Game Improvement - Suggestions
Here goes, On the friends list and guild roster, how about adding a note line? Right click on the name and add note. It would help remembering things about people.
LFD automatic tool would enhance dungeon experience.
Every map that has a dungeon is flooded with spam with LFM LF1M ect with a LFD finder it would be better for the game imo.
By the time most ppl have found a party they could have been inside and almost done with the dungeon, if you have limited time to play geting a party for a dungeon just takes up to much time.
Even GW1 had an automatic group finder join RA/JQ/FA the game selects a team for you and your enemy puts you in a map and you play simple.
Only ppl against a LFD are elites who can run a dungeon when they want to and dont care for tools to help casuals.
I also hear others dont want a LFD because it would ruin the community why would it ruin it when you would be playing with more ppl more often in a party situation ?
Dont say about the lfg website its a 3rd party site.
Final thoughts on how YOU want to play would u rather
A) Have to go to a map u like/dislike to stand and spam LFM
B ) Go to your fav map farm/do events and wait for the game to find you a party and place you inside your random/selected dungeon.
With the popularity of the Unbreakable choir bell, would there be a way to add music or war marches to world vs world. Adding some sort of buffs for warhorns or drums…something like that.
Could really add to the atmosphere. Just an idea.
Iguess is over suggested already but still.
MOUNTS!!! less waypoints and the add of mounts that would be awsome. Waipoints are fine, especially for traveling from one zone to another. But walking over and over again gets annoying really.
Another thing I would like to see… in map – the full description for all the zones I explored. I mean when i move from one zone to another, map shows only the POIs(like merchants and other stuff) for that zone instead of showing the same things for all the other zones you have already been through. This could be useful especially when chattin with a friend about getting something. e.g. – “where did you get that from” / “let me remember (spoof map on) oh… is the repair merchant in Queensdale in front of the Divinity’s Reach before the bridge to Shaemoor Fields”… now i guess isn’t the best example but there are many times i get asked by new players what to do and where and being in totaly other zone it would help alot to actually see everything on the map i’ve already explored…
Just a thought (or maybe two)… pls don’t throw your rotten tomatoes at me!
(edited by ciolansteen.9751)
I had i few ideas for mounts. only get mounts after 100% map completion? i mean, you do get that awesome star and “been there done that” title and the required item for a legendary.. what if you got an “egg” or something that you had to raise yourself too. chance of becoming a random mount-like a moa.. I mean after exploring that whole map i think i might find an egg of a moa and decide to raise it.. lol. Wouldnt care if mounts were purely cosmetic or if they gave you 100% speed increase.. The broom stick for the witch is awesome! Mini’s are awesome too.
No combat on mounts… no WVW or PVP… purely a cosmetic fun thing to do after doing everything else. I know for sure i would actually be super motivated to get my map completion done if i could get a mount from it.. like a super fluffy giant kitty to ride on
I dunno if i was referred here for over discussed topics or what.. so just say what i think anyway
So i play a ranger and i love the class and i love my job but i have the problem with being a little squishy and i enjoy taking the high ground and doing my damage from afar but i have ran into the problem of being on higher ground and i cant hit anyone because they are to far away so i thought of a amazing idea?
:Give all classes with range weapons 50%-100% Increased range weapon distance when on higher ground or on castle walls or on top of large archways.
So this is were the game gets fun, Your trapped in a castle and you cant get out to attack all that’s left is the ranger weapons but Whats this I’m up on a high wall and i cant hit anyone because they r not in my range …..WTF.
So now i have to just watch them take the door down or abandon ship but now see this is were the game changes with this addition to the game now their is another form of deffense now say we can get on that wall and just shoot our hearts out and give it all we got now they have to back up and think again about just rushing in because the range classes can do their thing and give range support.
This also brings some realistic property’s to the game everyone knows if u shoot a bow on level ground it will travel a normal distance now if i shoot a arrow off a mountain its gonna go MILES and you prob won’t find that arrow again this is were i got my idea range weapons gain distance the higher above ground you are so why doesn’t it apply as well to the game. The higher ground you take the greater the distance you can shoot range weapons. I actually have a great picture were this would apply.
So with this idea out there I really Hope you add this to the game it would apply to all classes with range weapons so no one would feel one class is being over buffed and it would bring some realistic quality’s to the game and make the castle battles way more intense.

