You do amazing work. I’ll be saving up for one of these.
Fan-friggin’-tastic! I’ll have to scrimp and save up!
Out of curiosity, is it 150g per character, or is it 150g for the whole thing? Because I’m pretty sure some of my guildmates would love to get in on this.
Yup there we go sent a PM I can’t take it anymore I’ll bite
Definitely keep us posted like you did for GW1. I’ve been awestruck by your work, every time, so I’ll be looking forward to this round just as much.
Slot is closed and I’ve currently got a character soon to be under progress. I’ll update later when I’m available again, along with any artwork.

Thanks for asking! It’s 150g per character (full-body), though this is a base estimate and prices may change depending on how complex a character’s look is.
@Invertation: Thanks for following along ! Nice to see you around from the old Guru days
Hey! Glad you got a nice commission already
Your artwork is always awesome and top notch. People, you will not be disappointed!
Cheers
Just finished a commission for Natsu.

Also put in some progress slides for those who are curious.

Great work! Awesome as usual
I was going to send a PM but it appears that I need to wait two days to do so, your art is amazing and I was wondering if you were reopening commissions any time soon.
Regardless, keep up the brilliant art!
Thanks Commissions are currently closed for the moment – right in the middle of moving to another apt, so I’ll be busy getting settled in. I’ll probably be opening up another slot again within the coming weeks.
Looks like I’ve got some down time to post, so I’ll open up my spot again for anyone interested in a commission.
Just posting some character commissions – first one from a while ago and the second just recently.

I’m not currently open for gold commissions.
Hello. I ordered a character commission from you last april/may but you stopped replying after agreeing on details. Are you still planning on finishing it? Also sending you a PM with our previous conversation.
Taku’s commission I just finished.

Great work overall. Colors, composition, detail. Very good indeed. Thank you for sharing
Thanks! Main post updated a bit with some changes in pricing. In the future there will be either an increase in gold (previous was 150g per character) or an auction held for character slots.
It is always a rough thing to define pricing for art commission for a nice community game. The balance between the wish to offer the opportunity to all and the need to sort out the commissions to avoid being totally overwhelmed by dozens of projects that are, time and inspiration consuming.
You could definitely increase your prices, that’s for sure mate.
Whelp I’m out of money again, lol. Instead of doing large illustrations, I’ll be doing small character/class cards, similar to what it is I’m doing with a card game I’m helping with (see example).
I’ll be doing only upper body and heads in a similar style to the example. Only difference is that instead of the red border, I’ll be making borders designated for each class. These borders will also be done in a flat graphic style.
Pricing: 70g per head

Small preview for a card of Ashariel’s warrior.
Off topic – is it just me or are image links on this forum unusually large?
I was just scrolling through the art posts and i had to stop here.
Dude, what you do is just kittening amazing and incredible, i only wish i one day can even come close to you
i hope you will keep posting more of your amazing art !
I would love a character card o_O
@uzo: thanks! Just keep practicing and never stop learning.
@pixelpumpkin: currently closed, but check in every so often for an open spot
Just finished another character card for Ashariel. Slots are still currently closed.
These are so awesome. I’ll keep saving up gold ^^
Why are you pricing for so little? XD My headshots don’t even have color and cost as much O_O I bet you could ask three times as much as you are now <3
I agree, why do you charge so little? Those are high quality professional illustrations right there.
Normally the larger illustrations cost more, but I’m still figuring out the prices on the cards. 70g sounded fair to me, though I’ll probably be increasing prices later.
Added some effects to Ashariel’s cards – in the link below.

