I’m no role player, but when my friends and I all go and put on the diving goggles, It would be better if we didnt all have matching underwear.

Also add the option to dye air accessories.

Your ‘toon’ was made to wear clothing and armor. The underwear is the only tasteful way to censor your bits. There is no need to change it’s color.

I can understand the thought of you Zeivu, but I agree with Bloodlust. When we put on the googles, we also lose our normal clothes and are standing there in our underwear. So I for one, would love to be able to dye them.

I’d prefer a way to dye my shield.

Dyed undergarments, or we can all just go skinny dipping, id like that option too lol

At the other side of the character in the dye mode of the equipment panel, head, torso and legs should get dye squares, to change the colors of the head piece (if the head piece has colors) torso and pants underwear.

i agree, undergarments should be dyeable… it makes no sense to be limited to a preset color

(also it would be great if there was a cash shop item to like… go back into character creation)

Admittedly, I thought it a little strange that we couldn’t change undergarment color with at least the default palette. But I shrugged and said to myself, ‘oh well. It’s not like anyone’s going to see it…’

I would hope this is never implemented. For every player choosing a more fashionable look there would be hundreds trying to dye their underwear as close to skin tone as possible so they can pretend to be nude. No thanks.

That’s why you just add a few default options at the outset and call it done.

That still doesn’t change the fact that you have never done a dive, where you put on diver goggles and it strips your character naked. This is also an issue with hair accessories. We should be allowed to dye these things with the dyes we have unlocked.

kitten yeh!! I want dyable underwear!! Also different underwear styles while we are at it….Asura have awesome boxers…Norn and human have freakin skin tight boxers…I want Comfy boxers on my Norn….not “constricting” boxers!! Why go into battle all “tight”….“sweating” and uncomfortable?

Well, there’s already a bug in game that allows characters to go full on barbie doll nude.

I highly doubt this is as big an issue as you’re making it out to be. Coloring underwear doesn’t even show up on the ESRB’s radar.

Anet will probably just sell underwear for 800 gems.

I highly doubt this is as big an issue as you’re making it out to be. Coloring underwear doesn’t even show up on the ESRB’s radar.

It’s been a concern before with other games of the same rating, so I’m allowing for the very real possibility that it’ll be a consideration on this one. And a bug isn’t the same as WAI.

Giving players options to customize and make something their own, while taking nothing away from others is a no-brainer to me.

Underwear, hair pieces, shields, weapons, spell effects, pets whatever.. if Arenanet can make these things customizable, then I’m all for it. The more options the better.

I would also like to dye my underwear to match my clothing. Even if it’s not in every color.

- Undergarments should be dyeable with every color in the game just like armor.
- Accessories should be able to be dyed in the same manner.

Simply put.

The last thing we need is to make underwear “pretty” so that more players run around/dance at banks/etc. just to be idiots. Underwear should be as ugly as possible. :p

They can disable emotes near bank and trading post vendors.

I would like to suggest that we don’t just DYE the underwear, but instead pick up ‘prints/patterns’! For example, men can either get the sexy sexy embroidered boxerbriefs paragons had or red hearts on white!

Edit: oh, I’d also like to be able to dye hearwears like bandanas, simply because my Asura’s red headband kind of clashes with his blue colorscheme.

Why not, it wouldn’t harm anything in the game nor would it “remove” anything from it. All the development team have to do is… well make those parts dye-able. I’m sure that if they wanted to they could do it, the question is do they want to? Hehe, time will tell.

It’s pretty boring that we all wear the same thing and it doesn’t match outfits.

They dye channels are already there if you look at the charr male underwear, so it’s just a matter of letting us pick and choose. While we’re at it, I’d also like to see aqua breathers be something we can dye.

don’t care about the underwear thing. but… would love it if i could dye my accessory so that i wasn’t basically stuck having to have a forever-purple-theme for my armour. (since my hair ribbons are purple and the colour is stuck forever)

Great ideia! i have a norn with a band on his hair ( or whatever that is, you know, the norn hair with a circlet ) and i would love to DYE it, besides its such a minor and easy thing to add, theres no real reason not to.

I highly support the idea of dye for under garments, and the option to equip other sets of undergarments.

The hair band seriously needs a dye ability…. the lack of this aggravates me!

The more variety the better … if it can be done, why not do it? Dye everything! I think there’s the potential for a ton of different outfits, styles, etc. There could be dye shops and/or clothing shops in all the major cities, just like the armorsmiths and weaponsmiths. And if ANet is concerned about the $, I’m sure enough folks would be willing to buy skins off the gem store if they could get a Dapper Tuxedo or the Riament of the Lich, the Vale Wraith, the Lunatic Court Finery, etc. …

I can’t speak for the other races, but on my Norn, there is even two separate dye spots; the underwear itself, and the belt. Given that the work has been done, odds are it’s either an upcoming option, or it WAS going to happen and was then removed for some reason, but they forgot to remove it from the preview menu

Indeed.

That makes up to 4 things:
- Breather.
- Lower underwear.
- Upper underwear if present.
- Hair ornament if present.

All of those should by dyable dynamically like any other piece of equipment.

Oh, and weapons too.

iirc this was actually in the game in one of the early betas. Maybe my memory is fuzzy, but I swear I remember dying my undergarments. (and lamenting not having black dye)

More than likely it was removed due to people trying to make it look like they weren’t wearing anything at all. Even though even a cursory look would prove otherwise.

That doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be an option.

Early on in SWG, there was a bodysuit that had a solid color, and people were using it to (sort of) look like they were in the buff. In that situation, the devs changed the texture so there was always a pattern of darker lines on the outfit in order to prevent people from appearing nude, even at a glance.

Having patterned/higher-texture underwear or color-shifting the tones away from any available skintones should resolve the “problem” and allow for dyeable undergarments.

Nonetheless, it’s not a huge issue for me. I file it under the “would be nice” category, but it doesn’t bother me too much that my friends and I all have matching underwear when we go diving. Who’s to say we don’t enjoy color coordinating?

i hope the do make underware dyeable i realy hate the human females yellow underware. also would be great to have diferent tipes of underware coss diving in those things make her look bad i mean they look like old woman undies lol. mabe a bikini or a speedo swimsuit in item mall that you buy and change the original underware.

I agree with this and would say it would also be funky to see proper swimwear. Walking along the beach in Southsun with my shades and bhamuda (spelt totally wrong I suspect) shorts. Bright lime green shorts ofc!

That is why I went searching for this type of thread! I was able to preview WHITE underwear! OMGSOMUCHBETTERTHANYELLOW kitty.

Anet, I wish you respond to this, all you need to do is slip it in with the next patch, so so so many people would be thrilled! If not now, when summer comes around you should release a Summer Bash! Where we get all kinds of swim suits and water emotes or something! I know you guys are probably thinking about it, cause in November when you released Southsun Cove you slipped in dozens of every race at a beach all wearing various swimming gear and ALL DYED DIFFERENT COLORS. Even the Asura have cool little swim suits. If this wasn’t a teaser I don’t know what is… Anyone reading this go and check it out! at [Pride Point Waypoint].
