Why? I like the Q and A thing. If people want an updated score picture, they don’t have to search the thread to find it but rather look at the top. Instead of making new threads every week with the same servers, why not just stick to one. It makes sense.

He is a forum warrior, I wanted to verify what was behind it. Some people troll because they are good and they want some rivality, and some because they think they are good and they want everybody to know it.

Yet Archer is a weird case because he troll even in non-matchup related thread. So I’m not sure what he is about. Not that I really care, but I’m getting bored of WvW so I might as well find something different to do.

But since he is a mesmer, I’ll prolly not know for sure what it is all about. My build is pretty kitten again mesmer, as my damage got cut by 50% last patch, and I lack the range damage to keep up with the low CD escape mecanism of mesmer.

My skill as player does not reflect the skill of anyone else in the guild or AR. I am still learning the game and experimenting with builds/gear so its not hard to kill me. At that time I was super squish which you said so yourself.

I will say you have some skill as a thief though after watching you fight those AR and that BP guy. The BP guy in particular was fun to watch.

Don’t let Cookie’s forum kitten-slinging fool you, he is indeed quite good. As are many of the “fight mongers” in the [GF] 1v1 community. On the rare occasions I find him and hang about for a bit, I generally won’t even join him in a small scale fray. Unless one, he asks or we’re after something specific and have larger goals in mind. Second, the enemy numbers against him are more than 4 (personally seen him handle 4 at once a time or two). Or his health drops below half. Fully content to hang back and let Cookie play.

I believe it is in Anvil Rock and Borlis Pass’s best interest to break the alliance.

Here is why:

WvW casuals will have a better time in WvW. Sometimes, it is fun to fight challenging fights. But when adversary are way over the top too powerful, WvW becomes less fun. Casuals will less and less play WvW and play PvE more.

Anvil Rock and Borlis Pass are both good match together. However, neither are good matches against Ehmry Bay even combined.

Every small victory against Ehmry Bay comes with a terrible price. Usually with Ehmry Bay dismantling both Borderlands to pieces. This will devastate the WvW casual and cause them to rage quit.

tl;dr: You guys will have more fun and loot if you guys fight each other instead of being steamrolled to death by Ehmry Bay.

You guys will even have more fun if you transfer to Ehmry Bay.

I won’t say Cookie is bad, I’ve watched him fight and troll quite a few enemies at once. But he’d never be able to do that on something other than a mesmer or a stealth spam thief.

For all his trolling he is a good player, but the mesmer class is also kinda silly good when used right. He uses it pretty well.

Me and Archer/Cookies might disagree on some things and I might even call him out on his forum trolling or some such, but here we agree completely. Regardless of his trollish nature though when it comes time to fight for Ebay I will fight side by side with him just like I did this morning outside of Bay.

Sadly the character I was on was nowhere near as durable as your Mesmer build so I had to content myself with covering you with the mortar for a good while Cookies, jumping down only a few times when you had support (after suiciding many times to deal alot of damage to the treb.)

I personally hate that Mesmer’s are pigeon-holed into portaling and how important portals are to WvW as a whole. It’s a single utility skill that is quite literally game changing for WvW. The same way swirling winds used to be.

On one side I feel It’s a nice tactic for open field. On the other I feel like it’s way too good when bypassing walls and the counter is to spend 10 minutes sweeping to make sure you didn’t miss them if they were smart enough to bring a mesmer team instead of just a solo mesmer.

I think it also limits what they can do with golems.

At that point one of your members joined an Ebay member and said “just take it, we give up”, which we then proceeded to say “at least defend it”. You won’t believe how hard we laughed when we heard that you guys just “gave up”. We built two guild catas, since we don’t normally carry siege.

I personally hate that Mesmer’s are pigeon-holed into portaling and how important portals are to WvW as a whole. It’s a single utility skill that is quite literally game changing for WvW. The same way swirling winds used to be.

On one side I feel It’s a nice tactic for open field. On the other I feel like it’s way too good when bypassing walls and the counter is to spend 10 minutes sweeping to make sure you didn’t miss them if they were smart enough to bring a mesmer team instead of just a solo mesmer.

I think it also limits what they can do with golems.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, using skills in a unique way, i.e portaling behind keep walls and using portals to make golems move faster makes WvW infinitely more interesting than it would be without it. It adds a layer of stealth and tactics beyond “bring a zerg, set up 50 rams, make 25 golems, and throw down one arrow cart to cover you” to take a tower.

Do I care that people don’t like sweeping towers and keeps to make sure we’re not inside? Absolutely not. It’s not my job to make the game fun for you. Don’t want to lose a newly captured keep? Sweep it. Don’t like sweeping newly captured keeps? Lose it, or hope we’re not inside.

If anything, they never should have changed swirling winds. Certain classes should have skills that are useful to WvW beyond PvDooring down gates. Stealth and portals are two great examples.

TL;DR: Quit kittening about portals inside enemy bases, skills useful to WvW outside DPS are a good thing, and quit white knighting for AR/BP.

According to my maths that’s about 20. At the same time we counted you and there was about 18 or so (the thieves made it harder). There were groups from GF, FTF, pk, a guy from ASG who was a pretty good hit and run warrior plus 1 or two others. You also had the vets, which while not a real threat are still annoying and the cannons, which killed me once. Though our stealth trap killed you once too.

Honestly, you guys fought well and it was a lot of fun which is what we said to you before we left. We got to practice a few things and we have it recorded so that we can review and improve. “This fight is being recorded for training purposes.”

If I wanted to prove how great I am I would post the pic of me 1v5ing 2 BL warriors, 1 TFH guard, 1 TFH ele and a random, stomping two and escaping safely. But I didn’t.

I believe it is in Anvil Rock and Borlis Pass’s best interest to break the alliance.

Here is why:

WvW casuals will have a better time in WvW. Sometimes, it is fun to fight challenging fights. But when adversary are way over the top too powerful, WvW becomes less fun. Casuals will less and less play WvW and play PvE more.

Anvil Rock and Borlis Pass are both good match together. However, neither are good matches against Ehmry Bay even combined.

Every small victory against Ehmry Bay comes with a terrible price. Usually with Ehmry Bay dismantling both Borderlands to pieces. This will devastate the WvW casual and cause them to rage quit.

tl;dr: You guys will have more fun and loot if you guys fight each other instead of being steamrolled to death by Ehmry Bay.

You guys will even have more fun if you transfer to Ehmry Bay.

We had A LOT of fun last reset night doing the opposite of getting steam rolled by Ehmry. The lesson for this week should not be, “EBay won, so the alliance didn’t work”, but rather “The alliance worked when it was in full force, we have to keep it up all week (and not all go play in Southsun Cove)”

Not that my opinion counts for anything, this alliance has me somewhat undecided as to how I see it. I think we can all agree that EBay felt challenged by it over the weekend , which is really good for us, and we got our kitten together because of it…. No more half assing reset weekend especially

On the other hand, the outcome was basically the same in the end. We lost nothing and gained nothing, you two swapped places as is tradition, and the scores reflect past weeks almost to a letter. If it gains nothing, and as many AR have say that they don’t play for score or rank and that they dislike our overwhelming numbered zergball, then they are sacrificing the opportunity to fight a more evenly numbered enemy for no gain.

In the end, i guess it doesn’t really make a difference to us what you do. Either way, can you guys at least kind of do a repeat of last Saturday before going your separate ways? Was really fun playing defense like that.