And attached are some WIP slides in case anyone is curious.
More cards to come.
I’m kind of curious, are you still open for commissions and if not will you be again in the future?
Hey there, I’m not currently open for commissions as I’ve got a lot on my plate right now. I will be opening back up sometime in the future though, but probably not anytime soon :T
Some other stuff I’ve been working on lately. A desktop background for Silvernis, Ashariel’s fancy lady Charr mesmer, and a quick character sketch of MerKatch’s Sylvari Ranger, and Ashariel’s Sylvari necro.
(edited by Charlie Dayman.1489)
Posting some current WIP’s. Large unrelated Studio Ghibli illustration and Ashariel’s Guardian.
Your art is beautiful! Aaah such wonderful talent and aaah!!! The cards for the work you had was Romance of the Three kingdoms! Aaah I just got a bit too excited hahah because it’s the Shu Kingdom (my fav.) Keep up the amazing work!
-gasps-
Princess Mononoke art <3
@vyrol: thanks, glad you recognized the ROTK cards!
Just posting another piece to add to my sample work above.
(edited by Charlie Dayman.1489)
Oh my, I’m amazed by the sense of space and air in your works. The first piece with the thief and tumbling perspective is especially wonderful.
Now if only commissions were open. </3
One day…. -stares off into the distance hopefully-
@Yih: thank you
@Moonlit: We’ll see, seems like I’m getting less time for these while I should also be focusing on doing more original stuff :T
Updating with Ashariel’s Guardian Norn.
(edited by Charlie Dayman.1489)
Haven’t been able to do many Guild Wars commissions lately, but I did just get this done. Commission for Daniel Frozenwind featuring his ghostly snowman from the GW1 glory days.
(edited by Charlie Dayman.1489)
Woah I never saw that in GW1. What armor is that he’s wearing? O_o
I think the pants and vest were an outfit, the face a festival hat and the gloves a collectible reward in EOTN. The scarf, cape and trinkets and some other features are unique details to Daniel’s character.
Dang lol, kinda makes me wanna go back an play it now if pvp weren’t dead. Thx for the info though ^^
Been planning on remaking my group painting below that I made a few years back. Besides my Warrior, I’ll be revisiting my other character’s designs since my tastes have changed and because the previous concepts are weak.
http://changinghand.deviantart.com/art/This-Is-My-Story-435838367
My Norn Ranger has since changed into an Elementalist. The new design still has influences/parts from the previous look while still being unique on its own. You can see the old design here: http://changinghand.deviantart.com/art/Aurea-Character-Studies-292738741
And in case anyone is interested, you can see the steps I take from start to finish. Earliest stages are the most important since the silhouette of the figure and background make up your foundation – composition, movement, posing, weight, form, etc. Establish a solid foundation first and everything after that will be easier to work. If not, you’ll either find yourself getting stuck or re-working the same areas over and over again.
(edited by Charlie Dayman.1489)
your stuff is amazing and you shouldnt charge so less of gold.
100g = 10$ you chould charge them the same as your original commission prices
(if you ever open them again that is~)
Thanks, I probably won’t be doing many more GW2 gold and related commissions in the future. Most of the GW2 stuff I’m doing now and will be doing is just for myself and will probably be a sort of farewell piece.
Anywho, setting up my Sylvari with a redesign and a character reference sheet. I garden a lot and have an army of plants, so redesigning this character was a lot of fun. You can see the old design here I made nearly four years ago:
http://changinghand.deviantart.com/art/Dahlia-Character-Study-299774371
Finishing up the reference sheet for my ele. A few changes to some colors and weapon from the illustration.

This is nicely done, Charlie. I love the variety of art styles!
Thanks Gaile
Posting some more preliminary work. Character study and illustration of Dahlia. Lots of fun drawing all the plant textures.
Back at it with the character refs, this time of my lady Charr Warrior, Jocasta. I wanted her armor to be a mix between fantasy and functional. The embossed design on her pauldrons are of Kalla Scorchrazor, who led a secret all-female warband into battle and helped win the war against the Shaman caste.
Finding free time to do my own projects is hard and I just want to get to the final group piece already. Skipping the separate individual character illustrations and just heavily working the reference sheets instead to study the character.
Three characters down, two to go.
(edited by Charlie Dayman.1489)
Updating with a character reference sheet for my Asuran Engi, Taff. Also included the old design which I felt didn’t look culturally Asuran enough. Still tried to use the previous design as an influence in the new look – sleeve cuffs, location of belt straps, metal studs, etc.
Hey guys, haven’t posted in a while as I’ve been busy working on a big illustration using all my characters that I’ve been designing over the year. This piece will be featured in the GW fan art livestream on Jan 11th (time TBA).
It will have a walkthrough of my work process along with some other details about the development of each character design. Anyways, here’s a color thumbnail of what I’m working on and just a small part of what will be included in the livestream.
So come check it and say hello!
