Why Not Dual Trait Like WoW?
The answer is obvious. This isn’t WoW.
Not to say multiple builds wouldn’t be nifty for your profession. Traits are surely a hassle to swap out.
Also, there is a party searching system, but for whatever reason, people just don’t know about it.
I would love to use gold to buy "Saved’ builds and swap to them. Might have a use for gold other than unlocking bank tabs (Up to 3 unlocked now).
As for the party search the reason nobody knows about it is the horrible implementation of it + it is hidden inside the UI social options.
You have dual trait: PvP and PvE
That’s all we need.
Anything else only serves the Holy Trinity.
In my opinion… they should make free the respec like in GW1.
In pvp you can change your build for free… same things should be done in pve (not in dungeon or in fight)… if not… let me have 2 pve build.
I’m guardian, in dungeon i use some traits (shield)… in farm or events i need different traits (greatsword)… i can’t pay all the time! T_T

This is a silly answer, unfortunately used by to many fanboyz.
We know it is not WoW, if only because it says Guildwars2 when we login.
So what. Adopting good points from other games is not a bad thing, it will not cause Anet to suddenly grow horns and become the Devil’s right hand man. There are many car manufacturers in the world all with a wide range of models in their catalog, yet they all have engines, all have seats, all have doors, all have wheels which are round, most have turbos and fuel injection.
Dual specs in WoW is useful to the point you can have a spec setup for PvE and a spec set for PvP. It’s a no brainer for people that do PvE and WvW that we use different specs in PvE vs WvW. I like to run a hardened build in WvW that I simply do not need when doing PvP.
yeah i didnt mean ‘gw2 should be like wow’
i meant ‘there is good system which gw2 can learn from wow’
Btw i just noticed party search Thx all XD

haha i have guardian too XD i have same problem.
yes we need 2 trait build (suitable for tanking and solo playing)
+1
either a ‘reset points’ button that we can earn/buy/achieve
or
dual or more ‘preset’ specs that we can fill out as we like.
This isn’t about a trinity it’s about convenience. I don’t like having to go to LA, respec, then back to my instance every time I do a dungeon group (that in itself is about 10s at lvl80, plus time wasted).
I COULD solo in my instance build, but I don’t enjoy it, and it’s slower.
just being able to save a few so you still have to to to a trainer
How about a food you can make in the Mystic Forge that will reset your Traits when you use it? Throw one of the items from Miyani into the recipe to balance cost against usefulness.

I too would like the option to store multiple builds that can be swapped out of combat. Sometimes the build your run with in PvE isn’t necessarily the same build you would like to use in Dungeons.
Heh, Dual trait isn’t only WoW thing. GW 1 also had this and it was nice. I am quite surprised it isn’t in GW2 too. I am sure that 2 traits (PvE, sPvP) are enough for someone but not for me. I’d like to have special traits for WvsW because it’s different than sPvP and PvE.
Always remember one thing – your opinion is your opinion not fact.
Like stated above, i would like to see them reinstate the option to change traits in a town like you could in GW1. I loved that i could go one build one moment and then if i wanted to do something else just head to a town and switch it up. Saving the builds like you could in GW1 would also be nice but id just like the reset option back =[
I would love a duel trait system but I think it should come late in level.
One of the cool things in GW was all of the PvE content couldn’t be beaten by sticking with only one spec, so accessibility was a priority in a lot of the design. For example you could save build, equipment and attribute templates.

I think once GW2 settles into it’s grove, such accessibility options should be introduced once again. I loves accessibility!

Actually GW1 did not have dual traits. It had a completely different build system which allowed multiple builds to be stored and loaded at will.
When people talk about dual traits, it is as the name suggests, dual meaning two. They are both loaded once and can be swapped with a simple button press. It was a simple way of having a PvE and PvP build pre-loaded. If you want to reset either of them then you have to pay gold.
I would much rather have the GW1 style of loading builds but suspect that like myself, everyone asks for dual traits as we kind of accept that Anet dev will not let us have the old GW1 flexible build system.
I wouldn’t mind paying 10g that at lvl 80 allows me to move my trait points around freely in town or in a specific location. Obviously not in battle though. I don’t want to pay 2g each time I want to experiment with a new build or have a different PvE to WvW build. It’s just taking away flexibility and fun, it makes the decision way to serious and even at lvl 80 I’ve not yet distributed my points.
In GW1 we could move around our attributes/traits in town.
Not agreeing with the OP’s post in regards to WoW. What I would like to see is a return of the GW1 skill templates that you could load saving the time and hassle in reorganizing everything.
I can’t imagine it would be difficult to implement all trainers with a feature to load any of your saved templates for the same price as wiping your trait lines.

Erm, it does not cost that much to reset your traits each time. You buy a manual once, then choose the reset option, which is much cheaper, when you want to change them
Personally, I too would like to see a return of the GW1 system (like many have pointed out)where you save pretty much any template for a build that you wanted and equip them at will in towns or pvp lobbies.
I know in sPvP you can actually change traits inside of the match at will, don’t think it can be done in combat though, but being able to do templates would cut down on time.
