Legendaries similar to GW1 GWAMM title
I actually like the idea.
Would be nice. It would be more popular then crafting such I quess.
I am not really the achievement hunting type, but it would probably be fairer for those who dislike farming.
Guess it’s not going to happen anyway, but a good suggestion nonetheless.
Its an interesting idea in theory but in practice i dont see it as such a good idea . the OP mentions the GWAMM title which tells me they probably have it . This gives them quite a few achievements already .
Weapon achievements aren’t all that hard nor are boss and if we’re going to honest about it you can buy your way through crafting achievements getting survivor in the process .
interesting idea in general, I like it.

Thank you guys for appreciating the idea. I will elaborate on it further on.

The Hall of Monuments achievements will NOT count for it. They were GW1 specific. The Legendary will be based only on GW2 specific achievements.
Also, when a the first Legendary weapon is unlocked, it will give the title “Legendary Hero of Tyria” which will have the same value as GWAMM had in GW1. Once the account has unlocked all the legendary weapon types will give a new title “Legendary God of Tyria” which will be more than the GWAMM in my opinion.
I will make a little example:
Lets consider the game has now 100 achievements. When you get 65 achievements you have unlocked your first legendary weapon and the fist Title.
Which one will it be depends on the weapon master achievement as that if you want a Legendary dagger, you must max the dagger master achievement first.
After this, every 2-3 other achievements completed will unlock a new legendary weapon for the account an so on until you get 93 achievements and the 2nd Title.
I let 7 achievements free from the total because people should not be forced to get them all but have a little choice in which they can/want to max.
As the game progresses, more achievements will be added so the percentage will raise up as follows: You will still unlock the first Legendary at 65 completed achievements, but the others will be unlocked all at 123 achievements if the game has got 135 achievements in total.
In this way, everyone can get his preferred legendary in the same amount of time.
NOTE: As weapons are unlocked only once in one account and they are account bound, any character can claim as many as they want from the hero panel.
Legendary weapons will be earned not bought and will actually show how many different things you have achieved in the game.
Any character in the account will have a new icon next to its name similar to commander icon
- 1 sword showing that he has got the first Legendary
- 2 swords showing that he has more than half of the legendary weapons
- 2 swords and a shield for the “Legendary God of Tyria”

It’s already too late to rework the system.
What should be done instead is title for making a legendary weapon. Instead of unshowable achievement for making one.
Expanding upon the concept of your idea, I think Legendary weapons should start out as Exotic Weapons that you craft or acquire somehow.
And then, as you suggest, as you fulfill certain objectives, you reach Checkpoints where the weapon “evolves”.
These objectives should not be about grinding nor wealth – they should be about skill and dedication.
Getting all achievements/titles should give another (GWAMM-like) title for GW2, and also granting some power to create a legendary weapon. But not needing very rare and expensive crafting materials for it.

This could be an example of “Evolving” of an Exotic weapon into a Legendary weapon.
I don’t understand why A-Net didn’t invent this system from the beginning.
