Guys, guys. It really doesn’t matter. Whatever comes on top of the list for DPS/Utility in this thread will get nerfed to the ground in the next balancing update.

So umm… for futureproofing, just pick what comes on the bottom of everyone’s list. That class will be the most OP profession in the game after all the nerfing’s done.

Until the next round of nerfs that is.

Well, whenever this argument about ‘which class is the best’ comes about, it just becomes nonsensical to the point where everyone starts stating which class is the best/worst using arguments which are based either on questionable methods or skewed to put whatever class in whatever light they wish to.

Then the devs read this mess and ‘tries’ (if they do) to interpret what the heck is going on and end up screwing class balancing even more.

Hmm, I have a zerker mesmer, zerker guard I use for dungeons and necromancer/conditionmancer for wvw purposes and general Pve and a ranger regen ranger and also zerker gear I swap out everynow and then.

I’d say in the right situation though my necromancer even being condtion speced with a well placed epidemic is very destructive compared to most classes I’ve played or seen especially when most condition speced necro’s are going 30 in spite for burning plus our torment being AoE you’d be surprised how much damage is spread around in a AoE setting. I guess problem is people don’t see it as “burst” damage so it’s disregarded as bad damage but granted against single targets it’s not the highest damage around. If you don’t believe me get on a necromancer with epidemic take em to the pavilion and hit a epidemic on one of the legendary bosses there with mobs around and see how much damage you do with all those stacks of bleeds and what have you spread around to every veteran around him =p

I’d love to see a four Ele team absolute mince up everything a dungeon has by alternating Fiery Greatswords for almost every encounter. Bring a Warrior for Empower Allies and banners, maybe Fear Me for some positioning, though that Ele swing sends em pretty far anyway.
I think everything would die before you noticed the lack of reflect projectiles, and if absolutely necessary I’m sure some offhand focus subbing in could do the trick on those select few encounters. Actually yeah, offhand dagger is mainly for the fire field which you’d have enough of with two other Ele’s (though I forget if any traits benefit OH dagger) but then there’s the issue of dropping the Hammer/FGS to use the focus… I dunno I think I’ll just stop there…

Just two eles in CoE is enough to do this to absolutely everything that can be positioned like that (while skipping what is normally skipped). Everything dies off too fast with just 2 fiery gswords out to bother keeping 4 up.

I did some vet giant kills on my necro yesterday. They averaged at about 18-19 seconds.

The devs know a hell of a lot more about class DPS and balancing than we do. For the longest time people cried about rangers being bad and the devs did nothing, because they knew rangers were actually good and that players were just being a bunch of crybabies.

We just need to wait for someone to figure out how to play necromancers well.

There’s not a bug. It’s an issue of L2P and BHB.

I can upload a proper demonstration of necro dps if I thought it would help. But its just not worth it.

Whenever there’s something to reflect mesmer will outdps everyone if proper specced.

Whenever there are 2 ele and you take conjured mesmer is 4th class.

People should understand mesmer got 3 source of dmg and should also stop to compare mesmer dmg autoattack like itd be the only source of dmg like other classes.

My mesmer and my thief are both full asc with meta gear\build and it’s like 50%-50% about who does more dmg between them depending on istance\pull.

I’ve got an engineer with full ascended berserker gear and trinkets, “The Predator” rifle, and 87 AR. Runes are full strength, I’m missing the +5 power infusions.

I can use Guang’s build and suggested rotation in his stead if he isn’t interested. I’d just need to know what food/sigils to bring for a given encounter. I’m relatively familiar with most dungeons save Arah, which I’m working on getting better at. I’d want a practice run through or two with the group to get a plan and logistics down.

If DnT or any others want to test the engineers DPS/utility I can act as a (hopefully) adequate 5th.

Edit: Fun fact. The approximate cost of making 14 +5 power mighty infusions, for the extra +70 power, is 140 skill points and 2,422 gold or approximately $336.
