It’s quite good what we achieve with our numbers …… just a shame Anet have deployed a strange leaderboard/ranking/points system that enables us to be matchkittened.

Once i find how to fix my E2200 Killer Network adapter from disabling itself i will be in WvW more……….until then comrades you will have to here my screams of frustration is TS as i have to queue up again for the 100th time.

Desolations is the best server, even if we have pugs that run around without heads!

On the whole a good night on Deso map we had a Quaggan of a time. Server forces were more equally matched than normal and i almost forgot we were in a mismatch with elona and Kodash.

With [EXG],[AFTL] and [UNIT] and many more taking to the field with whatever we could throw at our opponents, Elona arrow carting our trebs down from garrison and us returning the favor at Sunny Hill Elona and their what seemed to be entire map force scrambling through south eastern gate at Garrison and swarming the place only to be eventually repelled to [AFTL] capping Hills with 6 people whilst [EXG] pressured hills (did try another attempt later when Elona took it back but got bum rushed by Kodash lol) Kodash finally picking up the pace after declaring Hills for themselves and being bold enough to roll on to Cragtop.

Definitely an interesting night for all im sure keep it up

A very weird night.

I suppose points don’t really matter for Elona but we want to finish 2nd for once as silly as it sounds cause we’ve been ‘losing’ for months even though we could well end up with Vizunah or any other server which would be too strong for us. PV’dooring isn’t that enjoyable even its within the rules but we had some good fights last night and I had fun finding ways to avoid getting hit by tons of AC’s.
[EXG] actually didn’t have a official raid going last night I was given control of the pugs with the help of some of my guildies on Deso BL, it wasn’t easy with them skirmishing everywhere at first only for them to eventually learn to follow my tag but with the help of AFTL and other it worked out in the end. There is more to following a tag though on EB it seems different but I’ve heard of losing T3 towers for silly reasons, our pugs still have alot to learn other than joining the zerg then again I think most servers rely on their pugs outside of prime time and we have to end up border hopping most of the days to improve our PPT like at night instead of stacking on EB yet we need to be careful of burn out.

Had a blast last night! First some epic “once in a lifetime” -golem rushes on Elona’s Hills that failed every time. But hey, we had tons of fun!

Then TLA’s official www-event, where we probably broke the participant-record! Thanks guys for attending! Still a slacker PVE-guild, but whe are getting there. PERKELE!

After our official stuff, lots of Deso players just decided to have fun and get their artistic mood on. Lets paint some green stuff! Thanks for everyone last night and sorry.

Yeah border map conflict is a different kettle of fish from EB if you’re a regular to EB it takes awhile to get your head round the different playstyle involved, border maps are small in comparison to EB if you’re stacking forces it is easily spotted by your opponent and having a large group with smaller skirmish forces is essential as most of border map conflict is based around a war of attrition more so than direct conflict.

Your opponent will strive to pressure everything you own they will flip camps and snipe dolyaks whilst simultaneously assaulting objectives to drain supply and wear you down. EB is more of a free for all perhaps even zerg busting, in border maps it’s the little guys in the havoc squads and camp flipping/doly sniping squads that primarily put the pressure onto even the largest of opponents through hampering, diverting and splitting opponents, whilst the main friendly body can maneuver with ease.

Despite that you did a very good job commanding the map your level of calmness is applaudable and communication was excellent i was able to relay what our AFTL raid and what you were doing smoothly step by step you asked for a camp flipped it was done you asked for another assault on hills we tried and when we couldn’t assault Cragtop with our numbers vs the many AC’s we were able to let you know and you responded promptly whilst we diverted to foghaven and met an opposing group on the cliff path holding them up till you caught up and stomped them

Indeed not very sportsmanlike i have to applaud the Elona zerg last night that completely ignored me solo in the lake on deso map flipping quaggans when you could have simply crushed me in a second.

Och i was going today to a supply camp, and suddenly a thief popped up.. hit and stealth hit and stealth etc etc.. eventually he killed me but i was certain he was still there.