Updating Weapon lookup/inventory images to reflect their current skins.
I can not tell you how many times I have seen a default weapon image then equipped it and though “this was actually awesome, glad i equipped it or I would have merched it”
Best examples are:
Gaze & Adam
Both focuses are a Necromancers wet dream, especially those who have played Guild Wars 1 and dreamed of using a human skull and being like Eve.
Another request is syncing the forum message system with the game message system. Would be nice to check both at both locations with out having to be on both at the same time.
2015-2016
Fort Aspenwood
Wouldn’t it be awesome to have some sort of a “hard mode”-setting for dungeons and general pve? I’m thinking something in the lines of lowering your lvl a few lvls extra, and letting this trigger the bonus loot you only get from killing higher lvl mobs.
The broadcast message option for our friend lists. I usually have 10+ people online and it would be very helpful to have one text box to enter a message so everyone could see it.
I agree with the suggestion about reducing the cost of travelling to waypoints in a complete area and also the reselling armour for karma. Another addition to the karma suggestion would be to have the option to sell any gear (or even soul/account bound gear) at karma merchants for some karma in return, maybe 50% of the copper selling price. And also an in-game lfg tab to help players find parties faster.
Karma could also be used to buy special tokens called “Asura Waypoint Token” and it would allow you to travel to one waypoint you’ve uncovered for free. Similarly, it could be traded, or re-sold for karma.
Another thing we really need is optimization. We already know this, but what kind of optimization? Besides porting to 64-bit, and just overall optimizing it for more cores, there are a few things to do:
- Vectorize the 2D Portions of the HUD/GUI. — This would allow the game engine to not require loading of textures into system memory, and rather, render them from a single file through text, or code. Vectors would also make it so that your HUD/GUI would always fit any monitor resolution.
- Make the light / luminosity of objects, etc. dependant on sources of dynamic lighting. — This is important for GPU specific optimizations. When you use light sources rather than specular highlights based on what degree the texture is facing, the object becomes more realistic. Of course, you still need some form of specular highlight. But I direct you to the vector suggestion in the previous bullet point. Speculars are just 2D wrapped on a mesh that is 3D, so this would be easily done if the 3D engine sent the dimensions of the 3D object as if it were 2D for each plane of the model, and then you could make the vectors spread out over the top of that.
- Learn from other games and engines. If you don’t know how to do proper HUD/GUI scaling with minimal performance loss, seek out help from games like Team Fortress 2 by Valve. The commentary mode in the game will help your game immensely. Similarly, code from the Unreal engine could be useful if you reverse engineer it for your engine.
- Don’t use animation for LOD switching — just use minimal animations such as fading in and out, no noise-like animation like the HUD/GUI.
Mounts would be nice too.

1. Special event countdown timer. You had that one time special event and there was confusion over when it would be. It would be nice if you put a count down timer in the orange print to make it clear to everyone when it will happen across all time zones. Then you have no confusion and time zones and daylight savings make no difference.
2. Stop trying to force us to do dungeons. When you allow heros or level the dungeons to number of players, I’ll do the dungeons. Pugs are not for me. So stop putting dungeons and fractals in monthlys.
3. Thanks for the better storage. Take it a bit further though and allow a dedicated space for secondary crafted items brilliant snowflakes and dowels and insignias.
4. Let us buy more storage in the bank than you now allow. I like to keep my stuff and have it for other toons. I’d rather buy more bank slots than another storage character.
http://ninedegreesbelow.com/photography/srgb-profile-comparison.html
as you can see the guy suggest to use Argyllcms.i did
and let me tell you the difference for user is dramatic .I don’t know if its because its more precise calculation (I think so)but the shadow are were they re supposed to be.its like going from standard to hd!if you calibrate your screen using wcs you ll be way closer then default srgb all window suggest but still less good then the one I supply ,like I say I think the only reason it is so is because the mathematic and color precision is higher on this srgb!http://www.argyllcms.com/downloadwin.html
just download this (nevermind all the file ,in there go to ref and almost at bottom you ll see the sRGB from them!install.when you go into wcs do not select :use my setting for this device!select advanced tab and go change in the default(if no other computer are related.if not sure don’t change default just change the first 2 page to sRGB IEC61966-2.1 (equivalent to www.srgb.com 1998 hp profile)
why all this problem!from what I read on the web basicly it is a black scaling error issue and lower precision mat that cause this!suffice it to say ,with this srgb profile you will probably see what you the game maker were seeing when they made the game.if you just calibrate monitor with window too ,you ll get very close result .but you wont get the mathematical precision so you ll notice the subpixel various lighting reflection get blurred!
it isn’t a biggy tho so for average user just calibrating you screen and using that calibration will do good result ,hopefully Microsoft will raise the precision to the same as this profile in the future since it is a minor issue to fix hopefully they ll fix it soon!
Downloads\Argyll_V1.4.0_win32_exe\Argyll_V1.4.0\ref\sRGB.icm
that is where the color profile should be (select srgb)for me it made a huge difference ,especially when shadow and alpha are involved!
Why not use scRGB instead?
I tried a few, and so far only Argyllcms is really fixing things!like I say maybe ms will fix black scaling and accuracy of color mathematic but so far this is the best by the way if you use this color profile don’t forget to unlock it (right click it)would be nice to see some video test cause I don’t stream ,I know it is gona be HD on the person system but I aint sure how it looks when someone stream or record with it if its even less blurry etc .everything I mentioned is only on your main screen.if any can supply link to their stream or video would be very appreciated.hopefully ms will look into this a correct so we don’t have to do this!but then they had 7 or 8 year to fix it lol so if universal time fix is any indication they should have fixed srgb/scrgb in about 3 years.anyway have fun in game .this game looks so good .I ll probably buy skyrim to see the effect of this srgb version on it(if you have eye sight issue and don’t stream I wouldn’t bother .just calibrate with wcs .it is descent.not as good but its descent!
I would love to see voice chat in game only with party/squad members. Esspecially within dungeons because it is really time consuming to type just one sentence.

