It’s unfortunate to see so much bile spewed about in threads like this… dial it back a bit folks.

Anyhoo. I’d also like to personally recommend Jade Quarry. It’s true we had a couple guilds migrate off to… other… servers, but as a result things have settled into a much friendlier community of people that would shave their short and curlies off with a dull hot knife soaked in alcohol for the server and each other. TS is fun, the battles are great… all my opinion of course, but it’s definitely worth looking into.

I’d like to suggest FA. They need more presence overall. Their NA time slot just took a huge dip with BT leaving. TC does not need more NA guilds, and quite frankly its next to impossible to get onto our server now thakittens full anyway. More so than that, DB dosent need anymore transfers added onto their 950+ 1 month transfer list. Their server is full, and they have MORE than enough population to be competitive as is, they just dont have the showing their population suggests.

Edit: Might I point out that Mayo tried to recruit BT when they were leaving? Even after they had decided on BG he was pushing dragon brand on them.

In reality, I hope RE goes to a lower ranked server so we can see some new servers make it up to the higher tiers. Joining an already stacked server just makes the game uninteresting. This patch was badly needed just so we could get some new faces. Having servers gain a guild that isn’t a “WvW server” makes things more interesting for everyone.

As of right now, we are honestly unsure of which server/tier that we want to go. Obviously because of how passionate many of our members are about WvW, we want to maximize our enjoyment of WvW, but it does not mean we are looking into t1/t2 only. However, I personally believe that competitive & fun WvW matches can occur in other tiers as well, especially, with this new matchup system which we are very excited to see.

Like I said in the first post, we currently have more than 350 members. The daily RE WvW time we would have ~40 players in our zerg, more on reset. We always have players in WvW during the rest of the day, although it gets slower outside of our primetime. It is hard to estimate but I would say at least 80% of our active members play WvW. Of course some are more WvW oriented than others. I can’t predict how many are transferring but our main goal is to do everything we can to maintain the unity of our guild. None of us want to lose our friends during this process.

Tbh, forum posting makes me anxious :P (I think this is my 3rd post ever on the forum). I made this post for RE but Ethersin and other officers are checking it more regularly than I am. I personally do not want to discuss why we are transferring on this post because I would really like everyone to focus on the main purpose: informing others about who we are and what we want in the future. However, since now we have invited leaders from several severs to our TS today to get to know us better, any questions regarding our decisions will be answered then. If you are interested in joining us during that meeting, please contact Ethersin or myself in game to get more details.

How are you not looking for t1/t2? In a server-wide meeting Ethersin gave the Kaineng community an ultimatum… “if we move to tier 4 we are transferring” (paraphrased)

1) Where abouts did you get this information of IRON bringing over 200(i assume you meant 200 wvw only members)? I hope it wasn’t from exaggerated troll posts on this forum.

2) Being the only EU guild on SoR hardly constitutes the term “overstacked”. IIRC WM plays on the EU timeslot for BG to cover that zone. Apparently they haven’t been on much lately. Atleast during EU time if i’m not mistaken.

Actually HB is an EU guild in BG and were here long before IRON. Though they haven’t been running as an organized guild much since the first time BG took first place in T1 i believe. Could be wrong.

Honestly, I think BG is probably the most overpopulated server of the current T1. Their zergs are massive and non-stop. The problem BG has in my opinion is that their player base is very fickle and fairweather. Compile that with the fact that the overall skill cap of their organized guilds seem pretty average at best, you could have a ton of players(which BG does), they just aren’t very good or organized. They seem happy just recruiting mass number of guilds to their server every few weeks to sustain them in T1.

SoR, while not a large server(population wise), seems to be the most organized of T1 and probably currently has the highest skill cap. I don’t think they need or want more players from what I’ve read. They seem content being the smallest server and their forum trolls let us know that every 3rd post. Personally, I think that will bite them in the kitten in the end if they have an elitist type of attitude for their server and aren’t actively recruiting, but they seem happy, so to each their own.

