Any siege with wheels should be able to move with WASD. It doesn’t have to look pretty; just have the user and the Sequipment move together.

Sure this feature would take a while to come up with as far as animation goes but having this in the game would give siege equipment a longer lifetime.

IMO I think escorting an artillery team of catapults from one fort to an enemy fort would be realistic and would really get some meta into WvW.

This would be imbalanced.

I would just move my defensive siege backwards away from the AoE if I realize that it was in a dangerous place or closer to destroy the defensive siege being built.

Siege equipment doesn’t move for a reason. Placing it is and should be a tactical and strategic decision. If it makes you happy maybe they can take the wheels off of the models.

Of course you would, but then you would lose line of sight of what you once had. of course you wouldn’t be able to use the siege while moving.

It would not be imbalanced at all since both sides can do what you just said. the devs could put a channeling time on getting the siege equipment in and out of transport mode.

Its pure realism. If it has wheels it should be able to roll. maybe they should take the wheels off of the siege equipment. That would make more sense and make me smile.

I think it’d be pretty cool to have catapults, scorpions and stuff like that have some mobility, but only if it took two people to move them and they moved forward/backward at a pretty slow crawl. Those people stuck at the moving positions on either side would be sitting ducks without other players around to cover them, or they’d have to stop moving and “exit” the vehicle in order to defend themselves.

I don’t see why its imbalanced, sometimes we accidently throw down a flame ram a little too far away, so why can’t it move at least at an agonizingly slow pace. And moving it out of AoE? Seriously, its siege, its huge and its heavy, I see no reason why you should be able to move it out in time, not to mention your wasting time you could be using it.
And if really necessary, it could have a “cast time” so as to avoid moving it out of AoE. Maybe even have the siege degrade with movement.

I think your asking to roll a balista or arrow cart into place. That would be pretty bad IMo. You either know where to place seige equipment or waste the supplies to be short on aim. If anything they should add a salvage seige equipment option for the original maker for half the supplies used. It helps move the equipment slightly without full on returning it to you.

If it takes multiple players to move the siege, it’s fine.

- First player to click Siege Weapon (Player #1) would control the direction.
- Subsequent players that click simply add speed to the movement, but the movement is decided by Player #1 (everyone that helps walks automatically in whatever direction Player #1 moves the siege)
- Players can be targetted while moving the siege
- Players can stop helping anytime by using movement/dodge commands.

I think this should be added.
Seriously, an arrow cart is a CART in other words, I CAN DRAG IT AROUND.
It should be slow, like 1/5th walking speed. ballistas should be even slower, catapults even slower than that… and trebuchets should not move. As for the flame ram… traditionally it was assembled eslewhere, and lugged up to the gate :p why can’t we do that? it would be more fun… lugging the kitten thing through arrow cart fire while trying to get to the gate.