Thief headgear – HOODS PLEASE!
Why as a thief can I not find a medium armor hood at any level? There are masks by the truckload, and alot of light armor hoods for casters, yet the only normal medium armor hood you can get is the one given to your character at creation if you pick the 1 of 3 choices you are given then. Honestly, if I had known that was my only chance for a “traditional” thiefly hood, I’d have chosen it then and then transmuted it all the way along! Heck, the character-creation hood is even soul-bound so that I can’t make an alt and move the hood to my 80 thief! LOL
Every other game has hoods for thieves that are easy to come by, but not GW2. Please add some or remove the soul-bound feature of the character creation medium armor hood!
You know, you could always make a new thief with that hood, level him a bit and use the fine transmutation stones on a white item to get the skin on to your other thief. It becomes account bound once you use the stone. – might require your new thief to be minimum a certain level “max 11 or 12” to find/buy a white item. I did it when I was lvl 11.
Good Luck.
what i would like to see come back from gw1 is personalization of skills, gw1 armor, guild halls, creator of guild cannot be kicked, more to explore, more class types. To me that made it more of a personal game, The guild halls would give our guild a place to do special events.
Hello every one
Thanks to every one of you for taking the time to read me. I hope everyone of you be understandable with me position and proposes.
Secondly. I have to say no one of the increase the quantity of armour, weapons, areas… types of enemies because of we have Arena Net doing this job, mostly of them are peaceful and some other have new challenges.
I have been playing gw 2 from August and I have counted the quantity of time between the last enemy I killed and the next one, it was 10 seconds after the first death, I did it around the areas of: Gendarran fields and Harati Hinterlands. and the time was from 10 seconds to 45 seconds.
I start to be tired and really bored of so many deaths, it is why I want to post my propositions to do some more things in game
Around the world:
1) To introduce the roll and title of archaeology, finding objects and exploring old ruins but without enemies and to get experience each time you do it (all of them part of the story of Tyria between Guild Wars Eye of the north and Guild Wars 2)
2) To get experience translating the letters in inns and around the map,
3) To introduce characters in dungeons which put you challenges of skill like riddles, jigsaws, and some jumping games asking you questions.
4) To put secret corridors with labyrinths and traps in dungeons with their different ways to turn the traps off and maps which need to be decrypted for the labyrinths
Cities:
I had this idea one night when I was in the Spanish district in the inn of Divity’s Reach. I entered and there were some Spanish players role-playing. One of them was playing the role of waiter and the rest of they were playing the role of customers. And I thing could be done the same with other things:
1) To introduce the option of make some theatre
2) To introduce a similar system of market values similar to Wall Street wher we could speculate and in vest with the costs of objects likematerials of crafting, weapons….

