Asurans vs Hobbits, who would win 1v1 assuming both are wearing zerkers?

Asura. Unless you’re talking about a specific Hobbit (Bilbo, Pippin, Merry et al.) then generally they’re less inclined towards violence/adventure.

The hobbits would sit down with a giant picknick basket, and the asura would stand by and watch them in total confusion .

Btw, there’s no such thing as wasting tomes of knowledge on adorable asura. She deserves every single one of them .

As for the rest, I haven’t played a lot of gw2 the last few days … downloaded Disney Infinity for my kids, and I’ve been playing way too much of that myself (especially considering that I get a bad case of motion sickness if I don’t move the camera in that game extremely careful sigh).

Joined a level 19 fractal advertised as being the last fractal. It was the 3rd, and they were stuck at the legendary imbued shaman (side note: this encounter is such a joke at level 19, how does ANYONE get stuck there?). So they got carried through that encounter. Then we get Molten Duo, and the carrying continues (Annonymous dude, a thief, doesn’t even know to manage the champ effigy’s defiance and/or interrupt the firestorm). Except before the Duo, this lovely dialog starts:

Anonymous dude: “yall wanna pay me for the 1st 3 fractals? lol”
Anonymous dude: “kitten”
Me: “lol”
Anonymous dude: “is that a no?”
Me: “ofc it’s a no”

And then, obviously, I get kicked right before the Berserker is dead (after also carrying hard; and getting that guy up from being downed).

What are the odds ANET decides to actually review the report for LFG abuse (i.e. right click, report, lfg abuse, no other information given) and actually take action? Of course they claim they will, but this is the same ANET that apparently can’t read support tickets regarding instances being stolen, and sends some generic crap about devs looking at WvW in response.

Oh right, approximately zero. Thanks for your wonderful abuse-prone LFG system and sub-par reporting options, as always, ANET.

15 years of EQ, 3 of DCUO, and about 1 of this now. EQ was rigid group leader. DCUO was a bit of a mix and had some of the issues GW2 has. GW2 has been the worst system I’ve been in so far.

Sure some group leaders were kittens but you knew exactly who to call out when things happened, which generally kept people in line.

Sad to say to many people where more worried about losing progress if the leader left. In over two years of playing guild wars 2, It only happened to me twice.

I don’t think the change was really needed. But hey.. yeah.

In other games if the leader left it’d simply pick a new leader, EQ it was based on whoever was longest in the party then if people joined the party together it was alpha IIRC.

So that was never an issue. The leader would have to kill the instance specifically and not just leave for that to happen.

After playing The Crew for 3 days now I have to say…

GW2 — Price: 50€, what I would pay: 20€
The Crew — Price: 50€, what I would pay: 100€
The biggest surprise was the ingame store. You can buy everything but you can also get everything by actually playing the game!

Awww yeah, GW2 related stuff: … new daily … nice … will have to spend less time on gw…

My experience with The Crew compared to GW2 lately can be described accurately as…

It is the street racing game, however, it’s an “MMO” street racing game, which means that you’re premanent online and with other drivers. The game will only load a dozen players at best, though.
What is comparable is the ingame shop. While GW2 has gem store exclusive items, The Crew has none of that. You can buy everything with real money, however, you can also earn it ingame. And it’s not grindy!

And while the total map size may be smaller in The Crew, it feels much wider since there aren’t any map borders.

How many hours have you logged on gw2 vs the crew?

Get back to me when they are equal.

This game may not have the long-term motivation of a classic MMO, however, it wont have broken promises or half-baked content either.
I would actually laugh if The Crew gets a full-price DLC before GW2 does.

So breaking promises and pushing out half-baked content is considered a business model now?
ANet’s plan of pushing the LS instead of working on an expansion didn’t really work out, did it?

I’m not a white knight so I don’t know why you’re asking me to defend them. I think nobody here gives a kitten about The Crew really, nor is their business model at all comparable so all you’re doing is being gleeful about a new game no one cares about. No one cared about all the DAI posts, and no one cared about the Archeage posts. If you are enjoying some other game go post on their forums.

See it as bonus: I’m happy with my new discovery, as dlonie is with his. We feel that happy so that we have to share our happiness with you. Or more like there is nothing going on in GW2, so we might as well post about other things. I’m by no means gleeful about The Crew, just saying that if someone is looking for a street racer game, he should try this one.
I atleast have found some enjoyment in this game which I’ve missed for a long time now in GW2.

But, to appease you, I’ve lately started to do some solo dungeon runs, nothing great so far, but it’s atleast something.

I like it. The story is great, the NPC acting is superb, and the combat is pretty fun. Combat is very different from GW2, but similar to DA:O if you’re familiar with how that worked.

The only step backwards from DA:O that I’ve found is that the game isn’t as….wide? I mean, the story is deep, long, and branchy, but DA:O had several different starting stories depending on race and class, while DA:I starts everyone off the same. I didn’t play around with the DA Keep thingy, though, so maybe that would influence the start.

Player controls do feel a little clunky at times, but it’s not unplayable by any means.

If you liked DA:O, you’ll probably like DA:I.

If you like engaging storylines and interesting companion NPCs, you’ll love DA:I

haven’t tried it and don’t intend to.

regarding the people asking about the game, I’d honestly say give it a go. the downsides i’d say are that I didn’t really connect with the protagonist in the same way as i did with the warden or shepard (who i genuinely enjoyed as characters, though the VA for the inquisitor was very nice i don’t think i took too much to the character itself). the final mission is also extremely abrupt (you start the final quest and then it’s like boom, boss is right there, go fight, pretty much no build up at all which felt really weird).

race-gating templar armour also extremely annoyed me, though luckily you can get grey warden gear which looks almost as cool, though it’s only a tier-2 schematic so it’s not the best stats possible by the end of the game. there’s a few very dull quests like fetching crystal shards, and there were generic fetch quests which i didn’t even bother doing unless it was actually on the way while i was doing another quest in which case sure, i’ll hand it in.

overall i’d say strong characters, maybe a bit of a short story (though what we have is on the whole well-made), if you’re a diehard of the lore there’s a few mahoooooosive reveals in the later part of the game (like huge, huge, been waiting over half a decade for clarification on this huge), combat is fine and the controls I got used to after a while. very annoying how squishy dagger rogues are though, since i built sera in to one and she would just melt when there were mobs flinging AOE everywhere.

also, there are absolutely zero recycled environments. the first DA game with no recycled environments anywhere, and the environments themselves are gorgeous. it just pains me that we didn’t get to see more of val royeaux.

The combat also isn’t fluid as GW2, it’s more a long the line of dark souls, which is nice but I personally prefer gw2’s combat. I had the chance to play the closed beta for a couple hours and it’s as awesome as it look, I’m just scared since it will be free to play, in other word, open you wallet cheeks and go in deep.

Combat mechanics are a huge draw for games to me, but I have to say the thing I like about GW2 the most is the lack of necessary grinding. I love that I can(or could) just play content for the fun of it without that gear treadmill acting as a monkey on my back. I’ve recently tried to go to an old game and I just don’t have the desire to grind out the gear I need in it to play it. I’m enjoying playing it but grinding it for weeks and weeks just to catch up, it’s put me off.

So for now I’m not playing anything. I got DA:O I need to finish, and I bought Dark Souls finally to try it out, but more than anything I wish GW2 would just give me some new stuff I’d find fun, the combat is great, the system is amazing, it’s just lacking more content…
