I’m of the opinion that the current cycle feels way too short. You can barely manage to get one event done during night and since there are quite a few night specific events I’m hoping that the cycle would be extended to twice the current duration.

If I remember correctly it was stated that the cycle is currently 2 hours with 40 minutes of night and 80 minutes of day so with this new cycle it would be an acceptable 80 minuts and 160 minutes.

So I suggest a 3 hour cycle instead of 2.
First thought is 60 night and 120 day.
But maybe it should be 80 night and 100 day.

80 night 100 day seems more reasonable. there is no issue with night people. Not when you practically auto target what is infront of you and tab targetting/mousing over things infront of you highlights everything anyway.

another thing that would be nice is if there was a universal day/night cycle, rather than having it per-zone.if it’s night in lion’s arch, then it should be night on the gendarran fields too.

I remember them making the argument that if they had any “longer” cycles some people who don’t play all that much won’t be seeing all the content. This is true, but if they made the cycle uneven as in 3 or 5 hours if you log on at the “same” time everyday you’d see a different time in game.

My vote of course goes to 5 hours or even longer. I love night time. So many interesting events kick off at night time.

found out by accident. spent at least a week without ever seeing night time, so i asked on the forums what was going on.

then someone told me the cycle is per-zone >.>

I think night should be more obvious. It is quite easy to walk around DR and not even notice that it is night without looking up at the sky. It should be dark. I should need a lantern. I should fear being eaten by a grue

I would like to see a longer day/night cycle, as well, with it being universal across Tyria like Bruno mentioned. I would also like to see a much longer, more gradual period of twilight lighting during the dawn/dusk transition period in between…it’s lame to have it go from looking like it’s noon to a starry-sky in a couple seconds.