In a normal guild environment in any MMORPG. The founder of the guild can be kicked if they are not the current leader of said guild. This also happens in real life with governments, etc. So why should the game world be any different? Of course, the guild still has a little line telling you who originally founded the guild, which is good enough.
As for guild events, they should only give the currency to get guild upgrades… not EXP, not items, not gold/coins. This way, all events are geared toward the involvement of the guild, nothing else.
OK Guys listen up!!!!!!
I would like to ask that the devs think seriously about allowing Guilds to have a base of operations. This would most likely be a Castle or Fort a Lair perhaps. But it would allow us to build a place we can call home. The initial Castle (or whatever it happens to be) would come with a normal set of things to make it feel homey…but we could perhaps purcahse additional items with Gold and or Gems. Adding catapults horses archery range all the things that make a place of refuge be what it is. Even building in game transporters to various gaming maps etc. It would REALLY add some flavor to the game I would think and it would also lend itself to end game content as well. So THINK about it my dev friends and yes this is a freebe lol. C ya.
The game (awesomely) lets you type /wiki and then text to search the wiki for that item. If you type /wiki then shift-click an item, however, the wiki poops at the presence of square brackets. It would be hyperconvenient if ArenaNet could swing one of these:
- The wiki ignores square brackets in searches
- The /wiki command strips square brackets from your search before submitting it.
Just wondering the feasibility to have a new set of vending skills that allow you to do things like repair armour for folks or sell items without having to go through black lion. Just a thought.

That would defeat the purpose of ncsoft making real life money off of repair capsules.
Perhaps as we had guild halls in gw1, we could have guild airships this time round. Id love the idea of a mobile ‘town’ for guilds, would be nice for players in pve, to have an airship perhaps docked over a location or town. PvP guild battles could be airship fights, after all for gvg in guildwars1 you fought in the hall you chose, boarding actions could make for some intense platforming playervplayer ingenuity.
I don’t know if this has been mentioned but it would be cool to be able to help other players with their heart quests. I know it would create the ability for ppl to be power leveled but if the squad members contribution can only give the player 50% completion of their heart im sure that would fix that problem. and even 50% is still a big help. The reason I’m suggesting this is cause my guild specializes in helping new players and its kind of boring to sit around waiting for the members to complete their heart. This will greatly increase the need for squads so its in a way a win- win for the game.
I have been killed by invisible groups of enemies in WvW several times.

1. I would love a better LFG system than GW2LFG.com
2. Being able to talk to all guilds you are apart of would be nice. It would get people to participate in more than one guild. It should be simple to let us choose which colors each guild gets. We can keep rep on one guild. But I just don’t want to ignore other guilds by representing the guild that I’m currently playing with in the game.
3. I would jump for joy over customizable guild halls. The more customizable, the more I will lose myself into the game. I would instantly become a contractor.

“alliance” chat would be nice actually. All guilds you are allied to. For instance, when you speak to a guild you aren’t in currently, the guild receives:
Character Name [Ally]: Text
When you receive guild chat from that guild in return,
Character Name [Guild Name]: Text
This would only be accessible through a new chat tab (Only received text from the guilds to your character, the guild will still see the text via guild chat), and cannot be set on other tabs, as it would clutter too much of the chat.
Or even more complex:
/gc guildName Text
Where /gc = /guildchat

I would like to see more filters in the Trading Post. For example, I would like to filter out medium and light armors from my search when buying armor for a Warrior. Filters for stat bonuses would also be nice, such as excluding items with condition damage, power, etc.
I would also like to see where players are in WvW. It wouldn’t have to be every player but if it could just mark where there are currently teammates fighting, then it would be a lot easier to get right into playing.
Thanks for reading.
Hello. I’ve only been playing for a few weeks now have an 80 warrior and some alts. i enjoy the game very much and a lot of it has everything that was missing from other games. I had some ideas, unsure if they have been mentioned but felt like I could share.
1. Guild NPC’s
NPC’s that guild members could list items for auction just for guild members at a good price along with guild skins and specially made guild items. The cost could be in coin and the amount or some amount would be transferred to influence. ie. You buy a small guild banner item made by person A from the NPC, the money gets transferred into influence for the guild. Or something similar to this idea.
2. Seeing peoples actual levels
a. In open world PVE lands capped/actual
b. On guild roster
3. Seeing peoples classes
a. In guild roster
4. Have bonuses for Gems
a. Bonuses for larger purchases or discounts
b. Special rewards for purchasing Gems in stores (physical versions) ie. Gamestop. NCsoft has this for Aion cards.
5. Advanced Skills
I’ve noticed that as a warrior I like axe/axe and rifle. Unfortunatly, utility skills aside, the 5 skill list tends to get.. well, boring. I understand that combos can be achieved through party members skills but an update to make them more interesting would be nice.
a. Skill triggers like finishers for certain mobs, though complex could be fun. example- You either get your enemy (pve) down to say 5% and a finisher pops up, something interesting, maybe even not 100% chance so it doesn’t happen to often. Or, you could have just different finishers for different weapons/mobs. Say you get a wurm to 5% and
as an axe wielder you get “impale” as a finisher where you gut your enemy. Whether you see the guts wouldnt matter, the skill animation would be fine. Just something to mix it up a bit instead of 5 skills for ppl who lock in the 2-3 weapon sets.
6. Something more at 80 than leveling.
Now I haven’t been playing long so I’m unaware of anything that requires you to level passed 80 to achieve. What would be interesting is instead of simply opening skills which I mostly had all of at 60 (not traits), why not do something more. Say every level after 80 you get one or more of the following ideas:
a. A jug of karma
b. A point towards some sort of epic skill reached only after X amount of points. Nothing game changing, but interesting none the less.
c. A point towards a different basic skill that once unlocked could be switched like weapon swapping but for each skill in the 1-5 list. It would help give variety to the skills and more customization to classes, and more individuality.

