Mounts [Merged]
I actually wish they would have gone with mounts instead of waypoints… waypointing just makes an open world game feel so instanced (especially with the number of waypoint they have currently…)
I remember reading that Anet didn’t want mounts because they felt they would ruin the sense of scale in the world, but waypoints are even worse about this…
They should have just made this an instanced f2p at this point. Don’t get me worng though, I love the game enough; I just hate the waypoint system.

teleporting was the best feature of GW1. GW1 players would have totally disliked the idea or runing around with or without mounts. Teleporting is in GW1 history so you can’t argue about it. What they did differently for it, are the costs which in GW1 they didn’t exist. I like mounts but I prefer WP system . If they would find a co-existence of the both systems would be great, but as it is now, mounts are pretty useless when the mobs are very close to eachother.

1. Gw1 isn’t an open world game
2. The actually map instances don’t have teleporting; only the staging areas (towns, camps, etc.).
I don’t mind them having waypoints; waypoints or mounts, either is fine. I just find that there are waaaay too many in the game currently and, as a persistent open world game, seems to hurt it more than enhance it.
Hope they’ll add them at some point. It’s clear it can be done looking at the Witch Costume which allows you to summon a broom to ride.
I expect mounts to be placed in GW2 at some point, the fact that some people are against it is not to be taken seriously, because looking at some posts of the people in question, you start to deduct their grasp on things needed in this game.
I honestly don’t care if mounts are simply a cosmetic feature, I wish, however, to have the option to get a mount if I want to.

Your arrogance is truly breathtaking if you truly believe that people who hold different opinions to your own should be ignored.
Some sort of speed boost is a deffo must for this game! Especially for WvW matches. The maps are just so massive that in some cases it is called for, i’m sure many of you have been in a situation where you are with your group when poop goes down then some of you die, which spawns you in an entirely opposite location and it’ll take you 10mins just to run back and hope everyone is still there and that’s if you don’t get squashed by an enemy zerg while you are running back. This is just not fun! and when your in the normal world the use of way points cost money so it’s literally a case of pay in game money for convienance or take the longer way with no other option. This was not the case in GW1 so why do it just because the world is now more open? I agree with the fact mounts indeed are not part of Tyria however a speed boost like the one used by The secret world would fit perfectly into the game without ruining anything. oh and PS sort out the armor repairs!!! It sucks you have dammage to armor in PvP! and in PvE OMG really? twice and you gotta pay to port back then pay to repair then either run back or pay to port back to where you are?? I’m all up for armor repair but really?? couldn’t you atleast make it last longer than 2 deaths? and feel less of a money sink

i do if those peoples sole arguement is the usual kitten I hate wow and wow has mounts. Must hate mounts.
Im for mounts if they are cosmetic but ill admit to be excited if they did mounted combat. But if someone has a genuine concern Im not one to write them off. The major issue I have with the nay-sayers is the whole wow references.
I don’t like the idea of mounts in GW2, would ruin the whole concept.

It’s ironic you mention arrogance. Why don’t you read the arguments brought against mounts in this thread and see if you still feel that way about what I said and if you do, look up the word “arrogance”.
