Bestiary Book
Been done in other games with positive results. Wouldn’t hurt to have this feature.
I’d agree to that!
I know in most single-player RPGs that have a bestiary, I’d like to fill it up as much as I can. It’s always neat to see what kind of interesting trivia these monsters have. I remember going through the bestiary in Final Fantasy games and just absorbing the silly trivia that comes with it, especially in XIII-2 which was a requirement for me to get my Platinum Trophy.
Building on this idea, ArenaNet should bring back the collection books from GW1. One of those books could be just to collect data on monsters amongst other things. Once the book has a sufficient amount of information, they can be turned in for XP, Karma, Coin, and a sizable stash for level-appropriate crafting materials.
I am Fleeting Flash, in-game dungeon cosplayer of Reddit Refugees [RR] .
In my opinion, one of the game with the most interesting “information” books, is Star Ocean – Till the End of Time.
Any terms, story, creatures, items you interact with are unlocked so you can later go check them out at your leisure.
I completely support this idea. Every enemy could have a spot of what type they are (in relation to potions crafted from Artificers) with a short list of general drops and maybe even some flavor text. (Why? Because I love flavor text)
Another neat idea from the Bestiary book would be a monster kill counter for each monster.
Just another something for fun. :P
You kinda already have a kill counter in your achievement list. But I agree that a book would be neat. It’d be handy if it listed the abilities of the monsters, since sometimes during combat I don’t read the white text that’s under their names.

I know we kind of have it in the achievement list, but it’d be nice to have a specific counter for that specific enemy.

At 1000 it stops counting.. ..
Yeah! It’d be neat. It’d give a reason to return to lower level area. In addition, I’d add the abilities of the monsters in the book. In the heat of the battle, some abilities are unclear. And returning in a dungeon after a while, it’s hard to remember what every bosses do.

Exactly, so not only would it be fun, but it could also help players prepare for battles and figure out how they work.
ALL games should have this, but very few bother to do it lately.
The depressing thing about this suggestion is that from suggesting → developing → releasing would be a process of….a long time. Even if they did like the idea by the time it came around we’d be tired of killing those enemies.

aw, so sad…
But we can always hope for a fast but high quality release, right?
Wow. Finally a suggestion that isn’t just straight up kitten claps hands
Wish we could get more views on this thing, lol…
Combine this with a lore book that can be viewed similar to a journal and we have a winner.