7. Previewing armor.
a. On trade post.
b. In normal links.
8. Filters that work on TP.
a. Food filters that actually filter food types, as well as others.
8. An improved LFG system.
Most games are hampered by servers and people from different servers cannot see each other. In GW its no like that. So why not create a LFG system like other MMOS that allows for searches for members based on what they want to do and level. Granted level is less important other than the entry requirements, but the whole shouting thing is a bit out dated.
9. Solo dungeons.
I know that the story allows for instances but solo dungeons could be beneficial.
a. Solo dungeons mirrored off the group versions. Make them smaller with limited daily runs. Make the rewards decent, but more importantly make “some” of the rewards (group wide). Meaning that you do the instance, maybe run 1 solo path of a scaled solo dungeon.Get your loot RNG created of course.. but have a high probability of obtaining loot that buffs your party like consumables etc. Then when you invite said person, they have buffs that help the party in those dungeons. You could further it by making them fun! Chest drops a party pizza, you place it everyone eats and gets a 30min buff of some sort that helps everyone. Or a orb that explodes and heals group useable 10 times or simply get 10 for the solo dungeon. Nothing epic, just helpful.
10. Mounts (PVE) and I stress pve..
a. Something simple horses etc that have slight speed boost. But this could be in a big update down the road since its a big boost to mmos usually as far as player base.
11. A little more on the gem store.
a. I’m not one to say monopolize the game with hoards of $$$ items, but some more stuff would be cool. More skins, perhaps costumes. Or transform items that make you look like random game mobs, like a centaur or a zombie asura, or maybe thats just more for Halloween heh.
b. Backs, bags (specialized ones so as not to hurt the crafters), flags. Back pieces with helpful stats or even just funny back pieces visually. Bags with helpful properties. Flags/banners to put down in pve or even just for fun with guildies/friends that give buffs either stat wise or fun worthy.
12. Some basics most players want.
a. Housing guild/personal.
b. Fishing, hunting with special weapon for special item/meat.
c. Dying weapons.
13. Titles with stat bonuses.
a. Titles rewarded from story, map, etc that give small boosts to traits/stats.
Well thats all I have for now, some might be stupid but just thought I’d share. Thx ^^

