Well since the interest for the dugeon thread has reached levels like the discussion of raid rewards, farming loctions for mining and a discussion on the beauty of empty dungeons, I would like tho say,

A-Nets track record should list the following
Most events from previous festivals have been removed though people still would like to aquire them
Most Season 1 events seem forgotten for the better part e.g.

• Halloween tracks (Mad Memories)
• Tower of nightmares,
• The Marionette,
• The secret of southsun (reworked,maybe we could get a small karka invasion in LA daily to reintegrate Southsun cove in this game),
• Bazaar of the 4 Winds with it’s mini games
• SAB (even though I hate it personally)
• Dungeons (yes…. leaving dungeons to the side, with no rewards seems a bit extreme, why didn’t you double the tokenrewards or create a chest directly giving skins so we could complete the reward tracks. I sure as hell will not play PvP, WvW
  NP, if it’s reverted to playable state again, but PvP never, just because!
• WVW? Well ‘nough said We have a queue on EBG and no-one playing the borders except a few PvE-ers doing dailies. No-one seemingly cares. NO-ONE! Even though the maps are nice estethically they are unfair, unwieldy, unpopulated and bound to all things WvW-ers asked, even begged, not to be included. The end result shows you are living a dream far away from this game and it’s players….

Some people make an effort to keep some communication alive to make sure there is still a community, but the hardcore community shifted partially to Reddit, as did some other developers causing a rift in comunications as well…

I must say the release of HoT wasn’t the succes you expected, maybe in sales it was, but the reception and acceptance of content was horrid. For me HoT has been the worst experience in Gw2… mostly because I find it unplayable, I log in for 30 minutes of sometims a bit longer and I log out again, cause I do the daily fractals(easy) in a 15-20 minute block, then next time I log in a do daily and the 3rd time a day I notice there is NOTHING LEFT as DS, VB and all other maps take too long, are full, or unacccessible, I need points for masteries so I travel to them to find the are behind a timer/event barricade, but I’m mostly in empty maps… events get done only if I do ’m myself it seems…

DUNGEONS WERE ALWAYS OPEN, well except for COF, COE and Arah which -NORMALLY- had open instances somewhere else…through LFG… whihc took 15-30 minutes and paid for my ingame needs…

I fight over scraps now in my ascneded gear…. no longer a hero, but a beggar
unable to afford a guild hall, upgrades to new armor, or new specs….
The money I gain is put in food, and when I run out of cash I sell stuff from my bank. each time just feeling poorer and more miserable, the feeling of rewards are long gone, as is the fun in opening bags after bags after bags of junk just for the salvage-o-matic. Even the bags give bags now… but I haven’t gotten 1 drop from the new area’s yet with a new skin remotely usefull, yes I got a set of rare weapon, and some exotics but all OLD skins…
ALL new skins come from repeating story over and over and over and over and bugging on hearts and minds , bugging on hearts and minds and bugging on hearts and minds hasn’t made my experience better at all…. No really it is not okay.

I really want to play, but I do not have much fun at this time, the nerf in gold for dungeons was a usefull thing for the economy but I really hate A-Net as a company for it.

I really do not care for RAIDS, which are dungeons, problem is I missed the boat and as such who cares, it’s noot 15 minutes either, unless your party is ready and waiting.

Except new fractals are irrelevant before they even get added, unless ANet overhaul the dailies properly.

They have to find a place for them in the scale first, then they have to make sure that people run it. Even if it’s really fun nobody is going to run it with the current dailies system after the initial buzz of new content wears off, unless it’s quicker than swamp, but if it is quicker than swamp then the chances of it being interesting and fun are almost zero.

Will anyone try BnS? I just log for 56-67-77 and a day or two of raiding… so I need a change.

Just had a mysterious gold fractal shield appear in my inventory after doing my dailies before opening my chests. I noticed it in my exotic bag. Since i only do page dailies usually i find it hard to believe i got it on a previous day and didnt notice. Can anyone confirm they do come from the page daily chests sometimes or boss chests? I havent done 50+ dailies for over a month either. No idea where it came from x)

I believe I got a golden scepter weapon from a daily page box a few days ago, but that has been the only time I have ever gotten one from it.

I guess nobody bothered redoing an optimal rotation (after changing both casttimes and cooldowns of each skill) so no quickness/alacrity is gone to waste with an auto when you have a better skill on your 3rd engi kit, for instance.

