay, or at least a few individuals under it, is under the impression that a league match in a league that nearly nobody wanted, for the reward of a few golds and greens, actually somehow matters more than a decent, even match where the server matchups are more fair and are in a clean slate from the demoralization of leagues that occurs.

I’d like to take this a bit further. EBay essentially suggests that they hold about zero accountability for the results of this match because they are on break – exactly what happened against our last match against EBay and Yaks in reverse – we were just finished with a close match with CD and thus wanted a break, whereas EBay just came from being propelled by YB ahead of SBI (not going to try to argue a YB-EB alliance for our week, but SBI week was obvious), and thus was under major morale boost.

What this shows is pretty simple – when the only league-favoring difference between the matches is simply “one gets you possibly an extra green if your server manages to rank up due to a match”, in contrast to all the negative effects that leagues offered, really, in terms of what matters and does not matter, what is really the difference between the matches? Ehmry insists that our last match was an embarrassment for us, and that we should be utterly ashamed even though a lot of us were on break, however, when some of them are on break this match, suddenly they should have near-zero accountability. So, I guess this double-standard sort of takes place. BP is guilty of it as well – we insist the previous match shouldn’t matter, because of a supposed YB-Yaks alliance, and because we just came from a close match and put our efforts there. In reality, if the standards for what counts for a server are equal, either neither match matters, or both do. Plain and simple. I’d argue, myself, for the first one. Though, beware, this comes with somewhat of a caveat – on the relatively next even matchup that occurs, note that it has to be even to prevent the top server and 3rd-place from heavily focusing on second, there will be no real excuse when we win. PvE? Both servers have PvErs. Not the other server’s fault if a side can’t bring your PvErs in. Outnumbered? Not the other server’s fault if a side can’t or doesn’t want to attract numbers.
