I have seen BS people die before but its hard as heck to do with that kitten super mes around. I was so close to getting a stomp on their thief….but nope go go gadget mes saves the day again.

Xom! I didn’t realize that was you last night. I’m trying to get BS and FoE to roll together on a more regular basis. Hallucination (BS Mes & guild leader) is amazing. That was a fun three way fight.

Yes, I got some new gear but looked a bit like a clown with the mismatch sets so spent some badges for devout skins. Now I have a matching noob looking armor skin set.

I have been talkin to a few more guilds and have some good things in the works.

BTW, PAXA will be setting up a new vent with more room if any teams ever want to hop in it. If there are any teams that need a vent, feel free to hop in to organize. Send me a PM for more info.

If you are feeling like this game is getting dull with the way it is designed, I would highly recommend coming down to tier 8 small group tier. We have 5-10 man groups running every night that pose a challenge and a fun fight. We haven’t gotten so many consistent fun fights in a long, long time and this tier is saving the game for our group of players. I have put together a little video of just a few of our many battles with some great teams running around every night. It feels good to lose again, really drives our competitive nature to get better and make less mistakes.

I have included our vent chatter in the videos, please don’t take any offense to what we say. We are a crude bunch and it’s part of our fun, so if you don’t like potty-mouths, just turn on mute!

We already have a few of the worlds greatest warriors in T8 Bulky Boy and Titan but the more worlds greatest warriors the better.

Shout out to KoM, I was doing my normal roaming around when Hobbits found out I was not in exotic gear, he sent gold… even when I returned it feeling bad about just being given gold he insisted and sent it again, so now I have all exotics condition gear thanks to KoM.

If KoM people kill you at least you know they are good peeps.

Really does not matter what server you pick, in your shoes I would pick ET or Ferg incase HoD moves up to T7 (unlikely).

There will be plenty of winnable small scale fights for a 2 man group. However be aware whatever side you chose the people that roam in small groups on T8 are flat out beasts. I have seen a drastic improvement in the player quality roaming in T8 over the last few weeks. I think this thread had convinced players from other servers to join and also motivating solid players in existing large guilds to roam in small packs.

Its actually getting much harder for me to get a ton of kills solo like I used too, however I’m having alot more fun the higher skill level foes have forced me to adjust and improve.

As for “T8 small groups”, I’ve noticed other the last couple days the “small group vs small group” fights are gone. Each time we roam it’s like 3v15, even if we do find a small group they seemingly put a message out and a huge zerg rolls by. Yeah, we burst a random up-leveled trying to run back into the fight but that is rare. I’m not saying small scale fights are gone or small groups are ineffective, just beware that zergs are still plenty down here and expect to get utterly destroyed at random times.

Arrow carts are also killing this slowly… had a 5v9 the other day, they instantly throw down an AC. I really hope small groups don’t start doing this, it’s gonna ruin the only FUN part about WvW left.

We’ve been absent the past half a week but should be out soon. One guy had some some family issues to attend to and we are retooling our group a little.

I understand your point, but disagree with small mans not being around. We put one out almost every day, KoM does as well both from HoD. Both our guilds do 100% best we can to avoid OUR OWN zergs so our [tags] are not associated with zerging.

I’m guildless on HoD, transferred a month or so ago and recently parted ways with PAXA because at the time I couldn’t get on a whole lot. Ran with KoM after PAXA logged yesterday, good people it was a lot of fun.

In need of a permanent home now, I don’t get on everyday but my schedule does allow for me to get on a lot more now. Someone take me in plzzzz

Fighting against [Invi] tonight was the closest fighting I’ve had to old Daoc emain 8man fighting in 6-7 years.

That was some fun fights, conversations after losses, and clutch playing as well. Thanks for the challenge and lookin forward to more with you guys and other groups as well!

Wanted to give props this week to alot of teams who gave [PAXA] good shows on the field of battle: [BS], [Invi], [iQ], [SeT], [Deth], [and the 15 from The Brotherhood].

It has been a refreshing environment having real hunting and fights outside of walled objectives.

Can someone just pick a server so this can get rolling? I love FC but there isn’t enough good small groups for me to get exited about it.

HoD has PAXA and KoM running almost every single night. GT also runs in small groups as well. They’re definitely out there.

Any t8 server, you really can’t go wrong. Although FC and et have been stuck there for so long they’ve had lots of small group practice

I don’t think anyone on HOD is looking for ppl ATM. Also u want to be on server that will stay put less gems to pay to move again

For anyone that would enjoy this environment but doesent have a full guild, dont let that stop you. Were all pretty nice people and wouldent have a problem puging people when we have open spots. Also, its not all 5v5, theres a lot of solo/duo/trio stuff going on.

Yeah I’m deciding between FC and ET, just trying to see if there are any guilds recruiting on either of the servers because I am transferring down by myself.

If [OB] runs a dedicated group, I would consider it man. There are at least 4-6 small man (3-8 players) running every night. All of them have built class specific groups to put their best effort into winning.

There are still zergs, but they are way more manageable than any of the other tiers. Since we started this “small man movement” 3 weeks ago, we have had 4 5-mans xfer to the tier. The competition is growing each day in quality of fighting as well. Fighting 20 with 5 can be fun for a while and we have that option here……but we also have the DAILY small man competitive platform in open world roaming fights.

SeT is looking for people on FC. I’m usually on in the evenings. Ping me in-game for info.

Yeah, I saw that too. ANet really likes to ruin any competitive fun they have in this game.

It’s okay Boulder I have heard there are quite a few good small man guilds in T7 also so if Anet makes the servers move around more often we’ll be seeing other guilds like the guy 2 posts above in BSty.

I don’t know… this might actually be a good thing in the long run. I can’t speak for other servers, but at least for GoM, entering a tier with good small groups really helped us grow. Most of our core WvW guilds would run groups outside of the zergs anyways, but 100% focused on objectives and scoring (which unfortunately meant that sometimes the best strategic play was to avoid a fight completely in order to keep the PPT up). Then we ran into PAXA and a few other good small groups and suddenly the idea of trying to crack their synergy with equal numbers became much more interesting than watching the scoreboard tick. Now, it’s not uncommon to see GoM guilds like RH and RISE running on some nights just looking for fights.

TL;DR: GoM still plays WvW to “win,” but there are plenty of us that now also play to “fight” since being exposed to talented small group play. I think shaking up the tiers might garner a similar response from other squads out there who have not yet faced good small groups or didn’t want to risk the transfer costs to experience it.

It’d be a great to match with GoM again. They have lots of small groups and weren’t zergie at all. They will nightcap any T8 servers to death.
