Leave your queue blob for a second and maybe you will get some combat that isn’t from behind walls and siege. I’ve seen all of like 10 groups that are away from the huge blob known as the zombie hoard in the last 4 times we have faced SBi.

I still believe coverage is king. All that happened here is that the fairweathers stopping playing on sunday/monday because they suck. Then it is a lack of coverage. It’s just honestly disgusting how many fairweathers there are on SBI. I know for a fact when i was coming on around 3est for the past week that YB was fielding multiple zergs. More power to you guys, and I’m not trying to take away from what you did because I think your keep/tower defense was stellar. Good work.

Stop forgetting that YB had to fight a 2v1 against SBI at the beginning of the season 1 against IoJ and SBI. IoJ for the most part only targeted us.

The 2 differences with now and then are:

1. You didn’t plan it
2. It was 1st and 3rd targeting 2nd. At the beginning of this week, EB had 2nd place, so it was 1st and 2nd targeting 3rd. Although to be fair, you were seen as the toughest server in this match-up

As a fellow Yaks Bender please disregard what this guy is saying. Without Ebay or another similar server being the 3rd in this matchup we would have gotten rolled like we have the last 3 times we have faced SBi. We just don’t have the coverage to face the zombie hoard 1v1, but it shows with help to take some attention away from us we can and will do a lot better.

Why even have rule Anet if no one is going to enforce them?

This doesn’t apply to the 2v1 aspect of WvW. Quote from Mike Ferguson’s developers blog back in February 2012 describing the reason 3 servers would be included in the match, instead of a straight 1v1:

We knew right away that we wanted three teams fighting against one another on a series of huge maps in the Mists (our world vs. world battleground) and that each team would be composed of an entire server full of players. Including three forces in world vs. world acts as an excellent balancing factor, preventing one team from growing too powerful and ruining the competitive balance of the game. Two teams can gang up to counter a more dominant third team, a dynamic that simply isn’t possible with only two opposing factions.

So, to all SBI that are complaining that this is unfair, underhanded, poor sportsmanship, against the rules, or otherwise cheating: We are playing WvW exactly as designed, intended and desired by those who created it.

This is an intriguing concept. The original idea behind WvW was that this would happen of its own accord, but I haven’t seen that in practice. I think it could be much more of a part of the game if there were a way to do this. Would it make more sense to provide increased score from this or to increase the individual rewards? I would lean slightly towards the latter. I also wonder if it would work to be really heavy handed about it and actually put the two losing servers on the same team. Of course, that presents numerous problems including score tracking at that juncture. But I would think we can find some sort of system that encourages servers to work together to defeat a bigger server.

As much as SBI is bellyaching about the totally logical odds against them this week, I don’t think winning this week was impossible.

But it would have involved very specific and targeted attacks out of gate, to break either YB or EB, and force them back into eating off each other.

Morale is the most underrated aspect in WvW, and often because the populations are simply too big to manipulate it. But any match that you can win morale wise by the middle of the week, gives huge advantages to the remaining days, once you get the fair weathers to go back to PVE.

Even worst case scenario, SBI couldn’t hold 1st, 2nd should have remained easy to retain if they could have kept up morale better on their fair-weathers.

Even giving up their own BL, where they faced big odds, to say sit on EB with all their people likely would have worked better. Then if YB came to fight them there, it would still be eating EBs points.

If the person is in a notable guild, and values that membership shouldn’t be hard to get them to stop. In the case its a total lone gun, then you really can’t, but that seems far fetched that some total loner is going to care enough to spend hours on another server doing sabotage, esp if he can’t brag and broadcast his efforts back to someone.

SBI saboteurs persisted over many nights this week, including the first instance of blatant siege abuse. Just last night we had one who posted himself doing it. He was draining supply right there in front of us. The YB people who were there at that one few hour stint, on one night, as a response. But the forum QQ is strong with SBI (SBI has opened no fewer than 4 external threads about this 2v1 thing), so you hear about the YB guys more.

The difference is, we also targeted IoJ. There were no choices to make, if it was red, it was dead. IoJ had its own decision on who to target, and they chose you. Quite different.

Anywho, I remember the SoR/SBI/SoS matchup. SoR decided to make SBI beat SoS, and was even in our TS coordinating it. And all I remember is how kitten ed SBI was that it was happening, and it caused a lot of grief with some guilds and the rest of the server for participating in that.

P.S. 2v1 is not match manipulation. Allowing and helping another server take and hold objectives to allow a server a victory, IS a match manipulation. Justify it by technicalities, but SBI has no interest in stuff like that, and probably never will. I wish Anet came down kitten the griefers, I really do. They honestly need to take a tougher stand, and permaban anyone who attempts it.

But in the actual world, where our keeps had 0 supply, and no one wanted to build any golems, since they were all being walked off cliffs, the person in your screen shots, was simply balancing things out again. You had a huge advantage until it was done back to you.

And it doesn’t matter whether the troll represented SBI or not, the damage was done on YB’s side of things, so it HAD to be done to SBI’s side of things, to keep the match even.

If you wanted to avoid tit for tat, you should have immediately offered reparations.

So you can excuse us, if we don’t start a witch hunt against the people who put the match back on an even keel.

lets be honest, at first it wasn’t a 2v1 at all…. YB just took the lead with every world been que’d for 3 days… we attacked both EB and SBI…
later however we found out that it is in our best interest help EB. which would increase our odds of getting second….

I think we should all be able to agree cheating is bad.

And that no one should want unfair advantage because someone is cheating in their favor with no consequence.

no body asked them to do it…. we kicked them out of guild for doing so……..

Another defender of someone cheating. We shouldn’t have to keep people in spawn to kill someone cheating. It shouldn’t have happened.

Everything else aside, defending cheaters is a low for anyone.

Maybe the person who originally griefed on YB saw a YB spy on SBI TS or whatnot. By YB logic, he was perfectly justified in evening the score.

Cheating is low, and YB had the opportunity to take the high ground, but they didn’t. Respect for everyone is dropping a lot.

Maybe you need to stop building trebs in your citadel…you know that glitchy area? Or we will send our clean up crews up there to stop you from building them.