JQ has good organization and good overall skill cap, our problem is we are just lacking 1 or 2 more organized NA guilds and we are back to full strength. RE would be a huge asset and very welcome to JQ. You should come and talk to our leadership and see what we are about. The support from the server and challenge from our enemies you would receive really makes you guys a perfect fit. Get in touch with Jedbacca or Ben Sheets, both are great guys and can really tell you more about JQ. It really is a great community and as you know, the longest lasting in T1(which in itself speaks volumes).

SOR also has the most organized/highest skillcap forum army as well.

With that said, JQ is a great place to go, they have a very active/large PVE community, you will never have trouble finding party members in LA chat.

Join SoS or Yak’s Bend… tier 3 is pretty enjoyable.

I hope you guys will find a great home. My suggestion is that you send officers anonymously to 2-3 servers you like best to check out what the situation is really like. What the PR machine says will probably have about 30.43% deviation from reality.

That said, SOR NA time is very full and there’s a queue during prime time. However, SOR OCN and SEA can only fill about 2-2.5 maps (you can check the PPT history over 1-2 months, the data will show you the truth). JQ has the most organized/strongest SEA while BG has the strongest OCN. If you are NA, I am sure JQ and BG will be great homes for a WvW guild like yours.

I’ve seen comments such as server hopper or bandwagon guild get tossed about from a select few in this thread. RE’s history comprises of Game release-December on Darkhaven. Then we were one of the first to make the transition to Kaineng, December till well the Present actually. That is our history, so we give the servers we’ve been on more than enough time to decide if it would be our home. That search didn’t end where we hoped so that is what led to this thread, the search for home.

Of the transfers RE and FBA are just about the last of the transfers that came to Kaineng and we fought hard to make our stay on Kaineng work long after the other guilds left. In regards to anyone on Kain feeling betrayed by a promise made long ago, if you were in our shoes and the choice was between upholding a promise and losing your core players, or moving to where your core players will be happy, what would you have decided? To all those selling your servers WvW to us, might I advise you to be selling your community as a whole instead, all the recruitment threads have been out for us to see, we want to see more than the normal copy paste sentiments.

P.S. Read in a nonchalant tone cause there isnt a lot of anger or rage intended by my post, just stating facts that needed to be adressed.(would have quoted ppl I’m referring to but that would make my post even longer so….)

I like what you say here. I’ve been to top of T1 and back with SoS and am very happy being here now without the competing egos that can develop from trying to stay on top in WvW (and you can see in T1 matchup threads and from some of the comments here).

Make sure you look at the different matchup threads here as well as the different server websites. How people react to wins and losses next week too will be enlightening.

Yes, having a bandwagon guild join a lower tiered server so that they can inflate their rating and then leave them hanging in a tier they don’t belong in when they bandwagon off again in a couple of months is a stellar way to go about things.

Please Rethesis, don’t even consider any low tier servers. Stay in an upper tier where bandwagoning doesn’t screw with an entire server once you need to go get your fix somewhere else.

Good luck wherever you go (hopefully T1 or T2).

I think JQ would be a great place for RE if you managed to get all 350 through. JQ guilds like WARD SF are extremely skilled and know what they are doing.

As far as BG goes, they probably have the highest wvw population, but lack organization. As far as their guilds HB stuck out really well during the T2/early T1 days but have since disbanded. Other than that nothing much sticks out besides the mega blobs of 60-70 people they run

I hate to say it but looking in a public forum for opinions about a server’s internal community is a rather futile attempt. Every single server thinks that they have the best community on the forums. I guarrantee you that SoR, JQ, BG, FA and DB will say that they have the best community but the only real way to tell is to send over a rep and actually play with that server. Community is the type of thing that you can only get the measure of from being part of it.

I decided to go back and read the OP to see if RE’s core members would be happy on my server, DB. If this statement is accurate, we can make a proper evaluation: “we would like to find a stable, friendly, but competitive community to be a part of.”

Friendly: I think DB is pretty good. Before the pre-T2 transfers DB prided itself of being a no drama server. For the most part that is still the case, though some of the new guilds did seem to bring some attitude with them (e.g. I saw someone berate a new commander for not being able to hold our BL against a 60-man TC zerg during EU primetime, our weakest time-slot). Hopefully that kind of behavior is being corrected on our private forums without added drama.