If you’re not after the optimal vacuum rotation it’s possible to pick a mesmer bud to give you alacrity and quickness while you record one of those 30 second rotation videos, then manually add your combatlog (as common DPSmeters either suck or will acount for mesmer’s dps too). I got a golden fractal pistol from doing level 40 or so. My girlfriend got golden fractal mace from doing level 30.

I don’t really care about optimal. Just would like to see some data. Everyone is like alacrity is super strong but is it? There are so many things which reduce its effectiveness.

Yeah if anything i was surprised they decided to hit alacrity instead of quickness.

Alacrity needs to become a true boon though. That will be some small compensation for the nerf.

I took ele as an example with some quick math not accounting for aftercasts on mesmer subforum :
It gives me that current alacrity boosts Firecamping Ele’s damage by 77% in a 180 second rotation.

And with my math Firestaff rotation becomes 31% shorter so you can do it 45% more often, but you also lose 5 Fireballs and 1 Lava Font. I would estimate that rotation is 10% weaker so that 145% becomes 130% which means a 30% damage increase.

With quickness and alacrity, 37% faster rotation which means 59% more rotations. Only misses 1 Fireball so ~58% more damage.

Been playing it over the weekend now and having good fun so far. Never really been a big fan of pvp in MMOs but BnS is quickly changing that. Feels more like a fighting game than a MMO.

Opens up for f2p on 19th, founders have been playing since friday when they opened for headstart. Has both EU and NA regions with dozen servers on each.

Yeah I’m on Windrest but for people without premium it’s better to pick any other server. Queues can get pretty long even for premium players.

I’m on Ebon Hall, its low/mid population and mainly PvE focused atm.
But the game isn’t even completely released yet, the only numbers available are those of the people that bought the expensive founders packs and pre-registered their names.
Just avoid going on Windrest if you don’t have premium membership and you should be fine

I’d be impressed if I could log in betwen the queues and the patches/maintenances. I love GW2 for those only two points.

I think you guys should reconsider dungeons. At the very least, they need maintenance and people still do play them. Also put the rewards back in them, same with fractals.

Whatever you guys do, DON’T focus on raids. MMO’s have been down that road before. History should not be constantly repeated.

Ok. So to keep on topic. I cant get into BnS, so after I finished the witcher 3, I tried again d3. And I am surprised how enjoyable is now (just did the main story and drop it back then). So I gonna stay with d3 til bdo is out.

I tried the character creation tool last night. Its too much for my simple brain. But it looks like we can share designs. Tamers look best but i want to play Sorceror. So ill prob just download a design someone else made and then tweak slightly from that… When the game eventually comes out.

I can design it for you, no problem <3 but you should give yourself more time to learn and bend those sliders to your will. They’re rather… obedient.
I like that tamer! But I don’t know if I’ll end up getting the game after all. Chances are it’s pretty and a kittenload of grind… and not much else.

I tried witcher 3, loved the combat to bits (even if it’s too much like sword ranger), then got bored with the horrible 10-15 storyline and quit. In every godkitten rpg ever but DAI (that’s why I liked it so much?) there’s the “Chapter In A Huge City [that looks the same everywhere you go] Full Of Meaningless Sidequests And Tons Of Running Around”, a bad habit I personally find disgusting. You know, just having a checklist: talk to 1, talk to 2, talk to 3, go back, teleport. I wish developers lost this obsession with the “city chapter” already because it slows the story to a crawl.

Other than that, waiting for the weekly raid/fracs whatever then… then you realise you can’t commit to sittin afk in an open world map for 2 hours and log off. Weehee.

Finally a benefit to being Oceanic! No BnS queues ha.

BnS is pretty new and shiny to me with some great things such as new PvE content, semi decent combat system, customizable UI, solid class balances, pretty fun dungeons etc. I’ll probably play it on and off casually while retaining GW2 and wait fro ANet to add new content.

The biggest gripes to me in BnS are the 48h TP listing limits, spam bots, 50 block list maximum, slow item salvaging and the linearity of the open world.

There’s definitely stuff ANet can learn from them, especially the insane amount of dev communication those guys are giving compared to GW2.

Do remember that BnS has been out longer than GW2 in the east and west is far off from the newer content/balance patches that have happened over that past 4 years.

The sorceror looks almost like liv Tyler by default.

Fun time, a poster is trying to police a community’s thread? You know what, if you don’t like what you’ve seen here, go a head and report the posts you think are violating the rules. For better or worse, this thread represents the interest of the dungeon (forum posting) community, and if their interest deviates somewhere outside the intended dungeon topics, it should serve up as a warning to our dear devs that their content is becoming obsolete.