So I bought a stealth trap, and went back to the same cross over spot.. and guess who popped out of stealth again.. so I putted endure pain on and build my stealth trap on me ( hit and run thief always run miles away to re cooldown ) he came back.. hitted me and hit the stealth trap too.

And ye he went away, but he stopped in his stealth field.. pin down, 100 blade and he was downed.

Was fun! Then he did a party invite and guess what he says :" Stupid noob "

i just kiled a s/d thief after a 10min hit/stealth/teleport around like kitten chase…so yeah , they surley have the most kittening annoys mechanics ever, maybe i just dont have the patience for a 10min fight , i dont know…but i prefer mesmer , ele , engi as opponents than a s/d teleport and stealth like crazy thief..

ps: if the thief i worte about read this , no i wont duel you again , 10min for a duel is way to long , and yes i will /laugh everytime i find your dead body

They were with 20 ppl, and me and someone else were ‘Trying’ to defend our tower. But every arrow cart got destroyed from the outside by another arrowcart that we could not hit! lol

I thought AC was made for defence, but the attacking arrow cart wins..

The problem is: When does it start to be an exploit, when is it comfort?
When you have a large screen? (e.g. 2560 × 1440)
When you have 3 large screens? (e.g. 3 times 2560 × 1440: 7680×1440)
When you use windows?
When you use a wide, thin window (which ratio)?

I agree with you that it is (WvW-) game breaking with attacks that do not need a LoS.
I agree with you that ANet should add a MAXIMUN view angle to be used whatever hard- and software configuration you have.

That’s exactly the reason why I said: Till there is a limit, everyone on an AC should use it. If you use it as well, you can destroy the attack AC. (because your AC is already there while the other one is build)

You are also to blame. It seems like you had no siege defenses already built in Klovan. It seems you were also alone (or with a fellow “noob”) in Klovan and got no assistance.

By the way, did you want to destroy an AC “around 8 meters behind the door” by building one on the ground level of Klovan? I may be unexperienced in WvW, but I thought AC built on ground level would only target what’s sticking the door, not farther. (and I’m not looking for the exact pixel to target through the doorhole, not my thing)

Thanks to Kodash and Elona Reach for the good fights this week, maybe a few too many carts sometimes but in general, some of the fairest ones we’ve had for a long time. Good luck for next week.

We had already build on upper lvl, but I was the only one and I got AOE on me. Everytime I wanted to rebuild in the tower.. they killed the blueprints even all the way in the back.

That’s why I was showing this.. We couldn’t build any defence AC. Even not all the way in the back.

Great work from Desolation, 2nd this week. I haven’t seen all our borderlands full for so long time. And our TLA raid having 27 people at Kodash BL. I think that was a new record. In general our WvWvW activity has been really good from Wednesday to Friday this week.

If somebody wonders what happened to BUKA and TLA 5 vs 5. I got invited to a party by a BUKA member. All I could write was “Hallo” to party chat. Then I was killed by 5 of them. Oh well, 5 vs 1 is almost same as: 5 vs 5.

I am not raging here and in fact one Kodash engineer apologized what happened. I take it as a compliment that enemy needs lots of people to kill me while I flip the supply camps and flip quaggans. If one Desolation player can tie the hands of many enemy players constantly it means less points to those enemy servers. Sometimes those many vs me alone last a long time. I might end up killed or killing 1 or 2 of them and getting away, but after so many minutes, I know that their 3-6 man enemy roaming team wasn’t scoring any points for their server. The best is when you can cap the objective alone while still handling the enemy players.

I hope this reset Desolation would face completely new servers, we haven’t fought against this year.

Well done on 2nd place my fellow Desolators, I do feel sorry for Kodash though I know you lost many big guilds like we did but still fight on for each other.
I’m positive we’ll get a balanced and interesting matchup this time.

Well done this week, we had some very nice fights with both elona and kodash.

I am also happy to see that desolation is on the rise. We will reach our full potential in some time and we will be stronger then before.