My third post here:
I have noticed the trends for upcoming MMO’s tend to lean toward sandbox/themepark hybrids, and this is an extremely popular concept. I, for one, am looking forward to games such as Wildstar, ArcheAge, Dragon’s Prophet, and EQnext because I want a game that has a very strong themepark element combined with extensive sandbox features. I want to be able to explore a frontier, I want to be able to build a house using blueprints and customizing it completely to my taste, in general I want more life breathed into these games and I think GW2 has a solid foundation for those features, and the sooner they come the better it is for the game overall. We need things to do outside of the typical dungeons, leveling alts, getting gear, etc.
Suggestions I have…
- GW2 voice chat. I don’t want to download a different client. Lazy, I know, but I would like one connected with the game.
- Logged on or Logged off time for guild members and for friends.
- Dungeon queue. I don’t like wasting my time at Lion’s Arch. Why not have a queue like for WvW. I click AC dungeon and run around the world until 4 other people also want to do AC. An added bonus would be to be able to pick explorable option once you’ve done the story mode.
- No new weapons, instead allow classes to simply use the weapons they currently cannot in further updates/expansions.
- Precursor missions. I think I heard they were coming, but just want to say I think this would be awesome.
- Get rid of magic find or fix drop rates somehow. For example, allow a higher chance of rares or exotics to drop from bosses. Today I played a boss in story mode and got 2 common items. Big bosses should drop good stuff masterwork or higher. It makes the trouble of beating them feel worthwhile.
-More level 400 craftable skins.
-Guilds gain influence for holding a keep or supply depot in WvW.
- Add target to target option (good for PvP and PvE).
- I want to see HP of mobs as numbers eq mob has 1987hp/1987 and also in %.
- Option to see own name and HP bar
- Option to customize own UI
- Max camera distance is to close to character
- End game content… a lot of people get bored already after they hit max lvl. We need RAIDS with strategy and not zerking another dragon.
- Lower ques to WvWvW, idk how but this problem is at the same lvl as late loading of characters on WvWvW.
- DUELS! I dont even understand why there is no duel option!!
- Inspect players!
- Preview build of another player
These are great suggestions. I’m still surprised there are no duels and that you cannot inspect people’s gear.
I got a sugestion… Stop making everything freaking soulbound !!!! Accountbound? okay I can understand but soulbound? WTF man -.- I bought guild backpack then later made a quiver… Guild Backpack is now total waste … Also now I found out u can actually make a quiver with different stats but guess what my quiver is totally useless now if I made a new one !!! GRRR >.< I hate HATE soulbound crap in games… Reason why I left previous game. Everything I make now or get and is obviously better then what I had makes the rest so useless and total waste of time -.-
Soulbound equipment is there to make sure that hackers can’t trade your equips, it also means that to change the economy, you have to put more effort into it than to put a left-over equip you no longer use on the market that’s epic. I don’t really get account bound nowadays though, it’s better to have one binding system, not two.
Titles that give stats are a big no-no. Why? Costumes with stats are a big no-no. So, titles are too. I don’t care if you have to do a lot to earn them. Someone, always, somewhere, will not be able to earn them. This would be an unfair advantage in pvp (duels too if added) and Wv3. These are what caused Kitsu Saga from Aeria Games to die, besides the whole in-game botting system (Like Angels Online and Ether Saga Odyssey have.) The stats on the cash shop costumes / titles were insane. if you didn’t spend hundreds of dollars, you’d suck at GvG, PK, PVP, etc.
As I said earlier, if a voice chat system is implemented, I would leave the game if no disable system was implemented, even if it was only for parties, I’d want it off for me, always. I’m not going to explain why, as I don’t have to.
Inspecting players is a bit of a troublesome thing. In LaTale, most people have it off because they don’t want you seeing their build. Honestly, you should force it so that everyone can inspect others, so it would be fair to everyone. (This is how TERA handles it.)
HP Numbers / percents on mob bars is off, for good reason. You can’t tell when a monster is going to die, so you ALWAYS have to be ready for something, a surprise, doesn’t matter.
Reason why magic find exists, is so that there’s a chance not to get the items you want, so that you have to run the event / boss again (This is mainly for sociable purposes.)
One user mentioned solo dungeons, but IMMEDIATELY went and talked about parties. If you’re going to make solo dungeons, it has to be solo, not in a party. The solo dungeon would drop no equipment or items of any kind save for the quest reward (This is how Eden Eternal does solo dungeons) and you get no exp from individual mobs. (Also how they do it.)
I’m not moving on any of these opinions. I’ve had enough of people suggesting them, and I’ve experienced them too many times to listen to others. This is how it is, and you should wake up to reality of free to plays you’ve never played.

I have a few suggestions for small things bugging me during the game:
-I think magic find is a bit of a strange stat on gear, that encourage players to think only about them self. I’m not going to say you should remove it, but i think there should be an indication about how much magic find a player is using. That would be more fair to other players, since personally I don’t mind people wearing magic find in the easy stuff, but at some point the 3th stat you sacrifice for magic find will just make it allot harder for your group.
-It would be nice if the loot in wvwvw would actually follow the player that did get it. The bag is quite small and I tend it to miss it quite often in the heat of combat. I think I’m the the only one who does encounter this
-It would be nice if people cannot finish anymore while in stealth, I think this is a very unfair advantage, especially for thief’s. Would be more fair if you can actually can give it a last try to stay alive, than just knowing you are going to get finished by someone in stealth so you cannot defend yourself.
-I think it would be nice if i can see my bank anywhere in the game, but only use it when I’m talking to a banker, just like the black lion trading post.
-Same for crafting, it would be nice if you can see all the crafting of all your characters on every character, but only being able to use the active crafting of your current character.
-I would really like it if there would be something done about the ganking behavior of players in jumping puzzle of eternal battlegrounds. Don’t understand me wrong, fighting should be allowed to take place in there, but just not the fact that people just going to stand on a position where they can attack all incoming players without risk, or even build siege and kill people with that while the cannot defend them self decently against it. Or the big groups right at the start (however those you can dodge if you are doing it right). The fact you can take the stealth buff more as once a day now really helps against it, however there are still a few position, especially the dark room and the beast arena after that where people still are able to gank from save positions. I think that should be changed.
-account bound dyes :p (yea I know very unlikely it will happen, but i cannot help hoping^^)
edit: It would be also nice if we are able to see the fractals level of guildies. For example the level on their highest character and on their current one. That would make it easier to make groups in the guild that are around the same level/have around the same experience.

