Ok look I don’t have a problem with a post being deleted, I am rude to people sometimes and I understand why it is deleted. But three times now I have had post deleted with a generic response of

Please help keep these forums a productive and friendly place by posting in a respectful tone.

Even though in my post no where was I not productive and friendly, I was simply responding to the post that was directed at me. At first I thought it was the other poster that reported it, he said he didn’t. Now if I am in fault of a post of some rule then infract me plain and simple, but at least tell me what it is was wrong with it.

That is like saying don’t say that word, when I have said 500 words and trying to figure out what word your talking about. I can’t fix or not do something if I am unaware of what I said was wrong. That particular post I said nothing rude or un productive, I was simply responding in a conversation to the OP. We had a good discussion that was very civil in manor of speaking.

They also say
This is an automated message generated by an infraction given by a human moderator. If you believe you have received this infraction in error or wish to make an appeal, please send an e-mail to forums@arena.net.

Now this is great but I got banned for 36 hours or so and again the post I made had nothing insulting in it that I could tell or rude, so I email the email given. Explained my position and asked for a clarification on why. That was almost 5 days ago and I have yet to hear anything back. If you want us to email that link then at least reply to us.

My suggestion and I think a great deal of the moderators are doing a great job, but can you at least when infracting and deleting our post tell us what in our post was against the rules. I am not going to re-post mine as it is no ones business just asking nicely for a lil more information so we are users can not repeat the same mistake twice and get a ban.

I also do not understand the moderator thought process at all.

They censor threads of importance under the pretense that it is being looked at or to avoid this or that, or that there is another thread of the same nature – but we see threads of utter nonsense in the suggestions forum – threads that do not suggest anything, and simply complain – and no moderator touches it.

Another interesting aspect of Moderation is that at the beginning, we could see Moderator names, and PM them directly.
Now, we can’t. Funny, huh?

I am totally for proper, active moderation.
But it needs to be unbiased and with a single goal: keeping proper discussions alive, rather than killing them.

A good moderator merges threads, rather than locking duplicates.
A good moderator deletes or locks meaningless threads, rather than letting them bury important threads.

You have good points and not to be rude but I would greatly appreciate if we can stay on the topic at hand here. I am not trying to get the moderators mad I am just suggesting more information be given.

If I am in fault of the rules then I will take my punishment, but if I am in fault of the rules and do not understand where I am in fault and I make it on two other threads unknowingly and get banned I have an issue with that.

In closing if you can modify your post to only show what pertains to this thread please. I would love to have the moderators take a good look at the thread and take it seriously. Appreciate it and thanks for your understanding

I thought they calmed down with this since I haven’t been infracted in weeks (down from one or two a day). Maybe I’m just posting in a more respectful manner lately…

usually I do to, and there are times I post things that I know is going to get infracted so I deal with it. But there are some that are just what is so bad ? Still waiting on a moderator to just give me a comment to say they are looking into it or bringing it to the team

I just deleted the off-topic bit of my post.
Unfortunately, I can’t remove it from your quote.

Asking me to remove something that you quote doesn’t really make much sense.

Now on the topic, some posts can be a little aggressive – sometimes we don’t even realize it.

Your first post in the “Removing the Prisoners’ Dilemma for MF” thread was such, in my opinion.

I have also made some inappropriate posts, most of them not even moderated, and some constructive posts were deleted.

Sometimes I put a thread back on track (was being derailed) only to see it locked a few minutes later.

And the sad part is that Moderators NEVER unlock a thread.
It’s hard to go back on your word, I suppose.