Competitive: This could mean many different things. If we’re talking about a server among the top ranks, DB obviously fits that description. If we’re talking about a server that likes to fight against tough opponents and tough guilds, DB is pretty good but within T2 I suspect TC or FA might be better because DB has some pretty tough guilds, and TC and FA are likely to fight DB frequently going forward. If we’re talking about a server that fights its hardest no matter what, I wouldn’t say DB is cream of the crop. Just personal subjective experience, nothing definitive, and others on DB are free to disagree without argument from me.

Stable: That’s a tough one. As far as I know DB hasn’t lost any major guilds since Krew, a few months ago. And I wouldn’t say they were major numbers-wise, more like reputation. In other words, their departure didn’t seem to impact our performance very much. However as you know we did get a big influx of guilds in the last 5 weeks, and that is instability in the other direction. Given that DB’s population is now full most of the time, you wouldn’t expect DB to grow much more. As for the future, it’s tough to predict whether the “new” DB guilds will eventually tire of DB. It all depends upon whether DB is fulfilling their needs, so that’s really only predictable on an individual guild basis. Since the DB mentality is to try to foster an environment without drama, it’s logical that the DB community is unlikely to push away any guild that doesn’t cause drama, so there is an element of stability in that. But it must also be understood that DB is currently called a “bandwagon” server for a reason: we have some new guilds that haven’t decided DB is their permanent home yet. So there’s always a chance that if DB starts to lose a guild here or there and sinks in the ratings, or the friendly environment changes, other large guilds might abandon ship, thus affecting stability. Still I don’t think this would be different on any other server.

Note to people who read this far: I did not specify any servers which RE should definitely not move to. I only wrote about that which I am reasonably authoritative.

At the moment BG, JQ, TC and DB are marked as full. I wonder if those servers might have enough people in there already? Especially as T1 and even more T2 matchups seem to have been pretty competitive lately.

i find it very amusing to see that those JQ representatives still claiming that JQ has a good wvw community…maybe JQ did have a great community, but it’s gone now.

Why don’t you tell us why Fire, the guild that was on JQ since launch decided to transfer to DB? how about the departure of Omen? Also, if you are thinking about transferring to JQ, you need to watch out some of the commanders from HzH and AoS, they love yelling at PuGs who question their fail tactics, these so-called commanders even went as far as threatening to ban PuGs who have different views from using the server’s TS.

And people wonder why JQ is doing so bad these days…

I urge the folks from Omen and Fire to speak up, tell us the sad reality of JQ’s wvw community. JQ needs to get rid of its bad blood before it sinks lower.

perhaps threadstarter can request for this particular thread to be close since it has outlived its purpose? I believe this thread has given you more than enough information/contacts needed to make your decision.

Why would Fire and Omen want to dwell on the past when they have such a bright future on Db?

Just want to say a quick thanks to everyone that talked to us yesterday. In my opinion this was a great way to go about it all. I think we have made some friends regardless of where we end up transferring.

Having said that by about 5 hours in we were pretty exhausted so sorry to Yak’s Bend and FA if we may have come across as a bit uninterested. That’s definitely not true and we really enjoyed learning about your servers.

I’m ex-Fire, still on JQ. Those that left left due to a clash of personalities, that’s pretty much it. Welcome to reality, not everyone gets along with everyone and I hope those that left are having a blast on DB. (And that they forget how to fight… <cough>) Although it sucked having my guild leave right when I was working hard to rebuild relations and move us beyond that, these things happen.

Those of us that stayed are seeing the community rebound wonderfully as we move on and having some absolutely great fights these days. The AoS and HzH commanders (as well as others, of course) have really been picking up the slack and the TS environment has been fun. Hey, I’ve been less than perfect at times in TS, but we chatted a bit and realize that to honestly move forward it starts from within, not without. What I see now in JQ is a refreshing reminder of the old days of crazy fun and crazier battles, and I welcome any and all to join us and share in that.

As a member of SoR, I highly recommend to not to go to SoR for now, but there are great choices for you guys such as JQ (but they’re full), and FA.

But please join SoS, they’ve one of the best community over there and in need of NA coverage, the oceanic coverage there can help you guys sleep nicely
