Urgently Introduce a LFG Dungeon Tool
I agree with everything this post says.
Making a group is tedious and is hardly even worth doing with the horrible “spam” filter when you’re not even spamming.. Also, when someone rages out in the middle of a dungeon it makes it even more of a pain to have to leave, find someone AND get back through to catch up to your team, especially in story where there is a HUGE lack of waypoints.
Adding a “looking for group” tool would make this game MUCH more entertaining because it would allow more dungeon play due to not having to spend 45 minutes looking for people to do exactly what you need and not get blocked by the bad filter that was implemented.
Mad king dungeon just went live and its so freaking hard to get in with a group. 2 people in and 3 stuck, 3 people in and 2 stuck. Why cant we just use a LFG tool to teleport inside just like in wow. Its so freaking frustrading!
“I agree with everything this post says.”
I totally agree with this idea. But I would go so far as to suggest that you also do away with Story Mode. The longer the game is active the lower your chance of finding a group who want to do a prerequisite dungeon mode.
Introducing a Dungeon Queue should be the last resort – in the lack of better option.
If there were no alternatives, I’d agree with your suggestion.
Fortunately, the real sollution is fixing what is causing the problems to begin with.
- Make overfarmed areas less attractive
- Make underfarmed areas more atractive
- Make all qualities of Nodes available in every area, but give them Red color when your tool is too weak, Yellow when it is adequate, and Green when your tool is too strong.
- Make a LFG window that displays all players with LFG status and a simple note where they can say what they are looking for.
The less automated systems, the better, because they ruin communities.
The over/underfarmed area problem is something that needs to be fixed asap, as it is ruining the community by making players saturated of PvE very quickly.

Yes, I have mixed feelings about a “Dungeon Queue”. I also think it is possible that it can cause a diminished feeling of community when one just teleports into a dungeon. Nevertheless, I don’t hate it and am open to the idea, I almost think it would fit better in GW2 than it did in WoW.
Nevertheless, it’s not actually what I was suggesting. I would be totally satisfied with a functional and efficient LFG tool that just takes care of party creation for dungeons (or for world bosses etc).
make it as the trading post, one LFG UI for all local servers! we can play with other players from other servers in a dungeon.
I agree with OP, I am not big on dungeons personally, I prefer just exploring and working on alts, however sometimes I would like to do a dungeon and to sit in LA trying to get a group for a story mode has been a nightmare…and besides those left who are willing to go to a story mode don’t know wth is going on in a dungeon…SM was a bad idea from the start…I realize I should probably have done them as soon as I hit 80 but that wasn’t what I wanted to do at the time…but now it just plain sucks
A decent lfg system in this game needs to do two things:
1. Tell people what you are looking for! All that happens with this system is an icon pops over your head. Really?
2. Be server wide. That way, we can explore, hangout, or, you know, PLAY THE GAME while looking for a group instead of hanging out in LA all day.

These are the only two states you’ll find the world of Tyria.”
a dungeon finder tool would be a huge diffence in the game.
I hate standing in front off a dungeon waiting to get a group.
I also hate the fact that you need to run to the dungeon aswell.
So yeah it would be much easier to get a dungeon group and get teleported inside the dungeon when the group is formed.

No way, story mode is there for people to learn the story of the dungeon, since this game is in fact an MMORPG, notice the ‘RPG’ part. I want story modes to be kept. and story modes are ‘easier’ versions of the dungeon with different stories for those who wish to do them. So taking story mode away would be taking away an entire difficulty away from the dungeons, preventing casual players from enjoying dungeons and only allowing hardcore gamers to enjoy the content. NO, let all content be enjoyable to all players.
As for the LFG dungeon tool, i disagree with it as well. It should be a very last resort, because otherwise we’ll end up with everyone just staying in a city doing nothing and waiting for groups to do dungeons while complaining about nothing to do. so no, i disagree with the lfg dungeon as well. improve current methods for finding groups for dungeons, but don’t convert it into a lfg dungeon tool.

the system as it is right now requires that people stay in LA and do thing, waiting for groups to do dungeons.
With a server wide LFG system, we can actually play the game while we are waiting for our group to forum up.

i’ve had plenty of opportunities to join groups by playing in the areas where the dungeon is.
However, if that’s truly the case, then a server wide lfg chat should be implemented, but only a chat, not one that teleports the players into the dungeon, because that would again promote players to stay in LA.
Agree that there should be a much better LFG tool in place. Gw1 was horrible with LFG as well :p Need to implement an easier method than spamming zones.
Heck even a seperate “mists” type area for group finding would be a feasible way to resolve the issue if a whole LFG tool is unviable to create.
Server-wide chat for LFG would be a HUGE step forward. Right now you are forced to either spam in LA, hoping to find players passing by (and with the recent event it is kinda impossible anyways). Or to sit in the area with dungeon, which is mostly not the area you want to be in.
Automatic dungeon finder may be a bit too far. But an easily visible server-wide chat is a good idea.
If you’re being suppressed because your spamming map chat too much then don’t spam it that much.
The best way to fix this would be just a LFG chat channel.
