I’m getting quite unlucky. 25 attempts at griffon potion and still nothing… Anyone having similar results?

Edit: Got plush griffon, took a good 27 tries though! Must have been unlucky

Sadly it took me 27 tries to get the Ventari Tonic, but in my opinion, it was well worth it

I think the Endless Griffon Tonic took me 6 or 7 tries.

I got endless Soldier in 1st try, princess in 8th try, griffin in 12th try.
I want to make endless toymaker from combining 4 of those endless tonics…PLS

Endless dolyak? Well that’s a bummer. Easily the dumbest form that the endless toymaker tonic transforms you into. And lol, I screwed up selling my toymaker’s at 30g in anticipation. Thankfully I saw it skyrocketing and bought it again before it went too high (36g).

won’t try for the endless toymaker, too risky, but my experiences for the other ones:
13 tries for soldier endless tonic
7 tries for princess tonic
1 try for griffon toy (yeah, I know that one’s fixed ;-) )

I only read about this recipe in the afternoon just before I had to leave – saw the prices of glue & stuffing rising and quickly bought lots of mats to be able to craft the tonics (thought the stuff wouldn’t be affordable by the evening at the rates it was rising). 22 gold worth of mats to be exact.. when I came back,the prices were about half of what I paid.. and I didn’t even have to use half of what I bought.. ;-)
apart from my overly quick ‘buy as long as it’s there’ reaction, I’m pretty happy.. and broke.. but well, maybe the prices rise again and I’ll get back some of my loss =)

at least I can be a toy soldier with a plush griffon =)

I tried 6 times for Griffin Tonic and didn’t get it. They should have made it a permenant recipe with no chance of failure. I really wanted to be able to turn into a griffin all the time ;_;

Right, minis are 100%. The endless tonics are a separate recipe. They transform your character into the minipet in question and don’t go away after being used like a normal tonic would.

They transform you in to whatever tonic. The Endless Plush Griffon Tonic is a reusable item that will transform you in to a plush griffon for 15 minutes (or until you cancel out of it). As with all transformations it can be used for the costume brawl as well.

Yes the minis are 100% guaranteed. The Endless Tonics don’t use Cogs though and since (as far as I know) you can only get 500 cogs ever you will likely have 3 frames left over. This gives them a use. Or you can make all 5 tonics and buy the minis with gems.

I told myself I would only try 10 times for the Endless Griffon Tonic, as the Griffon mini was what I wanted most out of this holiday.

However, my friends (thinking I could maybe make all five minis and not caring themselves) had been sending me all of their glue and stuffing. So I kept enough to make 2 minis and decided I would use anything left over for attempts at the tonic.

I said 10 tries, max.

And after 10, I was about to make the mini when I decided (because I am a gambler and knew I could buy the plushie off the gem store) to try JUST. FIVE. MORE.

And was both happy, relieved, and wanting to kick myself in the rear when typically I got it on the 11th try haha.

As someone who collects minis and plays GW2 because it’s free and I am broke (this Christmas I am unemployed with literally 25 dollars to my name)…I was seriously bummed out about only being able to for sure get 2 minis for free.

So being able to have the pet (gold to gem conversion) plus the tonic seriously made my holiday, ANET, thank you! And thanks everyone who risked mats to find this out!

Since some people have gotten the Toy Golem tonic, could you post a picture of yourself while transformed?

I don’t want to wait until tomorrow to see what the little guy looks like.

Also, does the tonic make you toy-sized? Or does it just make you look like a giant version of said toy?

My luck must be bad, used more than 20 tries for the endless doll tonic.

Took me about almost three stacks of glue/wads to just get two of the tonics (princess and ventari). Hopefully it won’t take that much for the other three…

Endless griffon on 8th try. Endless doll on 31st try. Rather unlucky I’d say, but really wanted those 2 endless tonics. Materials cost me a bit more than 10g.

I was going to make the doll and tonic (and maybe the soldier), but not if I’m going to be a human sized doll. Blech!

Wow Anet, you truly are a master of stealth nerf. Price of glue and wad went up 10x, while they nerf the chance of getting a endless. Tried 58 times, 0 (Zero) endless tonic. GG, you win ANet.

so i had a 1/6 chance overall. 24 attempts to get the 4 tonics.

1/8 for toy ventari
1/7 for plush griffon
1/5 for toy soldier
1/4 for princess doll

Not as good as the 1/3 people reported, but not bad at all.

Right now I feel bad for the guy with the golem tonic, since you dont keep the frames to try extra tonics.

Same here. I just found out about this, and last night my girlfriend and I made a mini apiece at the forge.

Had we known this was possible, we probably would just make all the tonics and purchase the toys from the gem store. :\

Here’s hoping it’s possible to get extra frames after the airship goes to LA.

No emotes, but when you jump it flutters around!

