On the guild roster, there should be a section which shows when a player was last online. This will help find out how active players are in a guild.

This feature was on the first Guild Wars so I’m a little confused as to why it isn’t on this one too (as well as trading).

Anyway, anybody else want this?

This would be really helpful to be honest. Not much more to say about it, support.

As for trading, I think it’s been replaced by mail and the trading post so that friends can still give items; but business has to go through the trading post and be taxed. Not everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s the only reason I can think of.

I guess this makes sence. It’s just if people decide to trade through the mail, scammers can easily scam. I haven’t actually seen or heard of it actually happen but I bet it has done.

During the beta and first few days of release, a lot of people were worried about this. Fortunately, it seems to be quite rare. It would be nice to avoid, but I’d rather not see hyper-inflation kick in too soon. Each to their own, I guess.

I think there should be 2 information types regarding this:
- Last Online
- Last Represented the Guild

I too is a guild leader with currently 44 members, this is why I would be really happy if this feature was added.

Agreed at the very least we need a “last online”, “last represented” would be awesome too.

Been asking for this since the beta pointing out that they had this in GW1 and obviously did not do a sufficient gap analysis when they started building GW2 but as always this falls on deaf ears, i.e. Anet dev ears.

Has anyone noticed recently, that now there are a lot of members listed as “unknown” in the guild roster?

This seems to indicate some form of inactivity notice but as Anet do not seem to have announced this anywhere, I’m not sure if that is accurate. For the time being I am removing members listed as “unknown” and recruiting new members.

I have, not on the names, but on the location they logged out in some of them said unknown.

As a guild leader I would really like to see this feature. We have members from across the globe so I can’t personally know if I’ve just missed someone regularly or they’re not logging on.
Can’t see any real downsides.

Last online/last rep, yes, please.

As for a secure trade, I would like this also as there are times when I give people in my party food buffs or potions, and it’s a pain to mail every single person in the part (especially with the spam cap set at 2 mails).

Another nice feature would be a secure crafting window. I find someone who can make the item I want, I have the materials. They open a trade window that displays the item to craft, I put in my materials (and tip/payment) and when we click trade, it makes the item, gives it to the proper party and the other party gets paid. This one would of course require more programming but would be a cool way of doing crafting.

100% agree. There are multi-guild members in our guild and I’m not sure if they still represent us anymore. If we had a way to check we could clean up the roster if they haven’t logged in or represented for a certain period of time.

I agree with this too. The current guild i am in is at least 3 months old but we are 400+ members but only about 25% of those members are active. We have been coming up with plans for how to do a clean up but having a roster that shows when members was last online would make this much easier.

I’d add this to the list of guild-related QOL features that are nonsensically absent from a game with “Guild” in the title (intuitive MOTD editing, MOTD in chat, coaltions, officer chat…)

I absolutely DO NOT want this information. I really prefer that they keep it exactly as it is, but if they should implement this I hope they make it so that only the guild leaders can see. It is a source of potential drama, and it’s unneeded.

What would you do with this information?

No, it didn’t. It referred to a historical period where the guilds battled each other for control. King Adelbern outlawed guilds in Ascalon to keep history from repeating itself and guilds were not able to be created until players entered Kryta.

Hmm, so you admit that players are demonstrated to be a reversal of the lore regarding guilds. Considering that the game was marketed primarily for its GvG PvP, I think it’s a pretty big stretch to say that the word “guild” in the title is in no way whatsoever a reference to player guilds, even when considering the lore.

If the title wasn’t meant to invoke player organizations in any way, it would have been a different title.

Regardless of nomenclature, the point is that GW2 has not lived up to GW1’s standards of community-oriented features (the lack of GvG being one of the more blatant ones). This thread is an attempt to rectify that. Unless you’re trying to argue that we don’t need QOL features because of the game’s title, bringing it up in the first place is of questionable intent.

No, I’m just trying to point out that GvG has nothing to do with GW2 and never has. GvG was also not a selling point of GW1 that I am aware of. Guild Wars was never intended to indicate that Guilds fighting was something to look forward to, concidering the Guild Wars were a terrible thing that nobody in the world wanted to happen again.

Lastly, being able to have GvG has nothing at all to do with being able to see the last time someone was online, or more pertinent the last time someone represented your particular guild.

I’m not sure how this would be a bad thing or a “potential source of drama”?

Part of running a guild is knowing your guild member base. Knowing how many active users your guild has and knowing when to start recruiting more. Almost every other major MMO has this option and it’s invaluable for guild leadership in cleaning up rosters of inactive members. I don’t see ANY downside to this…. it’s not anything new to the MMO world.

The only thing this being implemented would do is give all player what we have wanted since release. The ability to run a guild properly. Its just one of the essentials to having a successful guild. This is anets biggest mistake not implementing this at start. And is also the cause of hundred of faild guilds im sure. Even my own guild almost died. And not having this login info makes running an active guild 100x harder than it ever should have been in the firstplace