Soulbound equipment is there to make sure that hackers can’t trade your equips, it also means that to change the economy, you have to put more effort into it than to put a left-over equip you no longer use on the market that’s epic. I don’t really get account bound nowadays though, it’s better to have one binding system, not two.
~I agree with this.
~Titles work fine in Aion, also an NCsoft game. the titles are earned through various means like quests etc. These titles offer limited benefit such as HP,small attack boosts etc. Nothing game changing. Many find that in that game its beneficial to have them and a bit of an accomplishment since you have to earn them. On the flip side of this NC made some titles available only for cash, which was IMO a very bad move.
As I said earlier, if a voice chat system is implemented, I would leave the game if no disable system was implemented, even if it was only for parties, I’d want it off for me, always. I’m not going to explain why, as I don’t have to.
~I personally don’t like chatting in game, I feel I can do my part without the need to speak.
Inspecting players is a bit of a troublesome thing. In LaTale, most people have it off because they don’t want you seeing their build. Honestly, you should force it so that everyone can inspect others, so it would be fair to everyone. (This is how TERA handles it.)
~Again referencing AION, they have this feature too. They also have an online website so that you can see what gear is equipped etc (currently broken). It can be turned on/off and I believe the most common reason isn’t because people are scared of you stealing their build but because some players tend to harass others on their “not-so-elitist-attire”.
HP Numbers / percents on mob bars is off, for good reason. You can’t tell when a monster is going to die, so you ALWAYS have to be ready for something, a surprise, doesn’t matter.
~I enjoy this feature, 4+ years in FFXI and 4+ in Aion its nice to see something different.
~I’m not sure if this was towards my post but I did suggest solo dungeons. I mentioned that they should have some solo dungeons to teach players how to run a dungeon without the problem of affecting others. General rewards for it, perhaps even start them at 10/20/30 etc and possibly give in addition to general rewards a group item or two to help when they enter the group dungeons. This helps the group and encourages people to do the solo dungeons for training and encourages people to invite them.
I’m not moving on any of these opinions. I’ve had enough of people suggesting them, and I’ve experienced them too many times to listen to others. This is how it is, and you should wake up to reality of free to plays you’ve never played.
~I have limited experience in MMO’s I have only played FFXI, EVE, WoW, Tera, Aion, GW2, Lineage 2. Mostly my time was spent on console games with a vast number 200+ that I own for PS3, 25-30 Xbox 360 games, a few Wii U games, and a few other PC games. GW2 feels much more like an RPG than an MMO but so far I enjoy it. I hope to see updates and addons to make it even more of an appealing game than it already is. I believe this forum is good for showing ideas to devs and that good ones will hopefully be taken into consideration. I don’t often flame others ideas, if I comment its simply to give reasons why the idea may have problems but in a tactful way as not to seem rude or tossing others opinions.

I’m an absolut fan of GuildWars 2 art. I think it is unique on the game industry, I have 28inch print on my bedroom etc… So, basically what I’m asking is why the hell such an..
Ugly character room. It looks like an incomplete watercolour, when you have such amazing outstanding astonishing art!
Keep up the good work!
Preview in trading post would be appriciated.

