It would be interesting to change your name at an engraver (or something along those lines) to compliment this change, inspecting gear would also be nice. Suggestions?

That would be a nightmare…

imagine all the foul trolls renaming their swords with body parts.

Then you also have a mess with having items labeling…

“What’s that sword”

“It’s the omeganatorist”

“Um… it’s not on the wiki or GWdb”

Maybe the original name under the engraved one would be nice. I’m assuming that engraved names would work like pet names. The system would be easy to implement.

Giving a nickname to your weapon would be fine, imo, as long as it binds the weapon to you (or to your account at least).
