Agreed. JQ lost a 10k+ ppt advantage going into the school/work week last round…..

No ones going to be able to tick 400++ ppt for hours on end during the weekends when players are staying up late to play. Work/School week however is a different animal…everyone in Tier 1 should know this by now, haha.

This is exactly how we on Blackgate have won the past few weeks. We let JQ go nuts on the weekend, and during the week we slowly get point advantage.
Matches are not decided on the weekend, they’re decided Monday-Thursday.

It’s always been this way, not just for BG. 5 day work/school week > 2 day weekend. As everyone SHOULD know by now, coverage game don’t play out until the weekdays come.

too early to tell, and too hard to tell actually now BG and SoR are improving their coverage. From now on the match will probably be determined by many other factors than coverage alone.

For JQ, despite what i usually said about JQ, i do believe that they still have the potential to make a come back. Its large PvE population is a weakness, but it can also be a strength. Now that the new dungeon is removed, we shall see if those gold medals
actually mean anything significant other than “I have better SEA coverage”.

Strength:
strong SEA
some decent guilds.
large pve population

Weakness:
Unstable pve force
Lacking hardcore wvw guilds.
guild drama, what i have heard from a very reliable source.

For BG, it’s weakness is lack of consistency, we all know that it can suffer from short period of burn-out. But BG guild’s passion for wvw is its biggest asset. You should never underestimate a server that’s willing to play overtime to win a match. I still do think there’s a pretty chance BG will come out on top. I think it has the most balanced coverage in T1.

Strength:
Balanced coverage across different timezone
Strong SEA, decent NA
playing overtime

Weakness:
burnout, lack of consistency.

For SoR, IRON will definitely give SoR the edge over other 2 servers to compete for the No.1. SoR’s new EU will probably recover the points lost during SEA prime time and building a groundwork for NA. SEA coverage is still an issue but i actually think the current SoR SEA guilds are doing a solid job so far, given the size of SoR SEA population.

IRON really doing there work it seems and the scary part is they still have 60 more members to transfer over. As we all know though the war is won during the working week so lets hope everyone stays strong!

Umm wish you were right on this mate, but i think most who will transfer have already done so, we may get another 10-20. I think/hope maybe a hundred or so will of transfered alot of whom used to play in unsociable non euro hours. Sadly we have left alot of friends behind.

Anyway the point made by Letoll was totally right we did not have large numbers this weekend but had commander coverage so were able to help make the best use of the resouces available.

Must say we are all loving life on SoR, the people are fantastic, great players, with great coordination and we feel right at home. Also the competition (at least this weekend) has been really challenging so thks to bg and jq for that.

SoR works overtime during weekends??? This is news to me, figures the first time we are not down by 10k points by Sat morning we are all working overtime lol. That first EU guild we have ever had sure does HUGE work for us. Guess all the pvd complaints will come from bg/jq this week.

I leave for a few days and everyone and their mom is getting transfers, because T1 wasn’t overpopulated enough as it is. Don’t people ever move to bottom tiers? Wouldn’t that make more sense instead of bandwagoning up to T1?

So let’s compare the 3 EU guilds that has made a huge impact in NA T1 (this is my perspective as a BG asian player that stays up very late in wvw):

HB (less than 30) – came to BlackGate with their turtle strat meta, pvDoors their way carrying BG to T1 (SBIvJQvBG). Evolved into a NA EST – PST timezone for actual competetion aka fighting organize guilds.
RG (less than 30) – came to JadeQuarry for a week to skirmish, may have change how NA open fields zvz, could have stayed in JQ to farm kills much easier lol.
IRON (more than 30) – perhaps the largest EU force to date in T1 SoR, dpending on which timezone they choose to play, I hope they find the competetion they are looking for.

Now while we can all agree that to “spy” is bad….be it someone in TS from the other side or someone playing on another side and telling chat commands and troop movements. But last night I saw firsthand spying taken to a whole new low I had not seen before.

Around 2am cst, I was in Durios tower in EB….myself on an arrow cart, another player on treb hitting SM and one empty AC. Suddenly a char character comes into the keep….comes up to the second floor and stands right next to my AC….never moves again….then a treb from SM (owned by BG at the time) starts hitting the courtyard and within 3 shots, hones in on our treb taking it out. Without missing a beat, the treb attacking adjusts fire and swings perfectly to take out our AC on the far side (which can NOT be seen outside the tower)….2 hits and gone. Finally, it swings all the way across the tower to the wall I was on adjusting fire only once and hits my AC perfectly. Again….2 hits gone. …..all siege gone….the char standing next to me disappears/logs….then not 15 seconds later, BG storms the tower and takes it down.

Fair play? I think not. Come on guys!….keep it classy! =)

BG’s treb crews are so stupid they don’t know how to treb a tower, and if they do successfully destroy your sieges, it must be the work of a spy!!!!

you probably don’t have any experience of trebbing Durios from SMC. A good experienced trebber sometimes doesn’t need a spotter at all, if he/she knows the possible location of the siege (it can be predicted if the trebber knows the environment well enough), firing angle, and the power required.

It is possible that the BG treb crew intended to destroy the wall, but hit your sieges accidently when he was adjusting the angle and power. It’s the first rule of trebbing, if you see the number, you keep hitting it until you stop seeing it.

Besides, if you know the best location to place your sieges, BG probably knows it too, they have been blue for a long time.

There is no competition during EU prime, it is all PvDoor and pug stomping. Guilds who want good fights will be bored in a couple weeks. Guilds who like to PvDoor will enjoy it.

lol this post shows that you have no idea about trebbing

1) All the trebber need to know is a rough location, treb can hit large area and multiple targets at once. And you are not the only one who knows the best spot for placing sieges, your enemies can.

2) Don’t see the problem, if the trebber stop seeing the numbers, it means the siege is gone. and yes you can infer the type of target you are hitting with by comparing the damage being dealt.

All i see is someone is mad that his precious siege got destroyed by an experienced trebber.

u must be new to sor or u never stay up late. i was on sor so covering a fact with lies and act like it is never there does not work here. Guess sor has enough complaint of bg/jq pvdoor and now u all get a chance to shut up. i am pleased. dont care if u pvdoor, we cant demand our opponent to wake up and fight. so really, just shut up and fight.
