hello all, first of all I am going to say this is going to be way tooo long, so read and then comment :X
Most people up till now complain about endgame content, yet while you walk around you dont see a lot with world compleation or other achivments, and I am one of them, nevertheless, I am pure hardcore PvE person and i am not one to explore
i love the Semi sandbox concept that Anet has implemented and to take that away with raids is going to ruin it (i am not going to contredect my title, read on) so there are multiple ways to keep it in the same mainframe of sandbox and way of GW2 and have all people enjoy and content. after playing for a month, i have seen a couple of problems with the game events
1: big partys become an insane madness
2: people try to go for exploits to get the rewards (ex. ppl dont fight claw of jourmag on the path and destroy the ice pillers… etc)
3: Anet has dumb downed the boss because the holy trinty has been taken out.
imho i dont fight the thrill of the kill in fight a big boss/event that looks glamerious while the thought in my head is whack a mole as how easy it is.
Raids: i have been thinking of many ways of how GW2 could have raids, and wouldn’t lose its edge, one way came to mind and it is at follows:
1: Switch mode: some people MAY be famillier with the concept, when entering the field all party members are seperated into groups, and each group and structure are split depending on the party leaders, does not matter on numbers (lets take the usual numbers of 10 and 25, and i will explain this with 25, you can visialize it as 10 yourself) group sets are not set, can be what ever the leader determens it before the start of the battle, 1-w.e . the raid would be a boss battle ONLY. so it would not be grind feasta to be incomplaince with GW2 pholosphy (at max 2-5 pulls before)
an explantion of switch battle would (depending on the event /raid boss)
1- support /buff group in the back
2- range group
3- condition group
4- melee group
5- toughness group
this does not mean those are preset options, it can be mixed and matched, this is just and example,
the fight would be in waves generally a type of tactal warfare, switching spots between takeing on mobs, taking high damage blasts, group and spreading (normal raid stuff)
but the difference would be in each Position of the map one group can stand and attack a certin mob,
for example to make myself clearer, a group can be made by the leader of one person, to jump in and stun a target, then a group of ten switch and burn dps the mob,
events can be made to make raiding more entertaning, like:
1:- guild raid only
2:- 1 of each prof atleast ( with have 2 more from two others)
plus to not make this an insane grind, Anet can make this a monthly different event raid, the raid monster with abilities would differe each month (that would be asking WAY too much, but atleast you would have varaition and a new achivment)
plus i would love to see this (if it was ever made) hardcore mode, which would make everything insanly hard