Bought a bunch of glues/wads right after seeing this. The prices have gone up to 70c for wads and 90c for glue now. Should have horded them when I saw them going for 4c last night.
As for wads/glue drops, wiki states they can be dropped by mobs or from gifts. I have yet to see either for myself though.

Its an extremely small chance at getting glue/wad from gifts. Out of every single gift I’ve opened (at least 300) I have gotten 25 Glue from one gift.

Well I got Endless Toy Ventari Tonic on my Lucky 13th try! Stuffing and Glue was a little over 60c each at the time, so im down like 10g, I got the one I wanted and dont care about toymaker tonic so pretty happy.

Also, about getting stuffing and glue from presents, I’ve never gotten any from them and I’ve even got an Unbreakable Bell (sold it straight away for 62g :P), sooo from my perspective, Unbreakable Bells have a higher drop rate than stuffing and glue combined!

You can always buy the pet at the gem shop. That’s what i have done for my griffon (cost: about 5g, no real money) because i want the potion too.

So far i have spent about 10g trying to get this damn tonic….

I have heard numerous accounts of legitimate feedback that the forging drop rate seemed to have changed to a much lower rate.

They wanted you to not get it as easily because..
Honestly I don’t find myself capable of understanding why a company would want to dissatisfy its player base with such ferocious regularity during each event. They come so close to making perfect events then add in something RNG based that is poorly implemented from its base genetic level. Why aren’t people coming to the community in droves? Look deep and you will find your answer.

The material prices have all skyrocketed so good luck farming yourself more attempts unless you are in the minority that has plenty of gold either obtained through playing the market or other means (often either gameplay sideline based or shady).

Why can’t it be purely based on skill/effort to participate in the events?
Its bleeding xmas, not the national gambling holiday.

Anet, you were doing fine in so many other aspects! Also people really should have had a warning about forging the tonics and minipets. Its important we understand our options. If people are not alerted of their options ahead of time (I waited to make my pets), you cannot be surprised when they become dissatisfied with the status quo.

Is it really wise to sit back and let people get dissatisfied when it could easily be explained upfront? Why not cash in on the hundreds of brownie points and direct purchase we practically guarantee with every post?

I just don’t understand the logic. A great PR opportunity to satisfy your player base and keep us on the hook/reward us for our loyalty (and not leaving due to the previous debacles) was abandoned.

It could have just gone so much smoother than this – with such minimal effort.
The effort could have been practically microscopic.

Instead they get a free non-dyeable wizard hat, recycled events, wooden weapons and the opportunity to gamble for anything of worth.

And when the casino was losing due to bad drop rates? It tilted the odds with a patch.

Either way, its their decision to make. I simply think it would have been far wiser to go the route that appeased all parties.. skill based, holiday enthusiasts, and Anets pocket, alike.
All were possible, few were realized.

Got my Princess on the 5th try. RNG = RNG.

And this needs to change, I’m willing to bet good money ~ this will become the latest outcry. Come Jan 3th when the event ends, and people who are actually trying to get one of the endless tonics don’t get one, expect them to quit the game.

Funny how you talk about statistics, but you base your conclusion of maybe 3-4 cases? Before the patch I got my princess on my 2nd, my Griffon on the 6th and Soldier on the 1st. After the patch I got my Ventari on the 7th, sounds reasonable compared to how others had to try over 20 times before the patch, don’t you think?
It doesn’t seem to be that bad, considering others can get it fairly easily as well.

Stop spreading your poorly drawn conclusions.

The sad thing is that this is pretty much what ArenaNet will have to go through forever if they keep adding too much RNG to the game, and gambling.

I gambled the 4 Endless Tonic in hope to get a Endless Toymakers Tonic, but I didn’t I got the Endless Golem Tonic, and at the moment, there is no way to get the other tonics since I lost the frames while doing so.

I think Guild Wars 2 contain too much RNG, I hope ArenaNet will change it eventually.

Got an Endless Princess Doll Tonic yesterday after my fifth attempt.

Edit: Got an Endless Plush Griffon on my first attempt, no emotes for that one.

Got endless griffon the 3rd try this morning. RNG is RNG. ANet’s communication is bad, but it’s better than Halloween and Lost Shores, so they’re improving and I’m not too worried. And I’ve never yet seen ANet be fully communicative, so I think we’re just going to have to live with that.

I am still cheesed off about the festive mini pets being stuck in RNG gamble boxes, but frankly if ANet doesn’t want my money they don’t want my money. shrug I’ll get the sock weapon skins instead.

Up to my 31st try with plush griffon, I think someone put “supply of” after endless…

I farmed the in world boxes every day since day one, and got the recipes, skins, matts, and lots of temporary bells. Today i bought (on the TP) 200 small boxes and won the everything endless tonic! So happy !! But i should have gotten it in world….all those hours and fighting hard mobs.