After Wintersday I realised they CAN make enjoyable activities in the game like Bell Choir.
There is already one enjoyable activity named: Keg Brawl but in my eyes it is more a PvP activity and because its the only one yet I can’t play that all the time, thats why I can’t focus on farming karma/dungeons or playing WvW allday long…
But what about Bar Brawl? the achievements are already there but it seems the activity itself is not in the game yet.
And before the release of the game they were talking very open about activities that are going to be available in the game, like the Target Shootout. the playground is in Divinity’s Reach already but its ‘closed’. The same with Uzolan’s Mechanical Orchestra, would that be a alternative of Bell Choir? Well atleast I hope so because it is my favorite activity so far, unfortunatly its not accesable anymore because Wintersday is over.
There are alot activities in the queue listed here: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Activity
But what about something different.
I think almost everyone here that loves MMORPGs has played Runescape, If you look at the gameplay there are alot of enjoyable things to do like Building your own house! which in my opinion is a very big but fun activity to spend your time on right? and the ‘Agility’ skill was also very funny, to gracefully swing across rope swings, scramble over rock slides, squeeze through pipes and more.
Let’s go back to Building your own house, we can cut trees for wood, we can mine alot of different metals that you can use for building your house. and what if we think even further? what about we can make our own farm with animals or plants and stuff.
And if you like it what about a progress/lvl system, the higher the lvl the better/more stuff you can make/produce.
Some other ideas that came up in my head were:
Fishing
Riding (pets/animals?)
Hunting
More grouped jumping puzzles (like Wintersday and Halloween)
But people like rewards right?
If I’m right Arenanet would reward players for doing activities like unique skins/costumes etc. maybe a small amount of in-game currency(gold, silver, copper)?
What do you people think?
Personally I would like to see a way to change my race.
Something like the Total Makover Kit.
I know that the personal story is tied to the race, but, what you could do is to completey reset the storyline for the character who is changing race, so that the storyline starts from scratch.
Just a possible way to do it. It probably could be done in another way which I can’t think of right now, but it surely must be possible in some way.
If you, Arena Net, for some reason don’t want people to change their race often, then you could make “The Race Changer” so that it only can be used once per character. Or you could make it expensive.
My personal reason for wanting to change my race is that when I first created my character I didn’t think much of the animation in and out of combat, nor did I think of the way unirace armor looks like on specific races.
I have an Asura now, and the CoF medium armor just looks awful on it.
But most importantly of all; I did not think of how the cultural armor looked like
Now I regret that I started an Asura, leveled it all the way to 80, spent hundreds of gold on gear and cosmetic and hundreds of hours on it. AND a lot of money on gem purchases.
NOW I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO CHANGE MY RACE, ARENA NET, SO THAT I WONT HAVE TO BE SO BUGGED ABOUT MY CURRENT RACE NO MORE. I WILL NOT MAKE A NEW CHARACTER JUST TO DO ALL OF THE GRIND ALL OVER AGAIN, SO..
Please Arena Net, give us a race changer.
Sincerely a fan.
Oh.. And if it isn’t to much to ask for.. A way to turn our current cultural gear on our current race in, so that we can get cultural gear on our new race for none or reduced cost :-)

Hi there.. it’s been a while since i started playing GW2..
Thanks to ArenaNet, i really enjoy the game with new systems that so different than other games.
Let’s get to the point.
Here some suggestions that come into my mind.. but it just suggestions
+ Need mount pet (for exploring , or just to have fun with it)
+ Need more new type of weapons
(example : for two-handed : Knuckle, Scythe , War Axe, War Spear or Halberd, Musical Instrument, etc.)
+ Need more stylish armor or costum (for skin).
+ Need more new hair style template. (i hope we can adjust the length of the hair style that we want to)
+ Make the acc equip can be seen on char specially earrings.
+ Adjust the character’s voice (maybe need 3-7 voice template for each gender and races)
+ Housing
+ War between guilds
+ Increase the number of skills & shortcut that we can use without replace from other skill, for some people if there more skills can be used, that’ll make the game more interesting.
+ Need more emote (example : some new dances, or drink, eat, sit on chair, command to Synchronization the dances with other player, etc.)
I think that’s all of my selfishness.. LoL I wish some of my suggestions really come true specially new type of weapon, stylish armor and costum, and new hair style template.
Thank you.
And sorry for my bad english.

The only time i run into players is in the fields. I think that there should be taverns where your character can drink at, and there be a drinking animation for it, (like there is in the monster hunter games) which would make it possible for people to meet other players in order to party up.
OMG YES DUELS!
Well,
I mean since there are different races in game and each of them has their own culture.
So, they should have a different combat actions/moves and have their own professional call(name?)…
For example,
Human warrior can be name as Mercenary, Charr warrior as Berserker, Norn as Champion and Asura as Gladiator…and so as the rest of the professional…
When come to combat, they should have different combat actions/moves which suit their own race and culture instead doing the same actions in every races…
So, by that way they can really be unique in their own race… :/
[Resting atm :)]
I have an idea who will be great for new players (like me) to adopt the main ideas of this game. I suggest you to add full tutorials. The player will click at a button tutorial and then he will enter a state that is connected to the tutorial. For example, a crafting tutorial. The player enters a small map which includes only trainers and you need (by your commands) to create new items at some trainers.
It will be good for new players to be professionals in GW2. You can add more tutorials such as: skills and traits, atributes, effects and more. I know there are tutorials online, but somtimes they don’t explain well, and I prefer to do it in-game.
