This video is not intended to make fun of [RIOT], its just a rare opportunity of fighting a gold league server guild. So before all the flame/trolling, they’re great guys and put up a good fight.

This video is also for those who always assume “If this is the case, I would tell him to stop showing off against pugs from low tier servers and try performing this feat against more skilled and/or coordinated individuals.” – Yamsandjams.3267

Many people always assume just because we’re a low tier server, everyone from low tier server is bad. This video is to counter that irritating statement.

Valid points. RIOT got beat there for sure. All is fair in the world of roaming. Should have re-grouped and re-engaged away from the champ.

Sorry, I was just somewhat put off by this guy with a great video series that has finely edited videos with wonderful tips, and then suddenly the next video in the series is a completely unedited “outnumbered vs RIOT…but not trolling”.

Because i’m the one who suggested to him that he should try making shorter videos. Joe likes to provide content within a week/two week time frame. It just so happened that we only got one good clip within 2 weeks of roaming. (tM/Holy kinda took a small break so we haven’t really been roaming together, maybe as duos only but not 5 mans.)

Yes sirr, we can put on big boy pants and go against gold league server guilds now wooo. Yeah we fought against [Mate], they’re a tough group to fight. Idk about eotm though, we’ve been just trying to find spots that are good to setup 5v5’s w/o people interfering, npcs, silly buffs, turrets, hilly areas.

I apologize for the inconvenience of video being too short and lacking quality. Thought that if there was some nice gameplay in there like my 3rd vid (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QVgGyZMLK_Y), that it’d be enjoyable despite music being on repeat for 15mins, but I guess not. Due to balancing work, school, gym, games, I haven’t been able to obtain quality clips yet. Being dropped into bronze league server matchups also doesn’t help either, its like a ghost town down here. Nonetheless, I shouldn’t let all these obstacles get in the way of making quality videos. I’ll definitely try my best to improve for the upcoming videos for sure!

I have the full 13min clip of it, where you pulled me off after we fought your group, pushing back another +9 man group, then re-engaging w/o cd’s except mass inv, and getting pulled off by you; Then getting zerged down for another 10 mins after our last engage. I will gladly upload it for you, but idk what it would prove or what kind of message you’re trying to convey to everyone. Pulling people off of cliffs is something elementary level, anyone can do it, so its something you shouldn’t be too proud of. Of course I fall off after I’m out of dodge rolls after fighting the other group, but nonetheless gg with the pull.

I respect that you play the wvw role to win, but snide remarks like these are meaningless. I deleted that clip of you guys steamrolling us with 3x-5x our numbers on the bridge. I understand that theres always ganking, but when you gank with those numbers then say you steamroll us “half asleep,” then thats nonsense. I’m not flaming Joe myself. I think they are fine players, but if his intent was to give true props then he would have posted all of our skirmishes and not the only one they won.

I get it though, you don’t post videos of your team losing, but this is the only engagement we lost against them so far and he posted a video of it.

I don’t know where you got the assumption that the population of a server is directly proportional to the skill level of the players considering [RIOT] tries to recruit players who beat them from lower tier servers. Even offering to pay for their transfer.

My interpretation was that he was trying to get his guild and his server on the map, not compare himself to Team Riot.

His guild was just fortunate enough to come across one who has a lot of exposure which presented an opportunity that he would have been silly to ignore.

So there is 5 of them plus a CC spamming champ (I see the friendly on their map trailing just a bit behind), and there’s only 7 at the start? (Sorry some one downed at the start of an engage doesn’t count).

I’m all about a good skirmish but this is kind of cheap.

I’d rather have 4 (or was it 5?) and the champ. I’ve seen commander-led 20-30 man zergs wipe because of 10 people and a champ. The airport champ, the bell tower champ and the statuary champ are ridiculously strong. The blue keep engineer champ is even worse.

Of the 9 players in that video only four were on TS at the time and our engi was all off on his own. You can see him get bursted first before we even knew what was going on. Our necro got bursted before we could properly regroup. So that left 2 of us. I was at half health on engage from fighting the champ. You can see me get chain ccd by the champ while our mesmer and I were still trying to regroup. I had to use my stability to stop getting tossed around by the champ but then I got chain ccd again by tM and bursted. So that just left our mesmer. The rest were randoms. It was a textbook gank. We can’t be held responsible for the skill level of map randoms who happened to be there trying to kill that mob with us. One of them was down before the fight even started.

I would gladly have switched places with tM there. I would gladly take our 4/5 and the champ mob (especially with the element of surprise) any day of the week over what we had.

Think it was last saturday that we 4manned again in EotM and we decided to give that champ a whirl to see what the fuss was about. Didn’t seem like a big deal until we got jumped by a large number of players following a commander. We were in the EXACT same position you guys were only we were the ones outnumbered. Indeed the champ was troublesome. But we saw those enemies coming and the moment we realised that the champ was being a bother we simply kited away and we managed to kill those enemies on the bridge whilst losing the champs aggro.

Joe never intended to belittle RIOT or implying them to be bad. We have seen countless and countless videos of you guys starting from BETA. We have seen you on twitch, we have seen you guys PR the crap out of your guild and people have used you guys as a baseline for “being good”.

We were incredibly excited to have finally gotten the chance to truly test our own personal skill as we have been doing really well in the lower tier servers. But since we are a lower tier server, people judge us by it. So even more reason to be excited at having a chance to fight a renowned t1 guild. Sure this was not a legit GvG, but it was an outnumbered fight for us where an even number of RIOT members were involved. So Joe was excited to post this video publically to put ourselves on the map to prove the naysayers wrong and perhaps setup a further relationship with RIOT for more future friendly rivalry.

Instead we get belittled. I’m pretty disappointed as I personally have looked up to RIOT. Yishis made me play a thief and has also inspired and created the beast known as I Am Mugi. Second to God has inspired me to take my warrior out of pve and bring it out to WvW. There are probably many other instances in tM where RIOT played an influence to where we are now and i thank you for that. But i’m done with RIOT now. To me you have become just another pug in the blob, and beating you will no longer feel like an achievement.

As I’ve said before, you did a good job of catching us napping. We could’ve shown better situational awareness there. It was a good ambush and we didn’t react nearly as quickly as we should have.

But you still deserve to be belittled. You idolize some of us and want to establish a relationship so you post a video of you ambushing us after we spent the entire afternoon sparring? We had several other fights that day, why not post those or even give mention to them? I think it’s because Joe wanted to give the impression that that was our only encounter that day.

If Joe didn’t intend insult then he is either not very bright or chose his words very poorly because ganking people and then saying “good fight you guys are great” is insulting.

And I’m sorry to burst your bubble, but I don’t think I would’ve ever been interested in a “friendly rivalry” with you guys because quite frankly I don’t see that there’s anything to be gained from it. That being said, I’m probably the least friendly member of RIOT but after all this I don’t think you’ll be able to get much traction with anyone else in guild either.

We didn’t get outplayed mechanically, we got ambushed. It was a good ambush but a terrible fight. The problem wasn’t improper skill rotations or wasted cooldowns or split dps, it was that our two main dps got bursted

There were numerous mistakes that you guys made throughout that fight and the fault is entirely on you guys but feel free to ignore that in attempt to cover the fact that you guys are sub-par players

I was just showing good sportsmanship, by saying good fight even if its bad or good. There’s nothing to get mad about, which doesn’t make any sense.
