Or at least armor without all the frills like the magic users have. I prefer sleek, understated armor, form fitting. I hate clunky boots.

In the release video, I believe that was the one, there is a female Thief with simple armor. I loved it and decided to make a Thief. But my Thief’s armor is ugly.

I suggest simpler, more feminine armor, as a choice for the female classes, even the more warrior types. There is far too much added parts to armor. And I don’t like frills, cutsey parts added that some people consider attractive. On the one hand, I don’t want to look like a hooker, but I do like more skin showing. I don’t like high heels, but do like sleek boots.

It exists out there. You just have to put the time into finding it and matching it all up.

Heavy armor will never be “sleek” as this is not sci-fi. Heavy armor is plates and steel chain linked shirts. It will always be bulky and should look bulky as you are wearing roughly 50-60 lbs of metal.
Both light and medium armor has sleek styles, you just have to find it…usually by picking and choosing skins from various armor sets. Use the PvP locker int he mists to preview nigh every armor set in the game and not what they are called, then look for them in like-minded locations.

I don’t PvP, but I will try WvW when enough of my guild gets into it. My main character is level 80, a Ranger. I’ve never had clothing I liked. In my opinion, most of it is not attractive. I’ve seen leather clothing, Ranger armor, that looks sleek, form fitting, in other games. The Thief wears leather. How about that black outfit the Thief in the video wears? I’ve seen a couple players wearing it, too. I feel very very left out.

As for heavy armor, it doesn’t have to look bulky. Whatever gave you that idea? The funny thing is, in most Asian games, I’m the one complaining about the skimpy armor, and wondering how it could possible protect a character. But here, I’m not asking for skimpy. There has to be something in between.

Right now, my Ranger is wearing a full pirate’s outfit. I have it only because of the stats. And I look way overdressed, and with bulky boots. Both Ranger and Thief wear medium armor, meaning mainly leather. It doesn’t have to be bulky. Remember the video female Thief? C’mon guys.

Don’t make GW2 a second Erotera Online.

Alot of players seem to have the wrong notion of what armor is for.
It’s not meant to adorn – it’s meant to protect.

Comparing to what real armor looks like, Guild Wars 2 has a very appealing alternative.

That said, everyone wants more variety for all types of armor, and I agree it would be nice to have a thief’ish armor style for Rangers, since thieves have ranger’ish armor too.

This is the Thief armor I was referring to. It’s medium armor and looks like something I want, and can’t get as a Ranger. Unless it’s available in PvP, which I don’t do, and probably couldn’t afford anyway.

Feminine may be an oxymoron, agreed, but this is a game. In games we do things a bit differently than real life; it all boils down to fun. Not much in gaming is realistic.

rng in this game is very similiar to rng in aion.getting lucky with legendary precursor is the same as getting 3+ procs to craft eternal weapon.only 1% will be able to craft the weapon with highest base stats while the other 99% will end up with the 2nd best weapon.the only difference is that the rng in this game is a lot worse

Why can’t you get it as a ranger? I think it’s available in different sets:

(main: http://carsen.dreamhosters.com/game/gw2/)

And if the stats are wrong, transmute it.

Based on what you’re looking for you’ll have to mix and match between the sets.

I’ll disagree that the heavy armour is at all bulky though. Most seems fairly form fitting. Unless your dislike is with the skirts, then I guess you’ll have fewer options.

I’m expecting they’ll release more styles eventually, as they did with the first game but I have seen people combine the current sets in interesting ways. I’d check out the profession forums as they usually have a thread of “post a picture of your X” which may give you ideas.

My request and idea for Anet is simple. We want (I guess not only me) more medium armor “feminime” variants for females characters. I mean something like an Duelist or T3 human style. I love jackets, but not on thief character. I think this is great for rangers and engineers, but not for thiefs…
Some examples from GW1

Thank god that is not true.
Arena net is Partner to NCsoft, they have to work with them, but thankfully they do not have to do everything NCsoft says.

Otherwise the no subscription and free content updates would have been out the door faster than you can say ‘performing below expected revenue’.

I would take subscription-based any day. At least that was a decent way to motivate developers to respond to community. Also, I don`t know what exactly they are partnering in, but as a long-term L2 player I see a lot of similarities between Anet and NCSoft.

If you look at Fiona from Vinditcus, which is basically a Guardian to here, she looks a lot better Armour wise but personally, I dislike most of the armor in this game anyway.

Actually this IS true: ArenaNet is wholly owned by NcSoft.

Yet there is a difference between “a korean company” and “a company owned by Koreans”.

GW2 is not a “korean game”. It is a western game created by a company owned by Koreans. Subtle, but different.

There is never “too many parts”, especially on heavy armor. It’s supposed to protect and look cool, just like the male armor. You have such armors for medium and light, but to ask revealing for heavy? This isn’t an asian game…

This is a asian MMO. We should have more revealing armor!

Many armors here are fantastic, so I’d say it’s not that there are no nice medium armors, maybe just no easily accessible nice medium armors.

Thieves and Rangers can have the same armor, they’re both medium armor as far as I know.

I looked at the armor at the sites above. Where do you get it? I tried the Trading post, no armor there with those names, at least as a price I can afford. I’m level 80 and have about 50 silver. I’m wearing level 79 armor, and my bows are level 78. How the heck do you make the kind of money necessary to get all that high level stuff? I’m at the point of considering a gold farmer. That’s how frustrated I am.

I bought lower level armor, same green color, to try transmutation. I tried both base and fine stones. I couldn’t transmute. What could I be doing wrong?

I’m of another mind on the heavy armor. Maybe a bit sleeker, yes, but it still needs some stopping power against incoming damage. Heck, in an ideal world there wouldn’t be shaped chest cups, just a larger swell of the chest armor. I don’t particularly like giving a blade a guided path into my sternum, I want it deflected away. Same with shoulder armor, some of the raised pieces say “this way to the neck!”

However, I concede the fantasy aesthetic that says it’s more important to show gender than to provide perfect protection. I think ANet’s done a pretty good job of balancing those needs. Just yesterday I found the karma vendors in Bloodtide selling Lion-guard style plate and I think I’ve finally found the look for my warrior. Full coverage while obviously female without sacrificing realism — sold!

That is completely backwards. Subscription based makes more sense to delay content because you will be making money no matter what. As long as you can keep telling your subscribers what they want to hear they’ll keep paying you for doing nothing. If it was subscription based and you didn’t also have to buy the game, then maybe, but that is never the case. B2P games like this encourage the developers to roll out content because once you buy the game they aren’t making money anymore unless they can get you to buy the expansion packs or purchase from the cash shop (if there is one, which in this case there is, although it’s only vanity items).
